A 16-18 year old male riding a bicycle, robbed two separate patrons at gunpoint as they walked through the parking lot near Tennyson Road. The suspect approached the victims, pointed a handgun at them and demanded cash, which they surrendered. Officers checked the station and neighborhood, but the suspect was GOA/UTL. Hayward PD has had a recent rash of similar robberies in the area of the station.
A patron reported that he saw a man with a gun in his waistband on a train departing El Cerrito Plaza Station. The train was held and searched by officers at North Berkeley Station. The station agent reported a possible suspect existing the station prior to the officers arrival, and that subject was stopped a few blocks from the station. The subject was on parole and had an outstanding warrant for his arrest. Since he had no firearm in his possession, the same train was later searched again at Macarthur Station for the gun. No gun was located. The suspect was booked for the warrant, and the total train delay at both stations was approximately thirty-five minutes.
A patron reported seeing an adult male drop a handgun on a Pittsburg bound train. The patron said the man picked the gun up and put it back in his pocket. The train was held at MacArthur station and officers located the suspect. Upon searching him, officers found a handgun on his person. A records check revealed the suspect was a convicted felon. The suspect was booked at Glenn Dyer Jail. 0710-2426. L21.
A patron reported seeing a man with a gun aboard the train. A sergeant and officers searched the train, located the 20-year-old suspect, and recovered a stolen 9mm semi-automatic pistol. The suspect was booked at Dyer Jail for brandishing the firearm and for possession of a loaded, concealed and stolen firearm.
Officers searched the Coliseum station after a cab driver reported via 911 that a man pointed a gun at him. It was determined that the offense happened just outside of the station at 75th Ave. and San Leandro Street. Officers were unable to locate the suspect and turned the case over to the Oakland Police.
Officers responded to a report of a disturbance on a bus. Responding officers learned that a male acquaintance of the victim allegedly tried to force her off the bus. The suspect, according to the victim, had been arrested the previous evening for being in possession of a gun and for threatening to kill her. Officers were unable to locate the suspect after an extensive search.
Officers responded to the Pittsburg station after a train operator saw a man drop a gun, pick it up and quickly conceal it on his person. The man was described as being in his 30's, wearing a black hoodie and baggie jeans. Responding officers were unable to locate him.
A patron had his PSP video game taken from him while on board a Daly City bound train at the MacArthur station by approximately 10 male juveniles. The train was intercepted at the 19th Street station, and 7 males were positively identified by the victim. 6 of the suspects were cited and released, and the principal suspect (an adult) was arrested and booked at Santa Rita jail for robbery. A gun was recovered near the suspects. The PSP was never located, and the gun was not used in the robbery.
A patron was approached by a male, 18-19 years of age, who offered to sell him drugs. When the patron declined, the subject, claiming to have a gun, attempted to rob him. The victim pulled out a box cutter in self-defense, chasing the suspect away. There was no loss.
A parole agent reported witnessing an armed robbery aboard a train. A 27-year-old man took $80 from the wallet of a 20-year-old male victim. The suspect brandished a knife. The parole agent pointed out the suspect to a BART police officer, who then arrested the suspect and booked him at the Martinez Detention Facility for robbery.
A woman was knocked down and robbed of her purse and cellphone by a teenage male who also pointed a gun at her. The suspect fled through the parking lot towards the mall.
Officers on a patrol check of a train engaged a subject with a bicycle in casual conversation. One of the officers noticed a dagger concealed in one of the handgrips of the handle bar. The subject in possession of the bike also had an outstanding warrant charging possesion of a controlled subtance. The subject was arrested and booked for being in possession of a dagger in addition to the outstanding warrant.
An adult male contacted for fare evasion was arrested and booked after the officer making the contact found that the suspect was in possession of a concealed/loaded handgun.
Two males in their early twenties tried to rob a patron of his iPOD at gunpoint (semi-auto handgun) while all were on board a Richmond bound train at MacArthur station. The victim was able to maintain possession of his property and off-boarded at MacArthur station while the suspects remained on board. The train was searched at Ashby for the suspects with no success.
An adult female suspect moved toward a group of teen-aged girls with a knife raised above her head threatening to stab one of them. A witness intervened, and the suspect began fleeing. An officer apprehended the suspect and recovered the knife. The suspect was booked.
An adult male was arrested and booked for using a cane to batter his girlfriend while on board a San Francisco bound train as it approached Embarcadero station. A BPD sergeant located the suspect and victim on board the train as it arrived at Powell St. station. The victim sustained facial wounds.
Officers encountered the victim of a stabbing on the sidewalk adjacent to the station. The victim, an adult female, was stabbed in the leg by an adult male who is known to the victim and a witness. The suspect fled on foot. El Cerrito PD was notified and assumed the investigation.
BART PD officers assisted SFPD in a search for an adult male, 24 yrs. of age, who allegedly beat another subject with a handgun, then reportedly fired a shot at the victim, missing him. BART officers became involved when the victim ran into Powell St. station and reported the incident which occurred at 5th and Market Streets. SFPD suspects that the incident stemmed from a drug deal gone bad.
Male suspect contacted on train for fare evasion. Suspect detained for failure to provide satisfactory identification. Further investigation revealed suspect provided false name to officers upon initial detention. Suspect found to have $5,000 warrant out of Oakland PD for false imprisonment. Search incident to arrest yielded a concealed dirk/dagger on his belt. Suspect booked at SF County Jail for felony possession of a dangerous weapon and the outstanding warrant.
Three male suspects wearing mostly blue clothing, off-boarded a Daly City bound train at Glen Park Station. A male victim wearing a red cap, was standing on the platform, accompanied by his pregnant wife and small daughter. The suspects began challenging the victim, and one suspect brandished a 12" kitchen knife. A witness intervened, grabbing the knife from the suspect. The suspects ran from the station and were GOA/UTL.
Patrons at MacArthur Station reported three juveniles who had been creating a disturbance aboard a Richmond bound train. A handgun was observed tucked in one suspects rear pocket. Officers intercepted the train at Ashby Station, located the juveniles, and recovered a loaded handgun from one of them. That suspect was booked at Juvenile Hall.
A bus driver taking a break in his bus overheard a verbal commotion in the bus zone between a male and a female. When the driver tried to intercede on behalf of the female, the male brandished a handgun tucked in his waistband and threatened to shoot the driver. The suspect was taken into custody in the plaza area and later booked at juvenile hall.
An adult male approached the station agent at Colma station asking to be let in for a free ride. When the agent refused, the subject threatened to rob someone and brandished what appeared to be the butt end of a handgun. The subject fare evaded and boarded a train, exiting at Daly City station where he was apprehended after a short foot chase by Daly City PD. The suspected handgun turned out to be a facsimile which he tossed while being chased. It was later recovered. The subject was booked on the above charges.
A man was stabbed in the stomach when he tried to intervene on behalf of another man who was being beaten by two subjects. The incident occurred on board a Richmond bound train as it was arriving at 12th St. station. The suspects, who were both males in their 20's, fled when the train arrived at 12th St. The victim was taken to a local hospital for treatment.
