At 2055 hrs., a 13-year-old male reported having been robbed an hour earlier by a male, 16-18 years of age. The suspect had what appeared to be a gun in his pocket. The loss was $3.
Two BART police officers on-viewed two adult male suspects fleeing an armed robbery of a liquor store in unincorporated San Leandro. The officers pursued the suspects, arrested them, and recovered a gun and cash. The suspects, who were positively identified by the victim, were turned over to Alameda Co. sheriff's deputies.
An adult male subject was robbed of his wallet, iPhone, and vehicle by a pair of armed female adults in the parking lot at the Coliseum station. Oakland PD stopped the vehicle in their city, due to speeding and registration violations. After the stop, the OPD officers discovered that the car and occupants were also wanted in connection to a robbery and carjacking. The two females were arrested and the firearm was recovered. The suspects and follow-up were turned over to BART PD. It appears as though the suspects were also wanted in another carjacking in Pleasanton, and a robbery/kidnapping in Oakland (both yesterday).
A disturbance between several subjects led to the commission of a battery on one of the involved parties and the display of a handgun by another. Details were sketchy pertaining to the cause of the disturbance. The subject allegedly with the handgun, a male in his late teens, was in the company of two other males. All three left the scene on foot and were not located by responding officers.
An adult male detained for fare evasion was also found to be on parole. A parole search yielded a knife in his possession. The subject's parole officer was notified and he requested that the former be taken into custody for violating the terms of his parole.
A 23-year-old female was arrested for battering her 30-year-old former boyfriend, then slashing his hand with a knife. The victim was not seriously injured. The suspect was booked at the Glenn Dyer Jail on battery and assault-with-a-deadly-weapon charges.
A passenger on board a train was robbed of $20 and his BART ticket by an adult male who simulated a weapon and threatened to kill him. The suspect was apprehended at Glen Park Station and booked on a charge of robbery.
An adult male was held for psychiatric evaluation after he threatened a system service worker with a walking cane and spat on her. The suspect told responding officers that he wanted to kill himself, thus prompting the need for psychiatric observation. Criminal charges are pending.
An adult male detained for fare evasion was subsequently arrested and booked on a $50,000 felony warrant charging robbery and assault with a deadly weapon out of Oakland P.D.
The Contra Costa County Sheriff's Department requested the use of a K9 to search for a possible hand grenade at a local residence in Pittsburg. The area in question was searched with negative results.
A patron had his iPhone snatched from his possession while on board a Fremont train at South Hayward Station. Three males in their late teens to early twenties were involved in the theft and all fled the station after the train pulled in. One possible suspect was detained several blocks from the station but was determined not to be one of the responsibles. The subject however was found to be a parolee at large and a handgun was found in his possession. The subject was arrested and booked accordingly. The suspects in the iPhone theft were not located.
An adult male suspect approached two separate adult male victims from behind, slashing their necks with a razor blade. The attacks occurred on the access road near West MacArthur Blvd. The suspect was taken into custody at the ticket vending machines, as he was pushing razor blades into a machine. Both victims were seriously wounded, but survived the attacks and were admitted to a local hospital. The suspect was booked.
A patron was robbed of his iPhone in the Barrett St. parking lot. The suspect, an adult male, was armed with a knife. A possible suspect was detained but the victim was unable to positively identify him as the responsible.
A man was followed into an elevator by three male suspects while inside the Montgomery Street station. One of the suspects threatened the victim with a pair of scissors, and demanded money. A station agent witnessed the activity inside the elevator via a camera, and telephoned the police. The suspects then escorted the victim to an ATM machine, and took $500.00, a cell phone, and a laptop from the victim. The police arrived, and detained two of the suspects who were in possession of the victim's property. The suspects were positively identified by the victim, and were arrested and booked into San Francisco jail for robbery.
Officers who were questioning a fare evader on the sidewalk in front of the station on San Leandro St. heard what turned out to be a shotgun blast emanating from within a bus stopped at the station just several feet away from them. While checking the bus, officers found a 14 year old male in possession of a sawed-off shotgun which he'd accidentally discharged, blowing a hole through the floor of the bus. The subject, who has a previous history with this agency for robbery, and is on probation, was turned over to the Alameda County Sheriff's Department.
Union City P.D. advised that a witness at a local MacDonald's restaurant saw a handgun fall out of the pocket of a male subject (undetermined age). The subject was last seen headed towards the Union City station located across the street. Trains were held out and the station searched. The subject was located on the platform and found to be in possession of a BB gun.
A patron was robbed of his wallet as he sat in his car in the parking lot. The suspect, an adult male who was armed with a handgun, fled the scene in a grey Nissan.
A male juvenile was robbed of his cellular phone in the bus zone. The suspects are three males in their late teens, one of whom brandished a handgun during the offense. The crime, which took place at 1700 hrs., was reported after the victim came home.
BART Police detectives this morning arrested a suspect in the homicide which occurred last Monday at the Hayward Station. The 20 year old male suspect, of Hayward, was in possession of a handgun when arrested at a Stockton residence.
An 18 year old male was killed and an innocent bystander wounded in a shooting that took place on a stairwell at the entrance of the station. The victim who was fatally shot stumbled into the free area of the station before collapsing near the fare gates. The second victim suffered a minor gunshot wound and is expected to recover. The suspect fled on foot towards "B" Street. Although the motive hasn't been determined and no arrests have been made, investigators have spoken to several witnesses and are working on a number of leads.
A patron was travelling to Pittsburg on a train from San Francisco when he was approached by an adult male who asked for for change and for a ride to Antioch as the train approached Pittsburg station. The patron provided change for a twenty dollar bill and the two parted ways after the train arrived at Pittsburg station. As the victim was walked to his car in the carpool lot the subject suddenly appeared from behind as the victim was about to enter his car. The suspect held a knife to the victim's neck and demanded money. The suspect fled on foot with the victim's briefcase which contacted his house keys, work keys, and $160 in cash. The case was reported two hours after the incident occurred (approx. 1930 hrs.).
Hayward PD advised of a stabbing incident that occurred on an AC Transit bus at the Hayward station at approximately 1535 hrs. this date. Hayward PD and Alameda County Sheriffs initially investigated the case and interviewed the victim at the hospital when they learned it occurred at the Hayward station and reported it to BPD. The victim, a male high school student, was stabbed in the hip by another male teen who the victim believes also attends his school in Hayward. The incident was the result of a verbal exchange as both subjects boarded the bus. The wound, a minor stab in the hip, was not serious.
A hot dog vendor reported to the station agent that he'd been robbed by two adult males in their 20's. One of the suspects simulated a weapon during the commission of the crime. Loss was a cellular phone.
A 13 year old male juvenile was arrested after he brandished what turned out to be a replica handgun on an adult passenger. The incident stemmed apparently from an altercation between the suspect and the victim, the latter of whom claimed that the suspect had originally slapped him in the head. The victim followed the youth in the train demanding an apology at which time the youth produced the replica. The suspect was cited and released to his parents.
A patrol sergeant on routine patrol in the area of 14th and Broadway heard several shots go off. An Alameda County Sheriff's deputy, along with the BPD sergeant, located a victim with a gunshot wound. Paramedics were summond as Oakland PD, ACSO, and BART PD units searched the area for the responsible, who was shortly thereafter apprehended at the intersection of 9th and Madison Streets by Oakland and ACSO units. The firearm believed used in the shooting was also recovered.
