BART officers assisted SFPD in an area search for suspects who robbed the Payless Shoe Store on Market St. above the station. Two suspects were detained and but later determined not to be the perpetrators. One subject, however, was found to be in possession of marijuana for sale. Additionally, he also had $47,000 in outstanding warrants including a felony warrant charging possession of narcotics for sale. The subject was booked on the above charge and warrants.
A 15 year old male suspect snatched a BART ticket from a patron's hand and fled. The patron was able to capture and hold the suspect until an officer arrived. The suspect had an outstanding no-bail vandalism warrant and was booked at Juvenile Hall.
A subject reported to be in possession of a stolen fare voucher was arrested and booked after a foot chase. The subject attempted to flee when it was determined that he was wanted out of Texas for a no-bail probation violation warrant (sexual assault on a child). Texas authorities will extradite.
Patrons reported a fight brewing on board a Pittsburg bound train at Lafayette station. One of the involved parties was found to have an extraditable outstanding felony warrant charging failure to report an accident out of Illinois. The subject was arrested and booked on the warrant without incident.
A BART employee witnessed a male and female engaged in an argument in the parking lot. The witness was able to see that the male had a handgun tucked in his waistband. Responding officers located the suspect a block from the station and took him into custody without incident. The handgun, which was loaded, was recovered. The suspect was booked for being in possession of a loaded firearm in addition to a $10,000 warrant out of Berkeley for battery.
An officer on patrol on-viewed and detained an adult male acting suspiciously in the parking structure. The subject was subsequently arrested and booked on an outstanding no-bail felony narcotics violation warrant issued by the California Department of Corrections.
Officers contacted a man for fare evasion at 16th St. station. Officers subsequently arrested him for a felony narcotics warrant, and possession of drug paraphernalia. The suspect was booked at the San Francisco Hall of Justice. 0612-2470 L21.
Officers escorted an adult male off a Richmond bound train at the Coliseum station after patrons reported that he was drinking in public. Officers determined the suspect had multiple warrants for his arrest. The suspect was booked at Santa Rita Jail. 0612-1504 L21.
