A warrant check on a person detained for fare evasion revealed an active stay away order from all BART stations. The person was cited for fare evasion, and was placed under arrest for violation of the court order and also for outstanding arrest warrants out of San Francisco for failure to appear in court totaling $5,000.00.A sergeant arrived at the scene to approve the arrest and debrief the suspect.
The station agent reported a subject at the station who is known to have an active court order barring him from all BART properties. Officers responded and located the subject in the station’s parking lot, and arrested him for violating the court order. A search of the subject, incident to the arrest, revealed he was in possession of altered BART tickets and a switchblade knife. A sergeant responded to approve the arrest and debrief the subject. The subject was then booked into the county jail for violating the court order, possessing altered fare media and for possessing the dangerous weapon.
An Officer saw a female that he knew had a prohibition order excluding her from using BART. The female was also in the transit system without a ticket. The female was clear of warrants and Dispatch confirmed the prohibition order was valid. The female was issued a citation for fare evasion and for violation of the prohibition order. She signed both citations and was released.
