While on patrol, officers observed a subject they knew to have a stay away order from the station.  The officers contacted and detained the subject and discovered he had a court order issued from Alameda County to stay away from all BART Stations.  The suspect was arrested and booked into the Santa Rita Jail for violation of a court order.  A sergeant responded to approve the arrest.

A male was attempting to sell BART tickets without a permit at the Pittsburg Station.  An officer contacted the male and a records/warrant check showed the male had a court order prohibiting him from the Pittsburg BART Station.  The male was placed under arrest for violation of a court order.  During a search incident to arrest, officers discovered the male possessed forged/altered tickets and the tools to make altered tickets.  A sergeant responded to approve the arrest.  The suspect was interviewed and gave a statement regarding the violations.  The male was booked on the listed charges at the Martinez Detention Facility.

An officer contacted an adult male for fare evasion and discovered that the male had a $3,000 warrant for possession of drug paraphernalia.  The male was also found to have a condition of his probation ordering him to stay away from all BART stations.  The male was issued a citation for fare evasion and booked into the San Francisco County Jail for the warrant and probation violation.

Patrons on board a Millbrae train reported a male suspect creating a disturbance on board.  The suspect was described as a black male, about 30 years old, 5'5" tall, wearing a white sweatshirt and dark jeans.  Officers intercepted the train and located a man matching the suspect description on board.  No complainant came forward, but record checks showed that the man had a stay-away order from all BART stations as a condition of his probation.  The man was arrested for violation of a court order and booked at the San Francisco County Jail.

Patrons reported that a man had jumped onto the tracks and then back up to the platform.  Responding officers located the man on the platform and detained him for investigation.  Record checks showed that the man had a stay-away order from all BART stations as a condition of his probation for a drug offense with the Oakland Housing Authority.  The man was arrested for violation of a court order and was booked at San Francisco County Jail.  There was no delay in service as a result of the man entering the tracks.

Officers working a plainclothes operation targeting BART ticket forgers/sellers saw a suspect approach several patrons and attempt to sell them BART tickets.  The suspect was known to the officers and had a valid stay-away order prohibiting him from being within 100 yards of the station.  The suspect was arrested for violating a court order.  Incident to arrest, several altered BART tickets, as well as the tools necessary and material necessary to alter additional tickets were found in the suspect's possession.  Officers also located a suspected crack pipe and identification and other paperwork belonging to another person.  The suspect was ultimately booked at the San Francisco County Jail for burglary, forging fare media, possession of altered fare media, possession of narcotics paraphernalia, misappropriation of lost property and selling without a permit.

The suspect was cited for fare evasion and placed under arrest for violation of a court order.

A BART employee reported a male and a female in a dispute at the station.  Officers arrived and contacted both parties, who are known to each other.  The female, who has a current stay away order keeping the male away from her, said that the male had come to her home and got into her car with her.  They drove to the station where the suspect grabbed her phone from her.  The female yelled for help to get her phone back.  A records check confirmed that the male was ordered by the court to stay away from the female.  The phone was not recovered.  The male was transported to the Glenn Dyer Jail and booked for violation of a court order and grand theft from a person.

Officers saw a male suspect inside the station who was known to have a stay-away order.  The suspect fled on foot when the officers approached him.  The officers caught the suspect in the 800 block of Market Street and took him into custody after a brief struggle.  A search incident to arrest revealed an altered BART ticket in the suspect's possession.  The suspect claimed to have medical issues after his arrest that required treatment at the hospital.  The suspect was cited for violation of a court order, possession of an altered ticket and resisting arrest.  He was transported to SF General Hospital for treatment.

An officer saw a male suspect tampering with a bicycle, and contacted the suspect.  The suspect stated the bicycle was his girlfriend’s.  The officer stepped into the police facility and observed the suspcet take parts off of the bicycle.  The officer and an assisting officer then arrested the suspect for theft.  A search of the suspect and his property revealed a drug smoking pipe and and cocaine.  A lieutenant responded to approve the arrest and debrief the suspect.  A detective was called in and interviewed the suspect.  The suspect was booked into the Martinez Detention facility on the listed charges.

An officer observed a male suspect smoking directly below a no smoking sign at the station and detained him for the violation.  A warrants check revealed the suspect had an active stay away order from the station and was on searchable probation.  A search of the suspect, pursuant to the search clause, revealed he was in possession of suspected heroin.  The suspect was then placed under arrest for the narcotics possession and violating the stay away order.  A sergeant responded to approve the arrest and debrief the suspect.  The suspect was eventually booked at Santa Rita Jail for narcotics possession, violation of probation, and for violating the stay away order; he was also issued a citation for the smoking violation.

A male was aggressively panhandling patrons for money and creating a disturbance at the Powell Street Station.  Officers responded and detained the male for the violation.  A records/warrant check revealed a court order requiring the male to stay 100 yards away from all BART stations.  The male was placed under arrest on the court order violation.  No one came forward to place the male under citizens arrest for aggressive panhandling and creating a disturbance.  Detectives were notified of case and officers are to interrogate the male.  1309-0915 L22 Update: While in custody, search/investigation revealed the made was in possession of narcotics, altered BART fare media, and tools commonly used to alter BART fare media in his possession.  Male was booked on the additional charges.

Officers responded to platform level in order to investigate the report of a suspect vandalizing train-car seats.  Upon being detained, the suspect was identified as having an active stay-away order, which stipulates that he must stay away from all BART stations.  He was then placed under arrest for violating the order.  A sergeant responded to approve the arrest and debrief the suspect.  Shortly thereafter, the suspect was transported to the Fremont Police Department’s jail where he was booked for violating the order; there was no merit to the vandalism portion of this incident.

The man was cited for fare evasion, and placed under arrest on the warrant and for violation of a court order. A warrant check on the woman revealed an active stay away order from the man. The woman was placed under arrest for violation of a court order. A sergeant responded to the scene to approve the arrest.

While on patrol, officers observed a subject in the station.  The officers knew this subject to have a stay away order from the station. A wants check revealed that the suspect had an active stay away order prohibiting him from the downtown San Francisco stations and that he also had an infraction warrant issued from this agency.  Incident to arrest, it was discovered that the suspect had a suspected “crack” pipe in his possession.  The subject was arrested and booked into the San Francisco County Jail for violating the court order, for the BART warrant, and for possession of drug paraphernalia.   A sergeant responded to debrief the suspect and approve the arrest.

A female victim reported that she was being followed by a male subject from Colma on a train bound for Millbrae.  The female said the male was staring at her and she asked him to stop but the male began to create a disturbance.  An officer responded to the station and contacted the male.  A records/warrant check showed the male had a court order preventing him from being on BART property.  The female did not want to press charges against the male for willfully creating a disturbance on the train.  The male was placed under arrest for violation of a court order and was booked at Redwood City Jail.  A sergeant responded to approve the report.

An officer responded to a report of a man threatening a woman at the station. As the woman was asking for assistance, the male took her cell phone and pushed her to the ground while they were inside the station. Upon his arrival, the officer placed the suspect under arrest without incident. The subject was found to have been in violation of an active restraining order in which he was to remain at least 100 feet from the victim (who was also his ex-wife). The suspect was placed under arrest for violating a court order, domestic battery, and was issued a 30 day BART prohibition order. A sergeant arrived at the scene to approve the arrest and debrief the suspect. Video hotline notified.

An officer noticed an adult male known to have a stay away order and tried to make contact with him.  The male fled, but was eventually caught by the officer.  The suspect was taken into custody without incident.  The stay away order was confirmed as a condition of his probation.  A search incident to arrest revealed a small amount of heroin and altered BART tickets.  Officers attempted a probation search of his residence (girlfriend's house) in San Leandro.  The suspect was then booked into the Glenn Dyer Jail for the probation violation, possession of narcotics and possession of altered fare media.

 Criminal Threats/Possession of Altered Fare Media/Violation of Restraining Order

El Cerrito del Norte - 1308-2730

A sergeant and officers responded to the station and detained an adult male suspect who, on or about 8/18, had reportedly threatened to shoot the victim, who is his ex-girlfriend.  The victim, who is also a protected party in a restraining order against the suspect, positively identified the suspect at the scene.  A search incident to the arrest revealed the suspect was in possession of multiple BART tickets, many of which had a face value of zero and one of which was found to be altered.  Upon being placed in the police substation’s holding cell, the suspect became uncooperative and had to be physically restrained by officers.  The on scene sergeant approved the arrest, but was unable to debrief the suspect as he was very uncooperative.  The suspect was then transported to the Contra Costa County Jail, Martinez, where he was booked for criminal threats, altering fare media, and violating a restraining order.  He was also issued a prohibition order.  A lieutenant responded to the substation in order to perform the use of force investigation.  No injuries were sustained by police personnel, the suspect, or the victim.

An officer on a fixed post detail at the station noticed an adult female known to have a stay away order.  The officer tried to detain the female, but the suspect tried to pull away.  The officer was able to take the female into custody without injury to anyone.  The stay away order was confirmed and the female was booked into the Glen Dyer Jail for resisting arrest and the court order violation.

12th St. Oakland City Center - 1308-1108

Patrons aboard a Pittsburg bound train reported an intoxicated male aboard the train that was threatening passengers.  Officers intercepted the train at the 12th Street Station and removed the male from the train.  The male was in possession of an opened 48 oz. can of beer.  A record/warrant check revealed the male had a court "stay away" order prohibiting him from being on BART.  Officers determined the male was too intoxicate to care for himself so he was placed under arrest for public intoxication and the court order violation.  He received a citation for the open container.  A sergeant approved the report and the male was booked at the Glenn Dyer Jail.
