An officer responded to the North Berkeley Station for a report of a female creating a disturbance on a Richmond bound train. The officer contacted the female and a records check revealed she had a court order prohibiting her from being on BART property. The female resisted the officer as he attempted to place her under arrest for the court order. The officer was able to secure the female in handcuffs and the female began threatening to harm the officer. The female made spontaneous statements to the officer that led to her being placed on an emergency psychiatric hold. Once cleared, the female will be booked into Santa Rita Jail for violation of a court order and resisting arrest.

Officers responded to the station in order to perform a welfare check upon an adult male who, according to the station agent, appeared to be under the influence of a narcotic and in the company of a small child. On the officers’ arrival, the subject was observed passed out and the child (later identified as the subject’s two year old son) resting on top of him. The officers managed to awaken the subject and determined he was too intoxicated to care for himself, or the safety of his son, due to his level of inebriation. The subject then provided false identification, but the officers were able to positively identify him and discovered he was on searchable probation for a DUI-related conviction. A subsequent search of the subject also revealed he was in possession of Marijuana for sales. The subject was then placed under arrest for public intoxication, child endangerment, falsely identifying himself to police, possession of Marijuana for sale, and probation violation. A sergeant responded to approve the arrest. The child’s adult aunt arrived at the station and took custody of the child. The subject was then issued a prohibition order and booked into the county jail.
