Officers responded to the street level plaza for a report of a female passed out possibly requiring medical attention. Upon their arrival the female was in the back of the ambulance receiving medical attention from the paramedics that were already on the scene. As the officers were at the ambulance trying to talk to the victim they were contacted by a female who told them that the female in the ambulance had been sexually assaulted by a male that was currently sitting in the plaza. As they were talking to the first female a second female approached them and told them that she had pepper sprayed the possible male suspect in the face. The female victim was subsequently transported to the hospital. The male was detained pending further investigation. A Sergeant, evidence technician, and Detective responded to the hospital. The investigation is still on-going.
A woman witnessed a man masturbating while sitting next to her on a Millbrae bound train approaching the station. Upon arrival, officers detained a person matching the description given by the woman. The suspect was positively identified by the victim and placed under arrest for indecent exposure. 1206-2229 L12.
Officers responded to the #2 platform to investigate a report of a male exposing himself. They contacted a victim who pointed out a suspect . She stated the suspect had removed his penis from his pants and urinated on the seats and floor. The suspect then left his penis exposed for several minutes waving it around. The victim placed the suspect under Citizens Arrest for Indecent Exposure and Urinating on a Public Transit Vehicle. The suspect, who has many BART Police contacts, had no prior Indecent Exposure arrests. He is currently on probation for Battery and Public Intoxication. He was booked at the Martinez Detention Facility.
BART PD officers responded to the Fremont station on a report from an anonymous patron that a male subject, described as a BM, wearing a blue cap, blue shirt and blue jeans was masturbating on a Fremont train approaching the Fremont station. Officers conducted a check of the train with negative results.
An officer responded to the station for a report of a man exposing himself near the parking structure. A subject was detained by the officer, and was placed under citizen’s arrest by a witness who positively identified him as the person who exposed himself. The subject was arrested for indecent exposure.
An officer noticed a known suspect showing another person an item that appeared to be narcotics. Upon making contact, the officer recovered a small amount of narcotics. The officer was also aware that the suspect had a warrant for his arrest. A records check confirmed a $10,000 warrant out of San Francisco along with information indicating that the suspect had not properly registered as a sex offender. The suspect was booked for the warrant, failure to register and for possession of narcotics paraphernalia. The recovered narcotics was not enough to be chargeable in San Francisco County.
A female patron called to report that while she was walking on the access road, a male ran up behind her, grabbed her buttocks and ran off of the station property. She did not get a good enough look at the suspect to be able to identify his face, but described him as a Hispanic male in his 20's, tall and thin, wearing all black with a black backpack. She was not injured during the battery. Officers responded and canvased the area with negative results. Outside agencies were also given the suspect description.
The station agent called to report that a male suspect, who is known to her, had exposed his penis to her and began masturbating as he descended the escalator to the platform. The male boarded a train, which was intercepted by officers at the Powell Street Station. The male, who is also known to officers, was off boarded and detained. The agent responded to the Powell Station and identified the detainee as being the one she saw masturbating. The suspect was placed under citizen's arrest and booked into the San Francisco County Jail for Indecent Exposure.
A female patron called to report a suspicious male on the train who was reaching into his pants and masturbating while staring at a female patron. Officers intercepted the train and made contact with the male suspect. The witness identified the suspect and placed him under citizen's arrest for committing a lewd act in public. The suspect has prior criminal history for similar offenses. The suspect told officers that he wished to harm himself, so he was placed on a psychiatric evaluation/hold. Once cleared/treated, he will be picked up for booking on the lewd act charge.
A BART police officer from the Alameda County SAFE task force located a suspect who is a registered sex offender and was wanted on a warrant from the BART Police Department for indecent exposure. The suspect was interviewed by the officer and booked for the warrant.
On 3/20/12, the BART Police Officer assigned to the Alameda County SAFE Task Force (responsible for tracking criminals who commit sex crimes in the county) issued a bulletin for BART Police Officers to be on the lookout for a suspect who had recently been paroled for a sex crime and was now wanted for a violation of his parole. Today, an officer on train patrol spotted the suspect on a train and detained him. The task force officer responded to the station and worked with a parole agent to revoke the suspect's parole. The suspect was interviewed and then arrested for the parole violation.
The ISRC/police dispatch received a call from a local hospital at approximately 1631 hrs. today regarding a 24-year-old female sexual-assault victim who was at the hospital. The victim stated that a male suspect had entered the public restroom that she was using at the Fruitvale BART station late last night or early this morning. The suspect forced the victim to orally copulate him. The detective sergeant and a detective responded to investigate this case. (Suspect description: W-M or H-M, unknown age, “spikey” hair, wearing a green windbreaker-type jacket and blue jeans.) The A-plt. watch commander made the critical-incident notifications.
A female patron/victim reported a male suspect exposed himself and then put his hand on the victim’s head while they were on a south bound train approaching the station. The victim moved away from the suspect and off-boarded at the El Cerrito Plaza station. The suspect remained on the train. Suspect description: HM, 20-25 yrs, 5-08, thin, sht blk hair, blk polo shrt, blu jeans, hat. Officers intercepted the train at the Ashby station, and detained a possible suspect. Another officer met the victim and transported her to the Ashby station for an in-field identification, which yield negative results. The suspect is still outstanding.
The train operator called to report an adult male masturbating in the lead car of her train. Officers intercepted the train at the station and made contact with the suspect. The train operator placed the suspect under citizen's arrest for indecent exposure. The suspect was transported to headquarters to be interviewed by a detective. The suspect was then booked into the Glenn Dyer Jail for indecent exposure. Video from the train car was requested.
An officer contacted a male for fare evasion and discovered that the male had a $5,000 felony BART warrant for indecent exposure. The male was also found to be a parolee at large. The male was cited for the fare evasion and booked at the Santa Rita Jail for the warrant and a parole hold. The SAFE Task Force was notified and will be working to seek a stay away order.
A female patron was assisting another woman with purchasing a BART ticket. The two women were approached by an adult male suspect who began aggressively panhandling for money. The victim told the suspect to leave her alone. The suspect became irate and began cursing at the victim. The victim bought her own ticket and went toward the fare gates. The station agent witnessed the suspect's actions and came to the aid of the victim. The suspect followed the victim and continued cursing at her. When the agent's attention was diverted for a moment, the suspect lunged at the victim. The victim, fearing for her safety, used pepper spray on the suspect. The suspect then attempted to grab the victim's breasts before walking away. Responding officers detained the suspect and the victim placed him under citizens arrest. The suspect was booked at San Francisco County Jail for disturbing the peace, trespassing/interfering with the operation of a public agency and attempted sexual battery.
A female victim reported a male suspect grabbed her buttocks and waist area from behind, while she was descending the Westside stairway leading into the station. The suspect then fled to street-level. The victim does not know the suspect, but she can identify him. The victim stated she believed the suspect was “on drugs.” Suspect description: BM, 6-00, 30’s, blk beanie, white jersey shrt, blk jacket. The victim was not injured during this incident. Officers responded to the station and conducted an area search, but were unable to located the suspect.
At the request of the Alameda County Sexual Assault Felony Enforcement (SAFE) Team, BART officers assisted in while the team searched a residence for a sex offender who had not met his registration requirements. The suspect also had a felony narcotics warrant for his arrest. The suspect was found in the home and taken into custody without incident. He will be booked by the SAFE Team for the warrant and for being out of compliance.
Officers were called to the station for a report of an adult male who had become separated from two small children that he was caring for. Prior to the arrival of officers, the male was reunited with the children at the next station (with the help of transportation personnel). It was later reported that when the children became separated from the male, the male became irate and kicked a window of the train, shattering the window. Officers were able to locate the male on the platform and make contact regarding the damage. Officers were not able to locate any witnesses who would place the suspect under citizen's arrest for the damage. Train car video has been requested. A records check revealed that the male is a sex offender who is not in compliance with his registration requirements. The mother of the children responded to take custody of the children. The suspect was booked into Berkeley City Jail for being a sex offender out of compliance.
A tactical team officer working the Raider game detail spotted a male suspect whom he recalled had an outstanding warrant for failing to be properly registered as a sexual offender. The suspect was contacted and the violation confirmed via a SAFE Task Force officer from BART. The suspect was arrested and booked for the above violation.
An officer made a consensual contact with an individual who had been hanging out near the parking structure. During the conversation, the subject revealed that he is a registered sex offender. The officer checked and discovered that the subject was out of compliance. The subject was booked into the Hayward City Jail for being a sex offender who failed to register.
A 19-year-old woman reported that a male suspect made her enter a public restroom, sexually assaulted her, then fled. Two sergeants and the CAP Team responded to the scene. The victim was not physically injured. A detective is leading the investigation. (suspect description: B-M, approx. 21years old, tall with athletic build, short hair of unknown color, baseball cap of unknown color, brown jacket, blue jeans)
An Officer conducted a welfare check on a female subject passed out on a bus bench. He determined she was too intoxicated to care for her own safety and requested an ambulance. The subject was transported to the San Mateo Medical Center. Upon arrival, hospital personnel advised she told paramedics she was raped by two white males. An Officer responded to the hospital. The victim was uncooperative but did advise she had been drinking in the station’s parking lot. A Sergeant also responded to the hospital. The on-call Detective was called out. The investigation is on-going.
A station agent witnessed and reported a male subject masturbating in the station entrance stairwell on the north side of the station. Responding officers initially could not locate the suspect. Approximately 30 minutes after the call for service, an officer spotted a possible suspect walking in the area of 20th Street and Telegraph Ave. When the officer attempted to make contact, the suspect fled on foot toward the 19th Street BART station. A second officer was on foot at the station and chased the suspect. The suspect was apprehended without further incident. The station agent positively identified the suspect. The suspect was on probation for lewd act violations in Alameda County and had an outstanding warrant for the same. The suspect was booked for the lewd act violation, outstanding warrant and probation violation.
A woman reported that her ex-husband tried to sexually assault her during a custody exchange in the parking lot. The victim said the suspect tried to have forced sex with her while she was inside her vehicle and he was outside the vehicle. The victim did not need medical attention. Detectives were called and the investigation is on-going at this time. 1109-2467 L12.
