An officer contacted a male for fare evasion and discovered that the male had a $5,000 felony BART warrant for indecent exposure. The male was also found to be a parolee at large. The male was cited for the fare evasion and booked at the Santa Rita Jail for the warrant and a parole hold. The SAFE Task Force was notified and will be working to seek a stay away order.
A female patron was assisting another woman with purchasing a BART ticket. The two women were approached by an adult male suspect who began aggressively panhandling for money. The victim told the suspect to leave her alone. The suspect became irate and began cursing at the victim. The victim bought her own ticket and went toward the fare gates. The station agent witnessed the suspect's actions and came to the aid of the victim. The suspect followed the victim and continued cursing at her. When the agent's attention was diverted for a moment, the suspect lunged at the victim. The victim, fearing for her safety, used pepper spray on the suspect. The suspect then attempted to grab the victim's breasts before walking away. Responding officers detained the suspect and the victim placed him under citizens arrest. The suspect was booked at San Francisco County Jail for disturbing the peace, trespassing/interfering with the operation of a public agency and attempted sexual battery.
A female victim reported a male suspect grabbed her buttocks and waist area from behind, while she was descending the Westside stairway leading into the station. The suspect then fled to street-level. The victim does not know the suspect, but she can identify him. The victim stated she believed the suspect was “on drugs.” Suspect description: BM, 6-00, 30’s, blk beanie, white jersey shrt, blk jacket. The victim was not injured during this incident. Officers responded to the station and conducted an area search, but were unable to located the suspect.
At the request of the Alameda County Sexual Assault Felony Enforcement (SAFE) Team, BART officers assisted in while the team searched a residence for a sex offender who had not met his registration requirements. The suspect also had a felony narcotics warrant for his arrest. The suspect was found in the home and taken into custody without incident. He will be booked by the SAFE Team for the warrant and for being out of compliance.
Officers were called to the station for a report of an adult male who had become separated from two small children that he was caring for. Prior to the arrival of officers, the male was reunited with the children at the next station (with the help of transportation personnel). It was later reported that when the children became separated from the male, the male became irate and kicked a window of the train, shattering the window. Officers were able to locate the male on the platform and make contact regarding the damage. Officers were not able to locate any witnesses who would place the suspect under citizen's arrest for the damage. Train car video has been requested. A records check revealed that the male is a sex offender who is not in compliance with his registration requirements. The mother of the children responded to take custody of the children. The suspect was booked into Berkeley City Jail for being a sex offender out of compliance.
A tactical team officer working the Raider game detail spotted a male suspect whom he recalled had an outstanding warrant for failing to be properly registered as a sexual offender. The suspect was contacted and the violation confirmed via a SAFE Task Force officer from BART. The suspect was arrested and booked for the above violation.
An officer made a consensual contact with an individual who had been hanging out near the parking structure. During the conversation, the subject revealed that he is a registered sex offender. The officer checked and discovered that the subject was out of compliance. The subject was booked into the Hayward City Jail for being a sex offender who failed to register.
A 19-year-old woman reported that a male suspect made her enter a public restroom, sexually assaulted her, then fled. Two sergeants and the CAP Team responded to the scene. The victim was not physically injured. A detective is leading the investigation. (suspect description: B-M, approx. 21years old, tall with athletic build, short hair of unknown color, baseball cap of unknown color, brown jacket, blue jeans)
An Officer conducted a welfare check on a female subject passed out on a bus bench. He determined she was too intoxicated to care for her own safety and requested an ambulance. The subject was transported to the San Mateo Medical Center. Upon arrival, hospital personnel advised she told paramedics she was raped by two white males. An Officer responded to the hospital. The victim was uncooperative but did advise she had been drinking in the station’s parking lot. A Sergeant also responded to the hospital. The on-call Detective was called out. The investigation is on-going.
A station agent witnessed and reported a male subject masturbating in the station entrance stairwell on the north side of the station. Responding officers initially could not locate the suspect. Approximately 30 minutes after the call for service, an officer spotted a possible suspect walking in the area of 20th Street and Telegraph Ave. When the officer attempted to make contact, the suspect fled on foot toward the 19th Street BART station. A second officer was on foot at the station and chased the suspect. The suspect was apprehended without further incident. The station agent positively identified the suspect. The suspect was on probation for lewd act violations in Alameda County and had an outstanding warrant for the same. The suspect was booked for the lewd act violation, outstanding warrant and probation violation.
A woman reported that her ex-husband tried to sexually assault her during a custody exchange in the parking lot. The victim said the suspect tried to have forced sex with her while she was inside her vehicle and he was outside the vehicle. The victim did not need medical attention. Detectives were called and the investigation is on-going at this time. 1109-2467 L12.
Officers responded to the station on a report by two 19-year old females that they were just sexually battered behind the garbage dumpsters at the south end of the bus zone. The two suspects were described as young black males and were gone on arrival; and are not known to the victims. Detectives and evidence technician(s) responded to the scene to conduct an investigation. After being interviewed by dectectives, both females admitted their sexual encounters were consensual and no crime committed. Detectives will pursue a complaint against the females for making a false criminal report.
A BART employee witnessed a male adult masturbate with his exposed penis while on the platform. Upon the officers' arrival, the male was positively identified by the BART employee. The male was arrested for indecent exposure and booked at the San Francisco Jail. 1108-3682 L12.
A subject was reportedly masturbating on board a train at the Dublin Station. The Train Operator was the reporting party and the victim. Officers intercepted the train at the Castro Valley Station. The train operator identified the suspect to officers and placed him under citizens’ arrest. The suspect was taken into custody and booked for Lewd Conduct in Public at the Santa Rita Jail.
A sergeant responded to the station on a report of a male subject on the platform with his pants down and genitals exposed. The suspect entered a train and proceeded to walk thought the consist, purposely wiggling his genitalia. The sergeant contacted the subject on the train and detained him. The victim/witness placed the suspect under arrest for indecent exposure. The suspect was booked at SF city jail.
A victim reported that a subject grabbed her buttocks and while on board a Pittsburg train approaching the station. The victim confronted the suspect and the suspect through a plastic bottle at her. Officers arrived at the station and the victim pointed out the suspect but declined to make a citizen’s arrest. The officers discovered the subject had a no bail violation of parole warrant out of the California Department of Corrections. The suspect was taken to Highland Hospital to be medically cleared prior to booking at the Santa Rita Jail. No charges were made for the sexual battery.
A female victim waiting at the station for a ride, reported a male suspect (Daniel Wagner, WM, 06/15/1963) masturbating in a vehicle near her, purposely exposing himself to her. Officer David Greene and Officer Tony Spears contacted the suspect and discovered he is a (290) sex registrant with prior convictions for lewd acts in public. The suspect was arrested for the lewd act in public violation and booked at the Martinez Detention Facility.
08/04/11–0485 Hours BART officers contacted a subject on the platform for fare evasion. A warrant check revealed two outstanding warrants out of Alameda County. The first warrant ($10,000.00) is for possession of a controlled substance, and the second warrant ($20,000.00) is for Indecent Exposure. The warrants were confirmed and the subject was taken into custody. The subject was debriefed by a sergeant concerning criminal activity in the BART system with negative results. The subject was cited on a citizen arrest by the station agent and transported to Alameda County Jail for booking.
08/03/11 – 1244 Hours A BART officer checked the welfare of a male subject sleeping on a train. The subject advised the officer he entered the system in San Francisco with no ticket. A check for wants or warrants revealed the subject was a sex offender registrant out of compliance. The officer confirmed the subject was out of compliance, and he was taken into custody. The subject was debriefed by a sergeant concerning criminal activity in the BART system with negative results. The male subject was transported to Martinez Detention Facility for booking.
An anonymous female patron contacted a female BART officer and reported a subject was in front of the station masturbating. The officer proceeded to the front of the station and observed the subject with his penis fully exposed, and he was masturbating. The officer identified herself and took the subject into custody. The subject was checked for warrants with negative results. The subject was debriefed by the officer concerning criminal activity on BART with negative results. The subject was booked into Glen Dyer Jail for Lewd or Obscene Conduct.
7/4/11 - 2322 The Station Agent reported that there was a black male in his 70’s masturbating by the payphones. BART officers arrived and contacted the suspect. The agent placed the suspect under citizen’s arrest for lewd conduct. The officer subsequently discovered that the suspect had a no bail parole violation warrant out of the department of corrections. The suspect was arrested and booked at the Santa Rita Jail for the warrant and Lewd Conduct.
On 7/6/11 at approximately 1955 hours, a BART employee notified BART Police of a male suspect in front of the station he had seen exposing himself on the BART train a few days earlier. The employee positively identified the suspect, who also had a $20,000 outstanding arrest warrant out of Stockton for child molestation, as the person he saw exposing himself on the train a few days earlier. The suspect, who gave a written confession, was arrested and booked at the Santa Rita Jail for indecent exposure and the warrant.
A female reported she was sexually assaulted at a residence in the city of Fremont and dropped off at the Union City Station. The female stated she is a friend of the male suspect. Fremont Police and American Medical Response were notified and responded to the scene. Fremont Police took possession of the investigation.
5/22/11 - 1756 A 19 year old black female reported to the on duty station agent that a black male suspect had just slapped on her butt while she was in the bus zone. The station agent was trying to get the female back to the phone to get a description when the suspect approached the victim and slapped her in the face. This event was witnessed by the station agent and a third party witness. A BART police officer arrived and the victim and witnesses pointed out the suspect, and the officer took him into custody for the batteries and a probation violation. The suspect, victim, and witnesses all gave statements regarding this event and the victim placed the suspect under citizen’s arrest for the crimes. The victim was treated by medical personnel at the scene for facial pain. The suspect was booked at the Santa Rita Jail for the listed offenses.
