Officers on duty at the Coliseum station received information that the Oakland Police were looking for an adult male and an adult female who were involved in a robbery in the area of the Oakland Coliseum. Acting on a tip from a citizen, the officers attempted to approach two subjects who matched the description of the outstanding suspects. The subjects fled but were apprehended after a foot chase. Officers saw the male toss a gun (later recovered) over a fence. The suspects and weapon were turned over to the Oakland Police.
A man was robbed of his cellphone when the subject he allowed to use it refused to give it back, battering the victim in the process. The suspect was described as a male 18-20 yrs., 5'7" in height and wearing a black hooded jacket with the hood pulled over his head. The suspect fled on foot.
An 18 year old female was robbed of her purse, cash, and an iPOD at the bus stop. The suspects were described as four males, 15 to 20 years of age, all wearing hoodies (with hoods up over their heads). One of the suspects was armed with a handgun. All four fled on foot and were able to elude a search by BART PD units, San Leandro PD officers and Alameda County Sheriff's deputies.
Staff at Marin General Hospital called to advise that they were treating the victim of a strong arm robbery that took place on 2/10/07, 2100 hrs. The victim indicated that he was approached at the bus stop by a male in his 20's who demanded his backpack. When the victim refused he was punched in the head/face several times and fell to the ground at which time the suspect made off with the former's backpack.
Officers responded to Coliseum BART station on the report of a large group of juveniles fighting. Upon arriving, officers discovered that during the fight a man had been beaten and robbed of his cell phone and $200 in cash. Numerous subjects were detained, but the victim was unable to identify any as being the responsible parties. The victim was transported to the hospital for treatment. 0702-1172, S39.
A female patron was the victim of an armed robbery as she was making her way to the station from the west parking lot area. The incident occurred just outside of the parking lot, on or about Colby or Wagner Streets. The suspect, described as an adult male 18-19 yrs. of age, was armed with a handgun and fled into the residential area west of the parking lot. Unknown loss. Case turned over to the Alameda County Sheriff's Office.
An adult male was arrested and booked on a charge of attempted strongarm robbery when he tried to forcibly take a purse from a woman who refused him a cigarette. The victim was also kicked by the suspect during the offense.
A teenage male subject pushed a female adult victim and forcibly took her purse. The suspect fled on a bicycle. Loss was cash and miscellaneous property. Officers were unable to locate the suspect. No medical attention required for the victim.
A woman was robbed of her purse and eventually her automobile in parking lot "A" of the station by a male in his 20's who was armed with a handgun. Oakland Police later spotted the vehicle and a vehicle pursuit ensued. The chase ended when the suspect crashed. The suspect was captured, taken to a local hospital for treatment, and later booked on charges of robbery, carjacking, and felony evasion. The handgun used in the offense was recovered by OPD.
A patron was robbed of his iPOD and a gold chain by three subjects described as two female juveniles and one male juvenile. All three were wearing hooded sweatshirts with the hoods over their heads when they approached the victim in the bus zone, punched him, and took his property. All three fled the area on foot.
A strong arm robbery occurred at the Civic Center station when an adult male suspect wrestled an iPod from an adult female victim while on the escalator to the street. The victim did not report the theft until 13:14 hours.
An adult female who off-boarded a bus in the bus zone and started walking towards MacDonald Ave. was attacked and robbed by three females aged 17 to 20 yrs. All of the suspects punched the victim and relieved her of her jacket and backpack which contained cash and other belongings. The suspects fled on foot. The entire incident was witnessed and reported by a Kaiser Hospital security guard who was at the station on a shuttle run to the hospital.
A patron reported that an unidentified male suspect grabbed her purse from her shoulder as she was about to exit the fare gates. The victim and suspect engaged in a tugging match for the purse with the suspect finally gaining possession of it and fleeing the station. Loss was a purse containing a cellphone, cash, and checks.
Two suspects approach two patrons onboard a SF train that was arriving at the Orinda station and demanded money. One suspect stated he had a gun. The victims off-boarded at Orinda, reported the crime, as the suspects stayed on the train. The train was searchd at the Macarthur station where the suspects were located. One suspect possessed a replica (toy) handgun. The loss was $5.00. The victims identified both suspects. One suspect was booked into Contra Costa County Jail. The other suspect was booked into Contra Costa County juvenile hall. No injuries reported.
A male victim was walking from the Target store to the BART station, when he was confronted by three male suspects. The victim ran to the station, but the suspects caught up to him in the midday lot. One suspect punched the victim in the mouth and another suspect displayed a knife. The suspects took the victim's cash, fled toward Hesperian Blvd., and were GOA/UTL.
A sergeant and an officer were on patrol of the Embarcadero station when their attention was drawn to a disturbance on board a train holding on the platform. They later took a 26 yr. old male into custody for attempting to rob a passenger on board the train of his video iPOD. The iPOD was recovered and the suspect was booked into the SF County Jail.
A patron was robbed of his wallet in the parking structure by two males in their teens. One of the suspects brandished a handgun during the offense. Both fled on foot. The victim, whose wallet was discarded by the suspects after they found little or no money in it, suffered no injuries.
An unknown male robbed a patron at gunpoint in the South Hayward Station parking lot. Loss was a wallet and cash. The suspect fled the area on foot and was not located.
A passenger on board a train was the victim of a strongarm robbery by two males in their teens. The offense occurred as the victim's train approached Civic Center station. Loss was a video iPOD and headphones.
A patron was approached in the parking lot by a male in his twenties who was armed with a handgun and demanded money. The suspect was possibly in the company of two other males who stood near a newer model four door sedan, blue in color (no further description). All subjects and the possible suspect vehicle were gone when officers arrived. There was no loss.
San Francisco police officers chased a robbery suspect into the Powell St. station, and followed the suspect as he ran through the subway toward Montgomery St. station. The suspect was apprehended at Montgomery St. station. The robbery occurred in San Francisco jurisdiction. A roll call for San Francisco officers was conducted before train service was restored.
