A 15 year old suspect forcibly removed a cell phone from a victim's hand while on a train. The victim was able to recover the phone and responding officers arrested the suspect for robbery. The suspect was booked at Juvenile Hall.
Two male juvenile suspects snatched a laptop computer from a patron, dropped the property, and then forcibly wrestled it away from the victim a second time, before dropping the property a second time and fleeing. Officers detained both suspects. One was cited to his parent for theft from a person, while the second was booked at juvenile hall for robbery.
A male victim reported that 10-12 juveniles punched him and stole his cell phone. Responding officers detained several juveniles, but the victim could not make an identification. The victim was transported to Alta Bates Hospital for minor injuries. The phone could not be tracked.
Two minors reported that they were walking on 19th Street when three males robbed them of their cellphones, one of the males had a gun. Officers responded and detained 2 suspects, however the suspect reported to have a gun fled the scene. The victims positively identified the 2 suspects as being involved in the robbery. Both cellphones were recovered from the suspects. One suspect was transported to Juvenile Hall and the other suspect was cited and released to a parent. At this time the 3rd suspect is still outstanding.
A patron reported a male punched him, took his cell phone and fled the station. Officers responded, searched the area and located a subject matching the description given by the victim. Sean Shelton (46 years old, Fairfield) was positively identified by the victim as the person who robbed him. Shelton was arrested for robbery and issued a prohibition order. The phone was not recovered.
Julian Ford (39 years old, Sacramento) stole a victim’s cell phone while on the platform at the Powell Street Station. Ford then struck two victims with closed fists. Ford was detained and positively identified. Ford was arrested for robbery, assault with bodily injury on a transit patron and battery on a transit patron. Ford was issued a Prohibition Order and booked at the San Francisco County Jail.
Two victims reported being robbed of their wallets and cell phones, about 20 minutes earlier. The suspects were described as three black males, wearing dark clothing, and with their faces covered. One suspect was armed with a handgun. The suspects fled toward downtown Hayward and were not located by responding officers.
A victim reported that he was knocked to the floor of a train by a suspect who attempted to steal his cell phone. The suspect was described as a black male in his 20's, wearing all black clothing. The victim did not report the incident until he reached El Cerrito del Norte Station.
A victim reported he was attempting to process his fare ticket when a male punched him in the head and took his wallet. The suspect fled from the station and was possibly in the company of another male who did not participate in the robbery. The suspect was described as a Black male, 5'10, wearing a black hat, black jacket, jeans and had a small Pitbull in his possession.
Patrons reported a male attacking another male after trying to take the victim's cell phone. Officers located the suspect after he tried to leave the area and he was identified by the victim. The suspect (Reuben Mitchell, 27 years, Oakland) had an $80,000 warrant for assault and a $5,000 warrant for violation of a court order. He was issued a prohibition order and booked into the San Francisco County Jail for attempted robbery and the warrants. The victim sustained minor injuries.
A victim reported a man pointed a gun at her and demanded her backpack while in the bus zone. After taking the backpack, the suspect threw the backpack and then fled from the station. The victim’s boyfriend pursued the suspect with negative results. There were no injuries and the backpack was recovered. The suspect was described as a Black male wearing a blue sweater and a white hat.
A man had taken another man’s iPhone while on the train. When the victim demanded his phone, the suspect threatened the victim with bodily harm and smashed the phone. The suspect later resisted officers while being taken into custody. The officers received minor injuries but needed no medical treatment. The suspect was placed under arrest for robbery, resisting arrest, and providing false identification to the officers.
While on train, a victim had his $700 iPhone 7S slapped out of his hand and immediately taken by a male as the train approached the station. The suspect fled from the station by jumping over a wall, and was in the company of two other males who did not participate in the robbery. The suspect was described as an 18-year-old Black male wearing saggy jeans and a dark jacket.
A male suspect tried to grab the backpack of a female victim. The victim was able to keep her backpack and other citizens were able to detain the suspect until officers arrived. The suspect was determined to be in need of psychiatric evaluation, so he was transported for evaluation with a criminal hold for attempted robbery. He will be booked once he is cleared.
A victim reported that a male suspect (Unknown race, 59", thin, black hoodie) tried to grab her cell phone as their Warm Springs bound train arrived at the 19th Street Station in Oakland. As he tried to flee the train, the victim was able to grab him and struggled with him to get the phone back. The victim was able to get the phone back and the suspect fled out of the station. The victim was not injured and the suspect was not located.
A patron on a Warm Springs bound train reported that a male suspect punched him and stole his backpack, containing a laptop computer. The suspect later threw the bag back on the train and the victim recovered his property. The suspect fled in an unknown direction and was not located by responding officers.
A female victim reported that a male suspect (BM, 25-35 years, 6', med build, black sweat suit) approached her as she was walking away from her vehicle to the station. The male, who was holding a large wrench, grabbed her arm to stop her and demanded her property. When she handed over her purse and keys, the suspect immediately used the keys to enter the vehicle and drive away. The victim was not injured and the suspect was not located by responding officers.
A victim reported that he was robbed of cash on Market Street, by a suspect who punched him in the face. Officers located the suspect at 7th & Market Streets and detained him. The investigation was turned over to SFPD.
Numerous passengers reported a male suspect trying to take a phone from a female victim and an ensuing physical struggle for the phone. The victim was able to retain possession of the phone and the suspect was later determined to have fled on a train. He was subsequently detained at the West Oakland Station. The victim responded and identified him as the person who tried to take her phone. The suspect (Anthony Layton, 19 years old, Vacaville) was issued a prohibition order before being booked into the Santa Rita Jail for an outstanding $10,000 theft warrant and for attempted robbery. The victim was not injured during the crime. Another male (Ezekiel Addison, 19 years old, San Francisco) who was originally detained, but physically resisted the detention, was not identified by the victim as being involved in the robbery, but he was booked into the Glenn Dyer Jail for resisting/delaying an officer.
A male victim reported being robbed while standing on the sidewalk near the bus zone by a man who pointed a gun at him and took his wallet. The suspect, who fled from the area, was wearing a hooded sweater with yellow writing in the front. There were no injuries.
