A cab driver reported that a group of 8-10 juveniles (BMJs and BFJs, 14-15 years old) began punching him and took his cash. The juveniles then fled the area on foot and one on a bike and were not located. The victim declined medical attention.
A patron reported that a group of about 10 black male juveniles stole at least two cell phones and fled from the station. Officers gave chase and detained three suspects at the station and in the Bay Fair Mall. The victims declined to pursue prosecution.
A patron reported that they were robbed of their cell phone by a group of 5-6 juveniles. The primary suspect was described as a black female, wearing a pink hooded sweatshirt. Responding officers were unable to locate the suspects in the area.

A victim reported that a suspect (with four other male suspects, all BMs, 15-16, grey and black hoodies) took his iPhone 6s plus from his hand and ran out of the train at the station at the Coliseum Station. One of the suspects lifted his shirt to show his waistband, as if he had a weapon, but no weapon was seen. The phone was not able to be tracked. Two possible suspects were seen in the area, but fled before they could be detained. The victim was not injured and station/train video will be requested.
/21/17, 2124 hours A victim reported a male attempted to take his iPad from him while he was standing on the train platform of the Powell Street Station. The suspect knocked the victim to the ground but e was able to hold onto his iPad.
A female victim reported that she was on a Fremont bound train when a male suspect (BM, 19-25, grey hoodie, who was with about 4-5 other juveniles, BMs teens-20s) approached her and demanded her belongings. He then showed what appeared to be a black semi-automatic handgun in his waistband before taking her cell phone and wallet. He and his companions off boarded the train at the Coliseum Station and were not located by responding officers. Video is being requested from the train and the Coliseum Station. The victim was not injured. The victim did not have tracking enabled on the phone.
A male victim approached the station agent's booth to report that someone had punched him and took his cell phone while he was standing in the bus zone. The victim was having a hard time remembering what happened and requested medical aid, but refused treatment once aid arrived. He was unable to provide any suspect information. Station video will be requested.
A witness called to report a group of juveniles/late teens/early 20s (as many as 12 suspects) who were creating a disturbance on the train and eventually robbed a victim of their cell phone. The victim off boarded the train at Lake Merritt Station and confirmed that two of the suspects were armed with handguns. As the victim was being contacted, a second victim reported that he was also robbed of his cell phone while on a train at the Coliseum Station. The suspects (also a group of young males and females) off boarded the train at the Coliseum Station, but then re-boarded the same train as the victim and off-boarded at the Fruitvale Station. The train was held until officers were able to conduct a search for the suspects. They were not located. Station and train video will be requested. A victim reported that he was robbed of his cell phone by two male suspects. During the robbery, the victim was pushed down the stairs into the station. The victim suffered shoulder injuries and was transported to Kaiser Hospital for treatment. Responding officers did not locate the suspects in the area.
Four female juveniles were arrested at Richmond Station for attempting to rob patrons on a Richmond bound train. The suspects prevented victims from leaving the train and surrounded them in order to steal their cell phones. All four suspects were booked at the Contra Costa County Juvenile Hall for conspiracy to commit robbery and theft from a person, and false imprisonment.
A victim reported that a male suspect (BM, 16-17 years, black hoodie, black shoes) grabbed his laptop as the Richmond bound train pulled into the station. The suspect ran off of the train and as the victim tried to give chase, another male suspect (BM, 16-17 years, black hoodie, blue jeans) tried to trip the victim, but was unsuccessful. The suspects then ran from the area and were not located. The computer could not be tracked. The victim was not injured. Video will be requested.
A female victim was robbed of her cell phone while in the station plaza. The suspects were only described as a black male and two black females. The suspects fled westbound on 9th Street and were not located by responding officers. The phone could not be tracked.
Officers detained multiple suspects possibly involved in a battery on a passenger while onboard a train. The victim positively identified the suspects and placed them under citizen’s arrest. Suspects involved in the battery were issued citations and issued prohibition orders. One suspect also attempted to rob the victim of her backpack. That suspect was arrested for attempt robbery and battery and taken to jail for the listed offenses and given a prohibition order. The sergeant responded to the scene and approved the arrest.
Two suspects were responsible for a robbery and three grand thefts on board several trains in the Oakland and Berkeley areas during the morning commute. Loss included a laptop computer and several iPhones. The victim was aboard a Richmond bound train approaching the Daly City Station when the suspect approached and asked the victim to call his phone. The suspect, a Black male, mid 20-‘s to early 30’s, muscular, 6’02”, started punching the victim in the head and face. The victim handed the suspect his black iPhone 6, and ran from the train as it stopped at the station. The suspect remained on the train as it departed the station. The suspect was not injured and could not identify the suspect. The phone could not be tracked. Train car video was requested.
An adult female was walking through the North parking lot when she was approached from behind by three Black males, 19-20 years of age, all wearing black hoodies and blue jeans. The victim was pushed to the ground before being punched her in the mouth. The suspects took the victim’s pink iPhone 6s. All three males fled the area on foot. Medical was called and the victim was treated at the scene for a minor injury to her mouth. The victim was unable to provide the information needed to track her phone. Video is being requested by the investigating officer.
A female adult victim stated she was aboard a Millbrae bound train, seated in an aisle seat, when an adult male suspect approached her. The suspect grabbed the victim’s left wrist with his right hand while holding a long silver tool (possibly a tire iron) in his left hand. The victim, who was not injured, does not recall the suspect saying anything to her. However, fearing for her safety, the victim gave the suspect her cell phone that she was holding in her hands. Several passengers came to the victim’s aide, at which time the suspect threw the victims cell phone down on the train car floor and fled off the train at PPS. The victim retrieved her cell phone. The suspect was described as a Black male, 28-29, 5’6”, medium build, dark complexion, short dreads, 5 o’clock shadow, facial pock marks, wearing a black t-shirt with white lettering on the back, yellow florescent safety vest, dark grey pants with a green stripe down the pant leg. Officers searched for the suspect, with negative results.
