A victim was confronted at the station by two male suspects, who then punched and kicked him. The suspects removed the victims Jansport backpack and Samsung headphones and fled on foot towards B and Grand Street. An area check for the suspects yielded negative results. An officer is investigating the incident. Station video will be requested.
The victim reported that on 5/3/17 he was robbed of his jewelry, at gunpoint, by a male suspect while in the station’s bus zone. On this date (5/5), the victim saw the suspect at the station and called police. Officers responded, and eventually arrested the suspect, who possessed a portion of the victim’s jewelry; he was not in possession of a weapon. Subsequently, the suspect was booked into the county jail for robbery and issued a prohibition order. TSOC Notified.
A victim reported a male subject had approached him in the bus zone to demand money. The victim told the suspect he didn’t have any money and started to walk away. The suspect followed the victim and told him he had a gun, as well as made motions with his hands that he had a gun. The suspect also threatened the victim that if he called the police he would kill him. Officers responded to the station and were able to locate and detain the suspect. The victim was able to positively identify the subject detained as the person who had attempted to rob and threaten him. The subject detained by the officers was found to have been issued a prior prohibition order by BART. The male subject was taken into custody and booked into Contra Costa County jail for all his violations. The subject was also issued a new prohibition order for today’s attempted robbery.
A male victim reported that he was walking to his car on the third floor of the parking structure, a male suspect (BM or HM, early 20s, 5'11", grey stocking cap, dark jacket and pants) ran up to him and hit him in the head before taking his keys. The suspect then ran to the parking structure stairwell and was not located. The victim received a small laceration to his head and was transported to the hospital for treatment. A female victim reported that two suspects approached her as she was talking on her cell phone and walking through the parking lot. One of the suspects (BM, late teens-20s, black hoodie, white pants) punched her in the head, knocking her to the ground, as he took her cell phone. The second suspect (BM, late teens-early 20s, no further description) opened her backpack and took another cell phone before the suspects fled the area. The victim declined medical attention. Station video will be requested.
Officer arrested a subject for robbery and battery. The subject took a victim’s cell phone by force and then battered the victim. The subject was ultimately arrested for robbery and battery. A prohibition order was issued. Video requested.
A victim reported that a male suspect (BM, 18 years, grey jacket, beanie) approached him and asked to use his phone. When the victim handed it over, the suspect thanked him for the phone, told him to give him the headphones too and threatened to beat him. The victim handed over the Beats headphones too and the suspect and a female accomplice (BF, red headband) left the area and were not located. The phone was not able to be tracked. Station video will be requested.
Witnesses reported 50-60 juveniles jumping the fare gates and going to the platform. The juveniles boarded a Dublin train and committed multiple strongarm robberies of bags and cell phones. At least two victims suffered face/head injuries and were treated by paramedics. The juveniles all fled into the surrounding neighborhood before responding officers could arrive. The Dublin train was held for about 15 minutes as a result of this incident.
A victim reported that she was attacked from behind by a male suspect in a white mask while she was parking in the parking structure. The male punched her before taking her cell phone and bag. The victim was not injured during the attack and refused medical attention. The suspect was not located. Video will be requested.
A female victim reported that as she walked to her car in the parking structure, two male juveniles approached her, pointed a silver handgun at her, and demanded her belongings. The victim told them that she did not have anything and started to get into her car. One suspect handed the gun to the other suspect and the second suspect pointed the gun at her again. The victim got into her car and the juveniles walked away without any of her property. The victim, who was not injured, called to make the report. An officer at the station located the two juveniles near the station entrance and detained them at gunpoint. After additional officers arrived, the juveniles were handcuffed and one was found to be in possession of a replica firearm. The victim identified them as the two who tried to rob her. The juveniles were issued prohibition orders and booked into juvenile hall for attempted robbery.
A victim reported that their phone was taken from them while on the train between Fruitvale and Coliseum Stations. The juvenile suspect was described and was reportedly with a group of juveniles on the platform at the Coliseum Station. While officers were on their way to the station, other victims called to report that they were also robbed of their cell phones by the same suspect. The suspect reportedly snatched at least two cell phones from two different victims and threatened them by stating that he had a gun and would shoot them. Officers arrived and detained multiple juveniles on the platform and on the concourse level of the station. Only one suspect matched the description given by the victims, who were now at San Leandro and Bay Fair Stations. The other juveniles were identified and released. The victims were transported to the Coliseum, where two of them identified the detained juvenile as the person who took their phones and threatened them by saying he had a firearm. No firearm was located and none of the detained suspects were in possession of any of the stolen cell phones when they were detained. The male suspect refused to identify himself, so he will be booked into the Alameda County Juvenile Hall for two counts of robbery. No one was injured as a result of the incident.
Two black male suspects punched a victim in the face and stole his gold necklace. The suspects were last seen running toward Bay Fair Mall. Officers responded, but could not locate the suspects in the area.
Officers detained a suspect for strong arm robbery. The suspect took a cell phone from a victim and a struggle ensued. The suspect was taken to jail for the offense after he was given a Prohibition Order. An officer took the report.
A female victim reported when she was traveling on a Warm Spring bound train a group of 5-6 black male juveniles, all approximately 9-15 years of age, approached her and one of them grabbed her cell phone from her hand. The only clothing description was that they were wearing dark hooded sweatshirts. The victim reported she struggled with the suspect in an attempt to retain her phone, but the suspect was eventually able to gain possession of the phone and took off running downstairs. The suspect and other juveniles all fled the station in an unknown direction. An area check was conducted and none of the juveniles could be located. Loss was a black IPhone 7 valued at $800. An officer took the report.
The female victim reported that while aboard a Dublin/Pleasanton bound train arriving at the station, two Black male juveniles forcibly took her Apple laptop and iPhone from her grasp and then fled from the station via an emergency door. Responding officers were unable to locate the suspects, nor were they able to track laptop or the phone. The victim was not injured. The investigating officer requested station video.
Officer responded to the station to investigate a report of a robbery on-board a Dublin bound train. Victim was able to recover his property with the assistance of another citizen who was punched in the face by the subject before fleeing the scene. Officer canvassed the area and was unable to locate the subject.
Officers responded to the Hayward Station concerning a robbery that occurred in the bus zone. Two suspects robbed the victim of his items. One of the suspects was apprehended and booked into juvenile hall. The other suspect was unable to be located. Video was requested.
A victim called to report that three suspects (BMs, one was 19 years, in a red shirt, jeans with red underwear) ran out of the train car and out the 17th Street end of the station after one of them took his briefcase. The victim was hit twice during the crime, but refused medical attention. The suspects were not located. Train/station video will be requested.
A male victim reported that a group of juveniles (4 males, 3 females) took his phone and punched him before running out of the train and out of the station. Responding officers were flagged down by the victim, who pointed out two of the suspects. Both suspects were detained a few blocks from the station and the victim identified them as the males who took his phone and punched him. The phone was not recovered. The victim declined medical attention. The two juvenile suspects (ages 16 and 9 years) were transported back to the Lake Merritt Police Substation. Detectives were notified of the arrest. The 9 year old refused to give a statement and was issued a citation before being released to a parent. The 16 year old was interviewed and then booked into the Alameda County Juvenile Detention Center.
A male victim reported that he saw a group of about five suspects (Black male juveniles) walking through the train cars. At the MacArthur Station, one of the suspects grabbed his iPhone 7 form his hand and all of the juveniles fled out of the train and on to 40th Street. The victim gave chase and one of the suspects punched him in the face, causing some swelling. The suspects were not located by responding officers and they were not able to track the phone. The victim declined medical attention. Station/train video will be requested.
