A train operator reported a man refusing to extinguish his cigarette on the platform. The subject became uncooperative with the responding officer. Other officers responded, including two from the Daly City Police Dept. who arrived first. The subject continued to be uncooperative, physically resisted arrest, and was subdued with a Taser deployed by one of the Daly City officers. The suspect was arrested and booked for resisting arrest.
A sergeant and three officers detained five suspects for blocking an escalator to Hallidie Plaza West. Two adults were cited and released for possession of contraband. Two juveniles were released to guardians. A 17 year old female was a reported runaway from Woodland, who was captured after a foot chase through the station. A subject reported to be in possession of a stolen fare voucher was arrested and booked after a foot chase. The subject attempted to flee when it was determined that he was wanted out of Texas for a no-bail probation violation warrant (sexual assault on a child). Texas authorities will extradite.
A citizen pointed out four possible robbery suspects to a lieutenant. The suspects fled through the station and one of them dropped a loaded handgun. While an officer recovered the firearm, a sergeant chased down the suspect who had dropped it. The suspect violently resisted arrest, but was taken into custody. That suspect was arrested and booked for possession of a stolen, loaded and concealed firearm and resisting arrest. A second suspect was apprehended, and cited for possession of marijuana.
An adult male was arrested and booked after he brandished a handgun on a citizen in front of the station near the bus stop area. The incident unfolded when the suspect began harassing a young female who was waiting for her uncle and aunt to pick her up at the station. When the female rejected the suspect's advances, the latter became angered and spat at the female. At that point the uncle arrived and the suspect brandished a handgun tucked in his waistband when the uncle attempted to intervene. A BPD officer happened to be at the station and took the suspect into custody with the assistance of Hayward PD after a brief struggle.
A 26-year-old man refused to cooperate while being detained for fare evasion. It took two officers to take him into custody. One of the officers sustained an arm injury in the process. The suspect was booked at the Martinez Detention Facility for delaying/obstructing a peace officer and for falsely identifying himself.
A possible in-progress auto burglary was reported on the street adjacent to the Coliseum station parking lot. Officers observed a possible suspect who fled. The suspect was later located. The witness had left the area so a positive identification could not be made at this time.
