Officers attempted to detain a male suspect for investigation of possible domestic violence. The male (Adrian SMITH, 24, Antioch) was uncooperative and had to be physically restrained. Officer determined that the domestic violence report was unfounded, but Smith was booked at the SF County Jail for resisting arrest.
Officers placed a male (Chris Espinoza, 29 years, Oakland) under arrest for public intoxication, battery on an officer and resisting arrest. Espinoza was booked into a local jail and was issued a prohibition order.
Officers were flagged down by a bus driver about an unruly passenger (Daniel Kim, 20 years, Los Angeles). The bus driver placed him under citizen's arrest for interfering with the business operation (delaying the bus, refusing to off-board) and he resisted arrest. He was booked into the Glenn Dyer Jail for the interfering and resisting charges.
Officers contacted an adult male (Robert Saffold, 29 years, Oakland) for fare evasion and the male physically resisted being detained. He was booked into the Santa Rita Jail for resisting arrest and a probation violation.
Officers observed Donald Fosselman (53 years old,Oakley) fare evade. When officers called out to Fosselman, he walked to a payphone, pick up the receiver and slammed it down on the cradle shattering the receiver. Officers tried to make contact with Fosselman, but he ran. Fosselman was apprehended and arrested for fare evasion, vandalism, resisting arrest and possession of drug paraphernalia.
A station agent called to report a male making threats toward her. An officer tried to contact the male, but he ran. He was eventually detained and found to be too intoxicated to care for himself. The station agent did not wish to pursue a complaint for the threats, so the male (Steven Lewis, 28 years) was booked for public intoxication and resisting arrest.
Officers were dispatched to investigate a possible domestic dispute aboard a Richomond bound train. The train was held at the Fremont Station. Upon the officers arrival, a female suspect had a male passenger in a head lock. Officers tried to intervene, however the suspect became combative (kicking, scratching, etc.) towards the officers. Officers used a taser to subdue the suspect after a brief struggle. The male passenger fled from the train and was not located. It was determined that the suspect was in need of a mental health evaluation. Upon being medically cleared the suspect will be issued a Prohibition Order and booked at the County Jail for resisting arrest and battery on an officer.
Patrons reported a male, Gregory Piere (56 years old), had thrown his bike on to the track way at the 16th Street BART Station and then jumped down onto the tracks. Piere left the station prior to the officers arriving and went to the plaza on the street level. Paramedics arrived to assist Piere, however he became upset and agitated. When officers tried to speak with Piere he began acting erractic and a struggle ensued. Piere was arrested for public intoxication, battery on an officer and resisting arrest. Piere was also issued a prohibition order. TSOC was notified.
Two male juveniles (15 and 16 years old) were arguing with an adult male on a Warm Springs train. The juvenile suspects battered the adult victim and attempted to flee from the Lake Merritt Station. Both were apprehended after short foot pursuits. The juvenile suspects were placed under arrest for battery on a transit patron and resisting arrest. Both were issued Prohibition Orders and booked at the Alameda County Juvenile Hall.
A man had taken another man’s iPhone while on the train. When the victim demanded his phone, the suspect threatened the victim with bodily harm and smashed the phone. The suspect later resisted officers while being taken into custody. The officers received minor injuries but needed no medical treatment. The suspect was placed under arrest for robbery, resisting arrest, and providing false identification to the officers.
Mark Stewart (49 years old, Richmond) was detained for fare evasion at the Hayward Station. Stewart provided a false name and then resisted the officer as he attempted to take him into custody. Stewart was taken into custody after a brief struggle. Stewart was arrested for battery on a peace officer, resisting arrest and a probation violation. Stewart was issued a Prohibition Order and booked at the Santa Rita Jail.
An officer attempted to stop a female (Sharell Wilkerson, 28 years, Oakland) for fare evasion and she began physically struggling with the officer. Wilkerson was placed under arrest and was booked into jail.
Jerome Hay (50 years old, San Francisco) was observed masturbating on the platform at the 12th Street Station. Hay, who was under the influence of drugs, was placed arrested for the offense. Hay, who was in possession of a pipe used to ingest drugs, briefly resisted the arresting officer. Hay was issued a Prohibition Order and arrested for performing a lewd act in public, resisting arrest, possession of drug paraphernalia, a probation violation and being under the influence of drugs. Hay was booked at the Santa Rita Jail.
Officers responded to the San Leandro Station to investigate a report of three male juveniles burglarizing a Honda in the parking lot. It appears that two of the three suspects entered a black Honda CRV by defeating the door lock, while the third suspect attempted to enter a silver Honda CRV. After a brief foot pursuit, all the suspects were detained and positively identified. The loss is unknown at this time. The suspects were arrested for auto burglary, conspiracy and resisting arrest. The suspects were issued Notices to Appear and released to their parents/guardians.
Officers responded to investigate a report of a male subject masturbating on platform #2 at the West Oakland Station. After a brief struggle the male subject was detained. No one came forward to press charges against the subject. It was determined that the subject was in need of a mental health evaluation. The subject was placed on a psychiatric detention. The subject was transported to a local hospital. Upon being medically cleared the subject will be issued a Prohibition Order and booked at the County Jail for resisting arrest.
BART and Hayward Police officers got into a physical altercation with a male suspect who had battered his girlfriend while in the bus zone. The suspect was taken into custody after being tased. The suspect (22, Hayward) was taken to St. Rose Hospital in Hayward prior to being booked at Santa Rita for battery on officer and domestic battery.
Officers detained a male (Gregory Brinkley, 27 years, Oakland) for fare evasion and the male attempted to run from the officers. Officers had to physically restrain the male as he continued to resist. He was eventually handcuffed, medically cleared and booked into the Martinez Detention Facility for resisting arrest.
A male (Michael SAWYER, 53, Castro Valley) tampered with the sprinkler head in the station restroom, causing the sprinkler to activate. Responding officers contacted Sawyer, who behaved erratically and resisted being detained. Sawyer was taken into custody after a struggle. One officer was injured. Sawyer was transported to Washington Hospital for psychological evaluation, with a criminal hold for tampering with fire equipment, vandalism, resisting arrest, failure to register as a sex offender, parole violation, and possession narcotics paraphernalia.
Numerous passengers reported a male suspect trying to take a phone from a female victim and an ensuing physical struggle for the phone. The victim was able to retain possession of the phone and the suspect was later determined to have fled on a train. He was subsequently detained at the West Oakland Station. The victim responded and identified him as the person who tried to take her phone. The suspect (Anthony Layton, 19 years old, Vacaville) was issued a prohibition order before being booked into the Santa Rita Jail for an outstanding $10,000 theft warrant and for attempted robbery. The victim was not injured during the crime. Another male (Ezekiel Addison, 19 years old, San Francisco) who was originally detained, but physically resisted the detention, was not identified by the victim as being involved in the robbery, but he was booked into the Glenn Dyer Jail for resisting/delaying an officer.
An officer was struck in the face while attempting to detain a suspect. The suspect fled from the scene, but left his wallet with his identification. A warrant arrest for battery on an officer will be sought via the District Attorney's office against the suspect (Virgil Ard, 29, Oakland).
10/11/17 at 0020 hours Numerous patrons reported that a male and female were fighting on the platform and on the track way at the West Oakland BART Station. Officers responded and detained two individuals that were identified as being involved in the fight. The male and female did not wish to pursue a complaint. The male was sent to the hospital for a psychiatric evaluation after making suicidal statements. While dealing with the above, officers saw someone throw a purse from the platform down to a male on the street level. The male became combative when officers tried to investigate who the owner of the purse was. After a brief struggle, during which he punched two officers, he was subdued and placed into a WRAP restraint. The suspect was placed on a psychiatric hold and will be booked into the county jail for resisting arrest and battery on a peace officer upon his release. It was later discovered that the purse was taken from a female who had been assaulted on the platform, but declined to pursue a complaint. A supervisor responded to perform the use of force investigation. One officers sustained injuries while attempting to restrain the suspect.
Officers stopped a male (Dominic James, 21 years, Oakland) for fare evasion at the Coliseum Station. James attempted to resist and was taken into custody after a brief struggle. He was booked into jail for resisting arrest and violation of probation. James was issued a prohibition order.
