Officers intercepted a Dublin bound train at San Leandro for a report of an adult male challenging others to fight on the train.  The male was located and detained for investigation of public intoxication.  A records/warrant check showed the male had a "stay away" court order to be 100 yards away from all BART stations.  The male is also on court probation for public intoxication.  A sergeant debriefed the male but he did not have any information regarding crimes on BART.  The male was transported to Santa Rita jail for violation of a court order and violation of probation.

Coliseum - 1208-3312

An officer made contact with a female who appeared to be intoxicated.  The officer determined that the female was unable to care for herself and attempted to take her into custody.  The female resisted and after a brief struggle, officers were able to take her into custody.  During the struggle, the suspect kicked an officer in the leg.  The female was booked into the Glenn Dyer Jail for Public Intoxication and Battery on an Officer.

Pittsburg/Bay Point - 1208-1924

A patron called to report a male damaging a vehicle in the lot with a large piece of concrete.  The suspect was able to smash the windshield of the vehicle.  The witness reported that the suspect had boarded a bus and left the area prior to the arrival of officers.  Officers and dispatch were able to locate and stop the bus.  The suspect was off boarded and determined to be too intoxicated to care for himself.  The witness responded, identified the suspect and placed him under citizen's arrest for vandalizing the vehicle.  The suspect was booked into the Martinez Detention Facility for Vandalism to a Vehicle and Public Intoxication.

An officer noticed a parked vehicle with the driver's door open.  Upon further inspection, there was a male sleeping in the front seat.  The male was intoxicated and unable to care for his own safety.  Officers were unable to determine whether or not the vehicle belonged to the male.  Due to the poor condition of the vehicle, it is unknown if it was unsecured and/or abandoned.  A note was left for the owner to make contact with us.  The male was booked into the Martinez Detention Facility for Public Intoxication.

A BART Supervisor called to report an intoxicated male who was refusing to off-board an out of service train.  An officer responded and made contact with the male.  The officer determined that the male was too intoxicated to care for himself, so he was taken into custody for being intoxicated in public.  The male resisted the arrest, but the officer was able to take him into custody without injury to the suspect or officer.  The suspect was booked into the Santa Rita Jail for Public Intoxication and Resisting Arrest.

Officers on patrol observed the suspect with an open container of alcohol.  The suspect was also intoxicated and unable to care for his own safety.  A records check of the suspect revealed a $2,500 BART PD warrant for 369(i) PC - interfering with railroad operations.  The suspect was booked into the San Francisco County Jail for public intoxication and the warrant.

West Oakland - 1206-3286

Officers were dispatched to a battery/possible robbery at the station.  When they got there, they discovered that a female had battered a male patron at the station, and that no robbery had occurred.  An off-duty officer and a sergeant detained the female suspect.  The suspect, who appeared intoxicated, became combative and had to be restrained.  During the contact, she threatened and kicked at officers, kicking one officer in the face.  She had prior minor injuries to her face, and told officers that she had fallen earlier in the evening.  Due to her intoxicated/combative state, the female was transported, by ambulance, for treatment.  The male victim refused to make a citizen’s arrest or give a statement.  Once medically cleared, the female was booked at Santa Rita Jail for Public Intoxication and Battery on an Officer.

The train operator of a train at the platform of the station reported an intoxicated male who was threatening to batter the train operator.  An officer arrived and tried to make contact with the male.  The male attempted to push the officer and tried to pull away when the officer tried to restrain him.  The officer was able to take the male into custody without injury to the suspect.  The officer complained of pain to his shoulder as a result of the struggle.  The male was booked into the Santa Rita Jail for Public Intoxication, Resisting Arrest and Battery of an Officer.

Train Delay/Interfere with Railroad Operations

19th St. Oakland - 1205-1797

BART OCC reported observing, via surveillance camera, a suspect walk into the tunnel at the south end of platform #1.  A sergeant and officers responded to the scene.  The intoxicated suspect was found, lying face down and asleep, on the tunnel catwalk.  The suspect was debriefed by the sergeant, medically cleared, then booked into Glenn Dyer Jail for public intoxication and interfering with the operations of a railroad.  The suspect had several prior BART PD contacts for illegal lodging.  Train service was delayed for 12 minutes.

Officers contacted a subject who was sleeping on the floor of the station with an empty bottle of Vodka next to him.  They recognized the subject from prior contacts and knew he had a valid stay away order from all BART stations.  The stay away order was confirmed and the subject was taken into custody.  Officers also determined that he was over intoxicated and unable to care for himself.   The subject was booked into the San Francisco County Jail for violation of a court order and public intoxication.
