West Oakland - 1206-3286

Officers were dispatched to a battery/possible robbery at the station.  When they got there, they discovered that a female had battered a male patron at the station, and that no robbery had occurred.  An off-duty officer and a sergeant detained the female suspect.  The suspect, who appeared intoxicated, became combative and had to be restrained.  During the contact, she threatened and kicked at officers, kicking one officer in the face.  She had prior minor injuries to her face, and told officers that she had fallen earlier in the evening.  Due to her intoxicated/combative state, the female was transported, by ambulance, for treatment.  The male victim refused to make a citizen’s arrest or give a statement.  Once medically cleared, the female was booked at Santa Rita Jail for Public Intoxication and Battery on an Officer.

The train operator of a train at the platform of the station reported an intoxicated male who was threatening to batter the train operator.  An officer arrived and tried to make contact with the male.  The male attempted to push the officer and tried to pull away when the officer tried to restrain him.  The officer was able to take the male into custody without injury to the suspect.  The officer complained of pain to his shoulder as a result of the struggle.  The male was booked into the Santa Rita Jail for Public Intoxication, Resisting Arrest and Battery of an Officer.

An officer was dispatched to intercept a Dublin Train for a report of an intoxicated male disturbing other passengers.  The officer made contact with the male suspect and determined that he was too intoxicated to care for himself.  The officer also recognized him as having a "stay away" from BART condition on his probation.  The male was then booked into the Santa Rita Jail for Public Intoxication and for Violation of a Court Order.

Train Delay/Interfere with Railroad Operations

19th St. Oakland - 1205-1797

BART OCC reported observing, via surveillance camera, a suspect walk into the tunnel at the south end of platform #1.  A sergeant and officers responded to the scene.  The intoxicated suspect was found, lying face down and asleep, on the tunnel catwalk.  The suspect was debriefed by the sergeant, medically cleared, then booked into Glenn Dyer Jail for public intoxication and interfering with the operations of a railroad.  The suspect had several prior BART PD contacts for illegal lodging.  Train service was delayed for 12 minutes.

Officers contacted a subject who was sleeping on the floor of the station with an empty bottle of Vodka next to him.  They recognized the subject from prior contacts and knew he had a valid stay away order from all BART stations.  The stay away order was confirmed and the subject was taken into custody.  Officers also determined that he was over intoxicated and unable to care for himself.   The subject was booked into the San Francisco County Jail for violation of a court order and public intoxication.

The train operator of the Daly City bound train approaching the Fruitvale station, reported a male subject possibly drinking and urinating in the lead car.  The train was held at the station and the officer observed the subject with an open container of alcohol.  The officer off-boarded the subject and determined he was intoxicated and unable to care for himself.  He was arrested and booked into the Glenn Dyer Jail for public intoxication.

Construction workers called to report a male wearing no shirt and no shoes who was harassing them.  The responding officer made contact with the male and determined that he was under the influence of a controlled substance.  The suspect was also in possession of drug paraphernalia.  The male was booked into the Glenn Dyer Jail for being under the influence, being in possession of the paraphernalia and for a probation violation charge.

An officer was notified by off-duty officers of a possible DUI driver on Highway 4.  The officer observed possibly impaired driving behavior and conducted a traffic enforcement stop near Pittsburg Station.  The officer's initial observations confirmed that the driver was likely intoxicated.  CHP units were requested and they eventually arrested the driver for driving under the influence.
