BART Officers responded to investigate a report of a person “on all fours barking like a dog.” Upon their arrival, a suspect was detained. The subsequent investigation resulted in the suspect being arrested for battery and public intoxication. The officers located battery victims on scene.  A  Sgt  approved the arrest and debriefed the suspect. The suspect was booked at the Alameda County Jail.

Fremont Bound Train - 1309-0112

A patron reported that there was subject on board the train that inappropriately touched her.  While officers were en route, it was further reported that the subject was intoxicated and had fallen down.  The first officer arrived and determined that the subject intoxicated.  A second officer initially transported the subject to the Detox center where the subject resisted the officer.  A sergeant responded to the Detox center to conduct a use of force investigation and approve the arrest.  A third officer ultimately booked the subject into the Santa Rita Jail for public intoxication.    The original female patron who reported the incident stated that the suspect touched her leg at one point but that she did not want to press charges.

An anonymous patron reported that a WM, wearing a gray tank top and tan shorts, appeared to be drunk and creating a disturbance as he boarded a Richmond bound train at the Hayward Station.  Officers intercepted the train at the Coliseum Station and off-boarded the suspect.  The suspect was determined to be too intoxicated to care for his own safety.  He was placed under arrest for public intoxication.  The zone sergeant responded to approve the arrest and debrief the suspect.  The suspect was booked into the Glenn Dyer Jail for public intoxication.

Powell St. - 1308-3830

The train operator of a Fremont bound train reported that a male patron on the train was intoxicated and had slid off his seat and onto the floor of the train.  The male got off the train at Powell Street Station and was contacted by officers.  The officers determined that the man was intoxicated in public.  In addition, record checks showed that the man had an outstanding $5,000 arrest warrant for public intoxication held by BART PD and a $1,295 traffic warrant held by San Francisco PD.  The man was arrested for public intoxication and for his warrants and was booked at San Francisco County Jail.

 Robbery

North Berkeley - 1308-3087

While playing his guitar inside the station, a male victim was approached by another man who had previously robbed him. The suspect punched the victim in face several times, took the victim’s iPod Nano, and fled from the station. While being chased by the victim, the suspect turned around, took the victim’s guitar after another physical struggle, and broked the guitar by smashing it on the ground. The victim then lost sight of the suspect, who fled into a parking garage. The victim sustained minor injuries, but refused medical attention.

Walnut Creek - 1308-2978

An officer was detailed to the San Francisco platform to perform a welfare check upon an adult male who was reportedly unconscious.  On contact, the officer determined the subject was breathing, but was otherwise unresponsive and paramedics were summoned.  Shortly thereafter, the subject woke up on his own and was found to be under the influence of an alcoholic beverage.  The subject, however, refused to cooperate with the officer’s attempts to detain him and had to be physically subdued (via a control hold) in order to be placed in handcuffs.  A sergeant responded to the scene to approve the arrest, debrief the suspect and perform a use of force investigation.  No injuries were sustained by either the officer or the suspect.  However, due to a pre-existing skin condition, the suspect was transported to a local hospital where he was medically treated before being booked at the Contra Costa County jail, Martinez, for public intoxication and resisting arrest.

An officer was detailed to check on the welfare of an adult male who was reportedly asleep aboard an out-of-service train.  Upon contact, the officer determined the subject was too intoxicated to care for his own safety due to his consumption of an alcoholic beverage.  The officer placed the subject under arrest for public intoxication without incident, and a sergeant  responded to approve the arrest and debrief the suspect.  The suspect was then transported to the Contra Costa County Jail, Martinez, where he was booked for public intoxication.

An officer responded to the station in order to perform a welfare check upon an adult male who had reportedly urinated on himself while aboard a Richmond-bound train.  Upon contact, the officer determined the subject was too intoxicated to care for his own safety due to alcohol consumption.  The officer also learned the subject was wanted for two outstanding warrants.  One of the warrants, issued by the Alameda County Sheriff’s Office, charged a single count of DUI/no bail and the other, issued by BART Police, charged a single count of public intoxication and a total bail amount of $5,000.  The officer placed the subject under arrest without incident, and a sergeant responded to approve the arrest and debrief the subject.  The subject was then transported to the Hayward City Jail where he was booked for public intoxication and the two warrants.

An officer responded to a report of a subject smoking inside a Daly City bound train.  The officer located the subject in question and soon after placed him under arrest for public intoxication.  The suspect was transported and booked for public intoxication at the North County Jail.  Sergeant McNack responded to approve the arrest.

An officer responded to a report of a female suspect on board the Millbrae train who had an open container of vodka.  The officer located the suspect and discovered that she had an outstanding $10,000 arrest warrant for theft, held by Emeryville PD.  The suspect was arrested and booked at Martinez Jail for her outstanding warrant.

12th St. Oakland City Center - 1308-1108

Patrons aboard a Pittsburg bound train reported an intoxicated male aboard the train that was threatening passengers.  Officers intercepted the train at the 12th Street Station and removed the male from the train.  The male was in possession of an opened 48 oz. can of beer.  A record/warrant check revealed the male had a court "stay away" order prohibiting him from being on BART.  Officers determined the male was too intoxicate to care for himself so he was placed under arrest for public intoxication and the court order violation.  He received a citation for the open container.  A sergeant approved the report and the male was booked at the Glenn Dyer Jail.

Officers responded to the platform in order to intercept a train and perform a welfare check upon a subject who was reportedly on-board and “passed out.”   Upon the train’s arrival at the station, the officers contacted a male subject and began evaluating him for public intoxication.  During this time, a warrants check revealed the subject was wanted on an outstanding no-bail domestic violence warrant out of the Alameda County Sherriff’s Office.  The officers arrested the suspect for the warrant and, upon further evaluation, determined the subject was also too intoxicated to care for his own safety.  A sergeant responded to approve the arrest and debrief the suspect.  The suspect was then booked at the Alameda County jail, Dublin, for public intoxication and the outstanding warrant.

An officer responded to the station on the report of a suspect brandishing a knife aboard a Dublin/Pleasanton bound train.  Prior to the officer’s arrival, the suspect managed to off-board the train and walk to street-level where she was eventually detained by the officer.  The officer determined the suspect was too intoxicated to care for her own safety and placed her under arrest for that crime; no victim of the knife brandishing report came forward.  A sergeant responded to approve the arrest and debrief the suspect.  The suspect was then booked at the main San Francisco County jail for public intoxication.

A BART Officer  investigated a report of a male acting erratically. He examined the male and determined that he exhibited the signs of being under the influence of a drug. Cover Officers arrived on scene because the suspect appeared to be experiencing excited delirium. The suspect was arrested for public intoxication, possession of drug paraphernalia, a $700.00 infraction warrant out of San Francisco County, and fare evasion.
