Patrons reported a male attacking another male after trying to take the victim's cell phone. Officers located the suspect after he tried to leave the area and he was identified by the victim. The suspect (Reuben Mitchell, 27 years, Oakland) had an $80,000 warrant for assault and a $5,000 warrant for violation of a court order. He was issued a prohibition order and booked into the San Francisco County Jail for attempted robbery and the warrants. The victim sustained minor injuries.

The subject was transported to a local hospital. Upon being medically cleared the subject will be issued a Prohibition Order and booked at the County Jail for resisting arrest.

The victim was able to retain possession of the phone and the suspect was later determined to have fled on a train. He was subsequently detained at the West Oakland Station. The victim responded and identified him as the person who tried to take her phone. The suspect (Anthony Layton, 19 years old, Vacaville) was issued a prohibition order before being booked into the Santa Rita Jail for an outstanding $10,000 theft warrant and for attempted robbery. The victim was not injured during the crime. Another male (Ezekiel Addison, 19 years old, San Francisco) who was originally detained, but physically resisted the detention, was not identified by the victim as being involved in the robbery, but he was booked into the Glenn Dyer Jail for resisting/delaying an officer.

Officers responded to the station on the report of a male subject battering several customers on the platform and train. The suspect, later identified as Gene Mabry (37 years old, Oakland), fled the station and was located by responding officers in the neighborhood adjacent to the station. Mabry was identified by the only victim who remained on scene as the person who had battered him. Mabry was taken into custody and booked into Alameda County jail for the battery. In addition, Mabry was issued a prohibition order.

Oakland West BART Station - 1710-0822

10/11/17 at 0020 hours Numerous patrons reported that a male and female were fighting on the platform and on the track way at the West Oakland BART Station. Officers responded and detained two individuals that were identified as being involved in the fight. The male and female did not wish to pursue a complaint. The male was sent to the hospital for a psychiatric evaluation after making suicidal statements. While dealing with the above, officers saw someone throw a purse from the platform down to a male on the street level. The male became combative when officers tried to investigate who the owner of the purse was. After a brief struggle, during which he punched two officers, he was subdued and placed into a WRAP restraint. The suspect was placed on a psychiatric hold and will be booked into the county jail for resisting arrest and battery on a peace officer upon his release. It was later discovered that the purse was taken from a female who had been assaulted on the platform, but declined to pursue a complaint. A supervisor responded to perform the use of force investigation. One officers sustained injuries while attempting to restrain the suspect.
