An officer was at a service station in Union City, when he observed a suspect behaving erratically and harassing the attendants. The suspect challenged and resisted the officer and was in violation of a restraining order. He was arrested and booked.
San Mateo County Sheriff's Office advised that a suspect was being detained in Palo Alto that had threatened to blow up the Cal Train, currently at the platform at the Millbrae BART/Cal Train transit station. The train was moved to a spur track south of the station and was swept by SMCSO K-9s for explosives. Negative results.
A vehicle flipped over on the freeway and landed on the BART trackway in Dublin. CHP arrested the adult male driver for driving under the influence. BART officers assisted with traffic until tow trucks removed the vehicle. There was no damage to the tracks, but four fence posts were bent.
Officers responded to the station on a report by the station agent of a shooting victim seeking help. The victim claimed he had been shot in the leg, topside at 16th Street and Mission. The victim left prior to the arrival of medical and SFPD. SFPD confirmed the shooting in their jurisdiction.
AC Transit requested BPD assistance for a group of subjects gambling in the back of one of their buses. Three suspects were off-boarded, detained and turned over to Alameda Co. Sheriffs deputies.
Officers were flagged down near Del Norte station for a subject who had jumped out of his vehicle and began jumping up and down hysterically. Subject was transported to Contra Costa County Hospital for evaluation.
BART officers responded to assist a victim of a robbery at Broadway and 8th Street in Oakland City jurisdiction. The victim was badly beaten and the juvenile suspects were thought to have fled into the 12th street station. Officers checked the station and several trains but did not locate the suspects.
The victim of a strong arm robbery reported the incident to personnel at Bay Fair Station. The victim advised that the responsibles boarded an AC Transit bus that just left the station. The bus was followed by BPD officers who eventually stopped it and detained several juveniles, three of whom were identified by the victim as the responsibles in the theft of the latter's cell phone. The case was turned over to Alameda County Sheriffs.
