Officers spotted a known adult male from previous enforcement contacts inside the station. The officers knew the suspect had an active felony warrant and attempted to make contact with him. The suspect attempted to hide from the officers, but was located and placed under arrest. A record check confirmed the suspect had a no bail warrant held by SFPD, as well as an active stay away order from the Powell Street Station, held by this agency. A search of the suspect incident to arrest revealed altered fare tickets, as well as tools/indicia indicative of altering fare media, and drug paraphernalia. The officers also knew that the suspect has had several prior contacts/arrest for altering/possessing fare media, so an additional charge of burglary was added. The suspect was booked into the SF Jail on the various charges.

A victim reported that a suspect had stolen $20 from her hand. The suspect was described as a black male, with missing teeth, wearing a gray hooded sweatshirt, who walked with a limp. Based on the description, the responding officers arrested a man for the reported crime. A search incident to arrest revealed altered BART tickets, as well as the materials and tools need to manufacture additional tickets, and a suspected crack pipe. The victim later admitted that she had purchased counterfeit tickets from the man, and changed her mind when she realized the tickets were altered. There was no merit to the original grand theft report. The man was booked at the SF County Jail for possession of altered tickets, counterfeiting fare media, selling altered tickets, and possession of narcotics paraphernalia.

While working a Coliseum event, officers observed a subject (whom they knew was on probation) altering media fare. They detained the subject and also detained a second female subject who was involved in the proliferation of the crime. The female subject tried to flee at one point but was quickly subdued by one of the officers. The male subject was confirmed to be on probation out of BART PD for altering media fare. The male subject was arrested and to be booked into the Santa Rita Jail for altering media fare, probation violation, and burglary once medically cleared for a pre-existing medical condition. The female party was arrested and booked into the Santa Rita Jail for altering media fare and for resisting arrest. Sergeant Justice approved the arrest and conducted a use of force investigation.

The man reluctantly left the station and the agent followed him to the exit to make sure he was leaving. When the suspect reached Hallidie Plaza, he turned and spat on the agent. The suspect then fled to the MUNI platform, where officers detained him. The agent positively identified the detainee and he was arrested for battery. The suspect was issued a prohibition order. He was medically cleared for a pre-existing injury and was then booked at the San Francisco County Jail.

The subject was arrested for the warrants without incident, and a sergeant responded to approve the arrest. A search of the subject’s property, incident to the arrest, further revealed he was in possession of altered BART tickets, tools commonly used to produce altered tickets, and drug paraphernalia. The subject, who is homeless, was also found to be on probation for petty theft. Subsequently, the subject was booked into the county jail for the listed warrants and charges.
