A female victim reported that Mageb Hussain (31 years old, San Francisco) threatened to batter her while on a Dublin train. Hussain was arrested, issued a Prohibition Order and booked at the Glenn Dyer Jail for making criminal threats.
Daniel Carter (29 years old, Emeryville) was detained for fare evasion at the 12th Street Station. Carter was arrested, for a $25,000 misdemeanor warrant, and booked at the Glenn Dyer Jail.
A suspect snatched a cell phone from a sleeping patron on the train. An off-duty East Bay Regional Parks PD officer witnessed the theft and detained the suspect (Jimmy CLARK, 65, Transient) until BART officers arrived. Record checks showed that Clark had two outstanding arrest warrants: $5,000 for fraud, held by ACSO, and $1,000 for larceny, held by the Marin County SO. Clark was arrested for theft from a person and his warrants, and was booked at Glenn Dyer Jail.
A victim reported that he was robbed of cash on Market Street, by a suspect who punched him in the face. Officers located the suspect at 7th & Market Streets and detained him. The investigation was turned over to SFPD.
A male (Michael SAWYER, 53, Castro Valley) tampered with the sprinkler head in the station restroom, causing the sprinkler to activate. Responding officers contacted Sawyer, who behaved erratically and resisted being detained. Sawyer was taken into custody after a struggle. One officer was injured. Sawyer was transported to Washington Hospital for psychological evaluation, with a criminal hold for tampering with fire equipment, vandalism, resisting arrest, failure to register as a sex offender, parole violation, and possession narcotics paraphernalia.
Officers detained a male (Don STEVENS, 46, San Francisco) for smoking in the station. Record checks showed that Stevens had an outstanding $5,000 arrest warrant for resisting arrest and trespassing on railroad property, held by SF County. Stevens was arrested and booked at the SF County Jail.
Officers detained a male (Joshua SMITH, 22, Oakland) for fare evasion. Record checks showed that Smith had an outstanding $5,000 arrest warrant for fraud, held by SFPD. Smith was arrested and booked at the SF County Jail.
Sebastian Velasquez (21 years old, Oakland) was detained for fare evasion at the West Dublin Station. Velasquez was arrested for a $15000 misdemeanor warrant and booked at the Santa Rita Jail.
William Atkins (30 years old, San Francisco) became upset and threw a soda bottle struck a BART community service officer. The bottle struck the victim who was not injured. Atkins was arrested, issued a Prohibition Order and booked in the San Francisco County Jail for assault with a deadly weapon, trespassing and interfering with transit business.
An adult male suspect approached an off-duty San Francisco police officer, and threatened to batter him several times, on the platform at the San Francisco Airport Station. The victim used pepper spray to subdue the suspect. It was determined the suspect was in need of a psychological evaluation. The suspect, who was issued a Prohibition Order, was transported to a local hospital. He was later booked the Redwood City Jail for assault on a peace officer, resisting arrest and criminal threats.
Witnesses reported that a male was in a physical altercation with a female inside the station. Officers responded and detained the male (Deangelo GARRETT, 21, Richmond) for domestic violence. The victim was not injured. Garrett was arrested for domestic violence. He was issued a prohibition order and was booked at the Martinez Detention Facility.
A patron reported that a suspect snatched her iPhone from her hand in the passenger pickup zone. The suspect was described as a black male, wearing a red sweatshirt and jeans. Responding officers were unable to locate the suspect in the area. The phone could not be tracked.
A patron took a photo of an aggressive panhandler (Jasmine Turner, 28 years, Oakland) and she attempted to grab the victim's phone but was unsuccessful. Turner spat on the victim and threatened to physically harm her. Officers located Turner and placed her under arrest for battery and criminal threats. Turner was booked at Santa Rita Jail. Turner was issued a prohibition order.
A sergeant and 5 officers conducted focused enforcement for fare evasion at the Coliseum, Fruitvale and West Oakland Stations that resulted in 19 contacts (eleven cites, two arrests, three warnings, and three juvenile contacts). L22
BART Officers responded to the West Oakland Station with Oakland P.D. units to search for Sindel Botelho (20 years old, Reno) and a 4-year-old victim that she kidnapped from his father. Trains were held and searched at the West Oakland and MacArthur Stations with negative results. An on-duty station agent reported seeing the suspect and victim exit the West Oakland Station. Officers detained the suspect without incident. The suspect was turned over to Oakland P.D. units and arrested for kidnapping. L24
James Schlosser (59 years old, San Francisco) was detained at the Civic Center Station. A records check revealed that Schlosser was out of compliance with his sex registration requirements. Schlosser arrested for the violation and booked at the San Francisco County Jail.
Edward Mena-Chi (31 years old, San Francisco) entered track way between the Lake Merritt Station and the Fruitvale Station and began walking southbound. It was determined that Mena-Chi was under the influence of alcohol and too intoxicated to care for himself. Mena-Chi was arrested for interfering with railroad operations and public intoxication. He was booked at the Santa Rita Jail.
Eric Crawford (23 years old, Oakland) was detained for fare evasion at the Fremont Station. Crawford, who is on probation, was in possession of illegal drugs. Crawford was cited for fare evasion and arrested for possession of narcotics and a probation violation. Crawford was booked at the Santa Rita Jail.
Officers responded to the 7200 block of San Leandro St. to assist at the scene of an injury accident. Medical attention was requested for the injured party. Officers tended to the injured party, secured the scene and provided traffic control until Oakland P.D. units arrived to take over the investigation. The injured party was transported to a local hospital by ambulance.
Officers, medical and fire personnel responded to the station regarding reports of a male underneath a train on the #2 trackway. Shortly after their arrival, firefighters were able to extract the male from the trackway and he was then transported to a local hospital. The scene/trackway was processed for evidence, video was requested and a canvass for witnesses was performed. At this point, based upon information gathered by police, the male appears to suffer from mental health issues and will be placed on a psychiatric hold once medically cleared. Train service was delayed about one hour and forty-five minutes as a result of this incident.
