An officer attempted to detain a subject for fare evasion. The subject resisted the officer and force was used to detain him. The suspect (Bonner, Javare, 21 years old out of Hercules) was arrested and booked into the Martinez Detention Facility for resisting arrest.
While on patrol, an officer observed a subject running out of the paid area of station. The officer determined that a cell phone theft had just occurred and a foot pursuit ensued. At one point during the pursuit, the suspect threw down the victim's cell phone. The victim's cell phone was subsequently recovered. A search for the suspect yielded negative results. The suspect is described as a Black Male in his teens, 5'05 thin build, wearing a puffy jacket, and dark pants. Station video is to be requested.
A victim reported that a male subject (dark skinned black male, 25-30 years old, wearing all black) snatched her Iphone 6 plus and then fled towards Market and Spear St. The victim was uninjured.
A station agent and a supervisor contacted an adult male for fare evasion. The male spat at the two employees, striking them in the face. Officers arrived and contacted the suspect. He was identified and place under citizen's arrest. The suspect (Jeremy Freeman, 22 years old, San Leandro) was issued a prohibition order and booked into the Glenn Dyer Jail for two counts of battery on a transit worker.
Officers contacted a male (Blaney, John 27 years old, Oakland) for littering and being in possession of an open container. Officers determined that Blaney was unable to care for himself due to alcohol intoxication. Blaney was arrested for public intoxication and booked at Santa Rita Jail.
A female victim reported that a suspect (Black male, 20s, 6', black jacket, dark pants and curly hair) snatched her red IPhone 7 out of her hand while aboard a Dublin bound train at the Civic Center Station. The suspect exited the train and fled the scene. The victim reported the incident at the Powell Street Station.
A suspect (Black male, 30s, 5'7") defeated the lock on the station agent's booth located at the secondary end of the Embarcadero Station. The suspect entered the booth and removed a cell phone from the lost and found. The suspect fled after being confronted by a system service worker.
A victim reported that they locked their Jamis Aurora bicycle at the Ashby Station on 8/23/17 at 0800 hours. The bicycle was secured to the bike rack with a U-lock. The victim returned on 8/24/17 at 2000 hours to find their bicycle gone.
A female victim reported that a male suspect (unknown race, thin build, green or blue canvass jacket and black backpack) struck her across the face with an open hand and stole her gray IPhone 6 at the Embarcadero Station. The victim, who refused medical treatment, complained of pain to her face and left hand. The suspect exited the station via the Spear Street exit and fled the scene.
A female victim reported that two suspects (Black males, juveniles, dark complexion) on bicycles snatched her pink IPhone 7 out of her hand while she was standing in front of the Coliseum Station. The suspects fled the scene on their bicycles with the loss.
A male was reported to be under a train at the Bay Fair Station. BART Police, Fire and emergency medical units responded to the station but the male was declared deceased. The Alameda County Coroner responded and took custody of the deceased. The case is under investigation and notification to the next of kin is pending.
A sergeant and four officers conducted a fare evasion enforcement at the Hayward Station between 0800-1000 hours. Nine violators were contacted. Five were issued warning citations, two were issued citations and one was arrested for an outstanding warrant. L16
A victim reported their Peugeot 15-speed bike was taken from the Rockridge Station, between 1400 on 8/22/17 and 0000 hours on 8/23/17. The bike was secured with a U-lock to a bike rack in the free area of the station.
A victim reported the theft of their fanny pack containing a wallet, credit card and an IPhone 6 from the Embarcadero Station. The victim sat the property on a bench and it was stolen by an unknown suspect.
A train operator was conducting a sweep of an out of service train at the Dublin/Pleasanton Station. A male subject (Mixon, Myron, 30 y/o, Oakland) was awakened and asked to asked o off-board the train. Mixon struck the train operator with a closed fist causing her to fall and strike her head. The train operator positively identified Mixon. The train operator was transported to a local hospital for medical treatment. The suspect was issued a Prohibition Order and booked at the Santa Rita Jail for battery upon the train operator. The battery appears unprovoked.
Officers on a directed fare evasion enforcement at the Richmond Station observed a male (Francisco Hernandez, 39 years, San Francisco) attempt to fare evade through the fare gates following behind a patron but the gates before he could exit. Hernandez forced the gates open and was stopped. A records check revealed Hernandez had two arrest warrants totaling 50K. Hernandez was placed under arrest for the warrants. Hernandez was searched prior to booking and it was discovered Hernandez was in possession of narcotics. Hernandez was cited for fare evasion and was booked into the Martinez Detention Facility on the warrants/narcotics violation.
A victim reported that they locked their bicycle at the Dublin/Pleasanton Station on 8/21/17 at 0900 hours. The bicycle was secured with cable lock. The victim returned at 2045 hours to find their bicycle gone.
