A patron reported his $325.00 black and silver 2011 21 speed 17” frame Specialized Crosstrail mountain bicycle was stolen while it was parked and locked at the bike rack between 1000-1530 hours. The bike was secured with a cable lock.
A patron reported the theft of her men's 24-speed Giant bicycle. She locked it to the bike racks with a cable lock at 0930 and when she returned at 1058 hours, the bike was gone, but the cut cable was left behind.
A patron reported the theft of her blue, men's mountain bike ($100 value). She parked and locked it to the bike racks with a U-lock on 5/15 at 1900 hours. When she returned at 0200 hours on 5/16, the bike was gone. The U-lock was still attached to the bike rack and seemed to be undisturbed. It is possible it was not properly locked when the victim left it.
A patron reported that his black bicycle (unknown make and model) was stolen while it was parked and locked at the bike rack between 0830-1900 hours. The bicycle had been secured by a cable lock.
A patron reported that his $50.00 black Punc bicycle was stolen while it was parked and locked at the bike rack between 0645 hours on 5/14/12 to 0745 hours on 5/15/12. The bicycle had been secured by a cable lock.
The station agent reported that a man, who had loitered in the station for 20 minutes, had apparently stolen a bicycle. The station agent heard what sounded like metal snapping. He saw the suspect holding a severed chain that had an intact lock attached to it. The suspect then left the station with the bicycle, the chain, and the lock, heading towards Bosworth St. The owner of the bicycle later returned to the station and spoke to the investigating officer. The loss was a specialized Sirus 21-speed men’s bicycle, along with a Master lock and chain. The officer recovered two pieces of a severed link of the chain. The chain looked as if it had been severed with bolt cutters. (suspect description: W-M, 30 years old, 6-0, 180, thinning blond hair, unshaven, white sunglasses, black leather “motorcycle” jacket, blue jeans)
A victim reported his black E bike had been stolen. He locked the bike in the bike rack at 1700 hours. Upon his return at 1913 hours the bike was missing. The lock was still there but had been cut. The victim estimates the bikes value at $900.
A patron called to report the theft of his red Congo mountain bike. He parked and locked (with a lock and chain) the bike at the bike racks on 5/7 at 1800 hours. When he returned on 5/8 at 0900, the bike and lock were gone.
A patron reported their white beach cruiser bike had been removed from the bike racks at the station between 1100-1915 hours. The suspect defeated the cable lock and removed the bike and lock from the scene.
A patron made a report via telephone that his $100.00 21 speed Vista Esquire road bicycle was taken from the station while it was parked and locked at the bike racks on 5/2/12 between 0800-1930 hours. The bike was secured with a cable lock. 1205-0283 L12.
A victim reported his Schwinn High Timber men’s mountain bike, valued at $189 was taken while locked in the south end bike racks. It was secured with a Key & Go bicycle lock which is valued at $9.99. The victim did not know the serial number to the bicycle. The bicycle was left at 0815 hours and missing upon the victims return at 1325 hours.
A victim was on a Tri Delta Express bus in the bus zone when she saw a black male break into a side storage bike locker and take her bicycle. She was unable to get off the bus due to the doors being locked. The bike and suspect were last seen heading down the access road toward Bailey Road. No other witnesses were located. Unknown value.
A patron reported the theft of his men's 21 speed Le Monde Road bike, blue in color, with white tape on the handle bars. The patron locked his bike and helmet to the bike rack near the secondary station agent's booth on 4/29/12 around 1400 hours. He returned on 4/30/12 at 0920 to find his bike, helmet and locks missing. The victim locked his bike with a kryptonite U-lock and a cable lock. The victim was not able to provide a serial number for the bike. The total loss of the bike, helmet and locks was $390. There was no video surveillance of the area where the bike was stolen.
A woman reported that her bicycle (Columbia brand, men’s mountain bike, 10-speed, 24-inch frame, blue in color) had been stolen on 04/25/12, between 0750-2130 hrs., from the bike rack behind the ticket machine.
