A victim reported the theft of their black Kona Dew 27 speed bicycle from the bike racks. The bike was secured with a cable and U lock at 1130 hours, and when the victim returned at 1530 hours, the bike and locks were gone.
The victim reported that their black Public brand 10-speed, valued at $800.00, while it was secured at the station with a Kryptonite lock, between 1900 hours on 12/28/16 and 1130 hours on 12/30/16. An officer responded to take the report.

A victim reported via telephone the theft of their black, Bianchi Cortina, 21 speed bike from the bike racks. The bike was secured with a cable lock on 12/16 at 0700 hours and when the victim returned at 1900 hours on the same day the bike was gone.
A victim reported the theft of their grey Schwinn 28" hybrid bike from the bike racks. The bike was secured with a cable lock at 0830 hours and when the victim returned at 1230 hours, the bike and lock were gone.
A patron reported that she had left her bicycle locked and secure with a U-lock in a bike rack at the station on 12/2/16 at 08:00. When the patron returned on 12/5/16 at 08:00, she discovered that some unknown suspect had removed the lock from the bike, moved the bike to another rack and locked it with a new lock. Officers removed the unknown lock from the bicycle and held the bicycle for safekeeping until the owner could return with proof of ownership.
A patron reported the theft of bike parts from a bicycle that was parked in the bike station between 12/2/16 at 18:00 and 12/5/16 at 08:00. An unknown suspect removed the bike's seat and brake parts. CCTV evidence was requested.

The victim's bike, a black and red men's Schwinn 21 sp mountain bike, was stolen from the free area bike racks between the hours of 0740-1800. The bike was secured with a cable and lock. The victim could not provide a serial number and valued the bike at $150.
On 11/24/16, at about 0800 hours the victim left his silver Schwinn "Phocus 700C" mountain bike at the bike racks at the El Cerrito Del Norte Station, fastened with two cable locks. On 11/26/16, he returned to the bike rack at approximately 0900 hours and saw that his bike was missing.
Officers heard a male suspect banging on a bike lock with a hammer, in an effort to defeat the U-lock. The man was detained and a search incident to arrest revealed burglary tools and narcotics paraphernalia on his person. Record checks showed that the man was on probation for battery out of BART PD, and had an outstanding $5,000 arrest warrant for battery, held by BART PD. The man was arrested and booked at the Martinez Detention Facility for petty theft, possession of burglary tools, possession of narcotics paraphernalia, probation violation, and his outstanding warrant.
A victim reported the theft of their green Bridgestone Submarine bicycle, valued at $300.00, while it was chain-locked at the station between 0740 and 1810 hours. An officer contacted the victim and completed a report.
A patron reported that a male suspect was trying to cut the lock on a bike on the concourse level of the station, using a pair of bolt cutters. A male matching the description was located on CCTV cameras, and officers detained the man without incident. The man was ultimately arrested for petty theft, possession of burglary tools and possession of narcotics paraphernalia. He was booked at Berkeley Jail.
