An officer observing a suspicious occupied vehicle determined it to be stolen after running the plate. The driver of the stolen auto abandoned the vehicle and fled on foot as the officer was attempting to affect a traffic stop. A perimeter was set up with the aid of the Oakland Police with negative results.
SFPD requested assistance regarding an attempted residential burglary suspect who had threatened witnesses with a gun and was last seen running onto an east-bound train at Embarcadero station. Officers searched the train and West Oakland station, and located the suspect who was positively identified by the witnesses. Suspect was turned over to SFPD.
Near Fruitvale Station, a citizen notified officers of a male beating a female. When officers approached the pair, the male ran, but was apprehended. The male is the biological father of the woman's child. The woman had been battered, but her injuries were not serious. The male was arrested and booked.
In what was originally reported as having occurred in Oakland PD's jurisdiction, the proprietor of the liquor store across the street from the station had his wallet ripped from his pants by a gang of youths. The victim had come to the aid of another citizen who was being harassed by the suspects. The offense occurred on property in the parking lot. The wallet was later recovered minus a small amount of cash.
Patrons reported an adult male threatening and freightening passengers on board a Dublin-Pleasanton bound train approaching West Oakland Station. Responding officers off-boarded the subject and determined that he was in need of psychiatric evaluation.
Officers responded to a report of a man beating his two year old daughter in the women's restroom. Outraged patrons watched as the man dragged his daughter down the street and at one point bit the child on her arm. The father was taken into custody and the child turned over to juvenile protective services.
A passenger was struck in the face while on board a Daly City bound train approaching West Oakland Station. The suspect, described as an adult male, 18-22 yrs. of age, off-boarded at West Oakland Station and was able to leave the area prior to the arrival of responding officers.
Frightened patrons aboard a Pittsburg bound train reported a suspect on-board brandishing a large knife. Officers arrived, recovered a large butcher knife, and placed the combative suspect in custody. The suspect was committed for evaluation.
A car stopped for a registration violation resulted in the driver being arrested and booked on an outstanding no-bail felony warrant. The driver also gave false identification information to the officer and was subsequently charged for that offense and was also held on a felony probation violation.
At 8:00 am two subjects were overheard discussing a bomb that had been planted on a San Francisco bound train. The train was held at the West Oakland Station. The station was evacuated while a search was conducted. Nothing was found. The trains were delayed about one hour. L17
A patron on board an east-bound train approaching West Oakland Station had his laptop computer snatched from his possession by an adult male in his 20's who fled the train/station. Responding units set up a perimeter after the suspect was spotted fleeing into the yards near 9th and Center. UTL.
Plainclothes officers were doing a surveillance at West Oakland station and arrested an adult male for auto burglary. The suspect who used a hammer to break the window of a vehicle was booked at the Glenn Dyer jail for burglary and a parole violation.
BART communications received a call that an adult male was involved in a domestic dispute with an adult female at the Embarcadero Station. The two boarded an East Bay bound train. BART Officers intercepted the train at West Oakland. Both parties were located. The male was determined to be publicly intoxicated and booked at the Santa Rita Jail. The female party was transported to her home in Oakland.
