An officer responded to the platform of the West Oakland Station for a report of a male and female pushing each other. When the officer arrived, the male and female were in a heated argument. A records check revealed the male had a no-bail arrest warrant. The male was booked at the Glenn Dyer Jail.
A female victim was seated on a bench in front of the station when a male suspect (5'7"-5'8", thin, black hoodie) hit her hand as he grabbed her iPhone 6 and fled on foot. The suspect could not be located. The phone could not be tracked. The victim declined any medical attention. Station video will be requested.
An officer responded to a report of a male and female fighting at the station. The officer located both parties and detained them in handcuffs. Additional officers arrived to assist. Both parties were booked for domestic battery.
A victim reported that their vehicle was burglarized while parked in the lot between 1530-2200 hours. There was no damage to the vehicle, so the method of entry is unknown and only some miscellaneous personal items were taken. The vehicle was processed for evidence.
A male suspect (Steven SCOTT, 36, San Francisco) was arrested for committing a lewd act in public, and found to be on active probation for a similar offense. During the booking process, the suspect ingested potential narcotics so he was transported to a local hospital for medical attention. Once cleared by medical staff, he will be booked into the county jail.
A female victim reported that while aboard a Dublin-bound train 40 minutes earlier, a black male teen snatched her iPhone 6 from her grasp and fled from the train at the station. The victim, who was not injured, reported the theft to an officer at the Dublin/Pleasanton station. The officer was unable to track the phone.
A patron on board the Pittsburg bound train reported that she saw a male suspect, with what she believed to be the magazine of a handgun protruding from his shirt. The suspect, who boarded the train at Powell Street Station, was described as a black male in his 20's, 6 fee tall, with a dark complexion, wearing a light blue denim jacket, white shirt, and light colored jeans. The suspect was last seen walking toward the front of the train. Officers responded to West Oakland Station and searched the train. A male matching the suspect description was located on the third car from the lead and was detained without incident. The reporting party identified the man as the one she had seen at Powell Street. The man was searched, but no weapon or contraband was located. The train was released after about a 12 minute delay.
A train operator witnessed a male suspect masturbating while aboard a Millbrae bound train’s lead car. An officer detained the suspect when the train arrived at the station, and subsequently placed him under arrest for performing a lewd act in public per the train operator’s citizen’s arrest. A BART employee alerted officers to a fight inside a car in the lot between a male and female. Officers saw the male suspect punch the female and they arrested him for battery. Officers determined the couple was in a dating relationship. The female was uncooperative and declined domestic violence resources and a protective order. The male was booked at Glenn Dyer Jail for domestic violence.
A patron reported to the station agent that a suspect appeared to be trying to cut locks on bikes at the bike racks. The suspect was described as a black male with a mustache, wearing a black jacket with a hood and a black beanie, in possession of bolt cutters. A male matching this description was located on CCTV tampering with a bike lock. Responding officers found the suspect, who fled on foot. Officers were able to detain the suspect a short distance away. A search of the man's person yielded narcotics paraphernalia. Records checks showed that the man was on probation for theft, possession of stolen property and narcotics violations. The man was arrested and booked at Glenn Dyer Jail for petty theft, possession of burglary tools, possession of narcotics paraphernalia and probation violation.
An officer working a fixed post detail heard a car alarm sounding in the parking lot. He saw a male walking away from the vehicle. The officer checked the vehicle and found that it had a broken window. The male suspect entered the station, so trains were held until the officer could contact him on a holding train. The suspect was found to be in possession of a jacket and currency that the vehicle owner later identified as being stolen from the victim vehicle. The suspect was interviewed by a detective before being booked into the Glenn Dyer Jail for burglary and possession of stolen property.
A BART sub-contractor reported that their personal vehicle (2005 Toyota Scion) was burglarized while parked on 7th Street, Oakland, between 1945 and 2015 hours. The vehicle’s left rear window was smashed to gain entry and a BART portable radio, among other miscellaneous items, was taken. An officer responded and took the report. TSOC notified.
A victim reported that their gray 2016 VW Jetta was burglarized, via right passenger door window smash, while parked in stall 532 between 1230 and 2330 hours; no items were taken during the burglary. An officer responded, processed the vehicle for fingerprints and completed a report.
