Officers contacted a subject for fare evasion. The subject provided the officers with false identity to the officers. The subject was later identified as (Stewart, Juan, 30 years old, out of Oakland) and booked into the North County Jail for providing false identity to a peace officer.
A patron reported that his MacBook laptop was snatched from his hand by two suspects, one of whom was in possession of a stun gun. The suspects were described as black males, 15-17 years old. The suspects fled toward 7th and Chester Streets and were not located by responding officers.
Patrons reported a male (Joseph Jones, 36, San Francisco) was creating a disturbance on a Dublin bound train and Jones off-boarded at the West Dublin Station. An officer attempted to stop Jones but he fled and force was used to stop him. Jones was determined to be too intoxicated to care for himself and was in possession of narcotics paraphernalia. Jones was booked into the Glenn Dyer Jail.
The victim was seated on a Daly City bound train when the suspect, described only as a Black male, 18-19 yrs, wearing dark clothing, boarded the train at either Coliseum or the Fruitvale Station, and sat next to her. When the train stopped at the West Oakland Station, the suspect snatched the victim’s iPhone and ran from the train. The victim gave chase and confronted the suspect. When the victim attempted to retrieve her phone, a struggle ensued and the suspect pushed the victim to the ground before fleeing on foot from the station. The victim was not injured. An area check for the suspect was negative.
A witness reported observing two suspects burglarizing a '04 BMW 320 which was parked in the parking lot near space #298. Entry was made by smashing the rear passenger-side window and the loss was an automotive emergency kit which was left on a seat in plain view. The suspects were described at 2 black males, 16-17 years old carrying a backpack. The suspects were not located. Officers were contacted by a second victim who had parked a '15 Honda CR-V in space #298 between 13:15 and 17:00. While the car was parked at the station, an unknown suspect smashed the rear driver-side window and removed a black backpack containing clothing. 1707-1575 /
Officers responded to the West Oakland BART station on the report of a male subject who was in possession of two sharp objects aboard a train. Officers contacted a male subject who was found to be in possession of a concealed knife. A records check revealed an outstanding misdemeanor arrest warrant. The subject was taken into custody and booked into Glenn Dyer jail.
Officers intercepted a Dublin/Pleasanton bound train at the West Oakland station after someone reported a Hispanic male creating a disturbance on the train. When the train arrived, passengers flagged down the officer and directed him to the male. The officer determined the male subject was intoxicated and unable to care for himself. The male subject was taken into custody and placed into the back seat of a patrol vehicle. While seated in the back seat, the male subject was able to maneuver the handcuffs to the front of his body. When officers attempted to remove him from the vehicle to handcuff him behind his back, the subject began to fight with the officers. An officer was punched in the face by the subject and several other officers who were on scene assisted in controlling the male subject. The officers and the sergeant who were on scene eventually placed the male subject onto the ground and used force to secure him in the WRAP device. The subject was transported and booked into Santa Rita jail.
A BART employee’s identification was taken during an auto burglary near the employee’s residence, which occurred between 1730 hours on 5/30/17 and 0430 hours on 5/31/17. An officer took the report and provided the stolen identification information to TSOC.
Officers saw, and attempted to detain, an adult female who battered her boyfriend while on a city street near the 12th Street station. The suspect, however, resisted the officers who then used physical force to place her in handcuffs. The female was subsequently booked into the county jail for domestic battery/violence and resisting arrest.
A victim reported being kicked by a male suspect while aboard the train approaching West Oakland Station. Officers located the suspect after he left the train and the station and detained him. The victim responded and identified him as the person who kicked him before placing him under citizen’s arrest. The victim suffered soreness to his lower leg, but declined medical attention. The suspect was issued a prohibition order before being booked into the Santa Rita Jail for battery on a transit passenger.
A patron reported that their unknown make/model white folding bike was stolen from inside a bike locker, between 5/25/17 at 0900 hours, to today at 1030 hours. An unknown male cut the roof of the locker and removed the bike.
Officers detained two subjects for blocking the aisles on a Pittsburg bound train. Subject #1 was identified and released. Subject #2 was arrested for a warrant and taken to jail. An officer took the report.
Patrons on board the Pittsburg train reported that a black male was cutting his legs with a box cutter. Officers responded and located the man, who was in possession of two knives. The man was detained for psychiatric evaluation after a brief struggle. The man was transported by ambulance to John George Pavilion for evaluation and treatment.
Patrons reported a couple were involved in a heated argument at the West Oakland Station. Officers arrived, detained the couple and a records check showed the male had an warrant for his arrest and had violated a court order. The male was booked into the local jail.
A victim reported the theft of their vehicle while it was parked at the station. The victim parked their vehicle at 2115 hours on 5/13/2017 and returned at 1500 hours on 5/14/2017 to find the vehicle missing.
Officers detained a male suspect for creating a disturbance on a train. Record checks showed that the man had an outstanding $10,000 arrest warrant for narcotics violations. The man resisted being arrested, but was taken into custody after a short struggle. He was ultimately booked at Santa Rita Jail after being medically cleared.
Officers detained a male suspect for reportedly acting violent aboard a train. The officers determined the suspect was intoxicated, and learned of an outstanding $10K drug warrant for his arrest. The suspect was then placed under arrest for public intoxication and the warrant, but then physically resisted the officers who used force and the WRAP restraint to eventually control him. While preparing to book the suspect into the county jail, jail staff required the suspect’s medical clearance for a pre-existing medical condition. Once medically cleared, the suspect’s booking will be completed. A sergeant responded to perform the use of force investigation.
