Two female victims reported that a male suspect seated in the bus zone followed them toward the station and attempted to speak with them while masturbating. The victims contacted an officer who was on patrol in the station and pointed out the suspect. The victims made a citizen's arrest and the man was taken into custody. Incident to arrest, a quantity of prescription narcotics was found on the man's person. The suspect was issued a prohibition order and was booked at the Martinez Detention Facility for indecent exposure and possession of narcotics.
Patrons on board the Pittsburg train reported that a male suspect was threatening them. An officer intercepted the train at Walnut Creek Station and located the suspect. Two victims made citizen's arrest of the man for disturbing the peace. The suspect resisted being taken into custody and attempted to walk away. The suspect was arrested after a brief struggle. He was ultimately booked at the Martinez Detention Facility for disturbing the peace and resisting arrest. He was also cited for fare evasion.
A victim reported that they left their bicycle (a black Gazelle women’s 7 speed bicycle) in the bike rack area on 7/29/14, at 2100 hours. The bicycle was secured with fixed lock that attaches the frame to the bicycle wheel. The bicycle was never locked to the bicycle racks. The victim returned today at 0100 hours to find their bicycle gone. The estimated value of the bike is $800. The reporting officer learned that the Walnut Creek Police Department recovered a bicycle matching the victim’s bicycle description earlier that day (no one in custody). The officer referred the victim to contact the Walnut Creek Police Department.
A victim reported the theft of their blue Gant brand men’s 24-speed bicycle while it was cable locked at the station, between 1200-1450 hours. The victim valued the bicycle at $800. An officer completed a report.
A victim reported his 1991 white Acura Integra 2 door was burglarized while it was parked and locked in stall #1562 between 0735-1735 hours. The driver side window was forced down and the ignition was damaged. Prints were taken from the vehicle.
A victim reported the theft of his red/black GMC men’s 21 speed bike, between 0700-1430 hours, while cable locked at the station. The victim estimated the value of the bicycle at $240. A community service officer completed a theft report.
A victim reported his 2011 gray Honda Civic 2 door was burglarized while it was parked and locked in stall #988 between 1200-2020 hours. The driver front door was compromised and a $50.00 iPod was taken from the inside of the vehicle. The victim refused to have the officer process the vehicle for prints.
A safety monitor observed a male suspect trying to cut a lock off a bike at the racks using a hacksaw. The man left the area on foot, but was detained by Walnut Creek PD a short distance away. The safety monitor positively identified the man as the person he saw trying to cut the lock. The man had a hacksaw in his backpack. The man admitted trying to steal the bike, but denied knowing anything about other bike thefts. The man was ultimately booked at the Martinez Detention Facility for misdemeanor attempted theft and possession of burglary tools.
A victim reported that they locked their bicycle (a light blue/silver Trek bicycle) to the free area bike racks on 5/30/14, at 0600 hours. The bicycle was secured with thin cable lock. The victim returned today at 0900 hours to find their bicycle gone. The estimated value of the bike is $400.
A victim reported that they locked their bicycle (a black mountain bike, unknown brand and unknown serial number) to the bus zone bike racks on today at 1400 hours. The bicycle was secured with cable lock. The victim returned at 1700 hours to find their bicycle gone. The estimated value of the bike is $500.
A BART CSO on-viewed a male suspect attempting to cut a cable lock and take a bike from the Walnut Creek Station. A station agent confronted the male and he ran from the station. The CSO followed the suspect (from a safe distance) and provided updates on his location until he disappeared into the bushed at Riviera Dr. and Pringle Ave. BART and Walnut Creek Officers arrived on scene and set up a perimeter to contain the suspect. A K-9 officer spotted a male that emerged from the bushes and he was detained. The CSO and the station agent responded to the officer's location. The station agent positively identified the male as the person that attempted to cut a cable lock off a bike. A K-9 officer conducted a search of the area where the male was last seen and discovered bags that contained merchandise from the two stores in Walnut Creek. From the suspect's description, Walnut Creek advised the male possibly just committed two commercial burglaries in their jurisdiction. Employees from both stores responded to the scene and identified the male as the person that took merchandise from their store and the identified merchandise that was found by the K-9 officer. The male was placed under arrest by Walnut Creek PD for commercial burglary and possession of stolen property. BART PD Detectives responded to question the male regarding the crimes committed on BART. The males' identity will be confirmed at the jail. BART PD will seek a warrant for pending charges of attempted theft and possession of burglary tools. Detectives will follow-up with this case.
Officers detained a male suspect for fare evasion. Record checks revealed that the man had an outstanding $75,000 arrest warrant for vandalism, held by SFPD. THe man was cited for fare evasion and arrested on his warrant and booked at the Martinez Detention Centery.
A victim reported his 2007 tan GMC Sierra was burglarized while it was parked and locked on the 3rd level of the parking structure between 0500 hours on 5/2/14 to 0100 hours on 5/3/14. The driver side door was punched and the interior of the vehicle was ransacked. The vehicle was processed for prints but none were attainable.
A records check on a person detained for fare evasion revealed an outstanding no-bail felony arrest warrant out of California Department of Corrections. The suspect was cited for fare evasion and placed under arrest for the warrant. A sergeant arrived at the scene to approve the arrest.
Officers responded to a report of a male urinating/defecating on a Pittsburg bound train. Officers contacted a male and off-boarded him from the train. A records/warrant check revealed the man had a $1,000.00 driving while intoxicated warrant issued by San Mateo County. The male was cited for urinating/defecating and was booked on the warrant at the Martinez Detention Center. A sergeant approved the arrest.
A warrant check on a person detained for fare evasion revealed an outstanding no-bail arrest warrant out of Walnut Creek for theft. The suspect was cited for fare evasion and placed under arrest for the warrant.
A male threatened to physically harm a female aboard a Pittsburg bound train. Officers intercepted the train at the Walnut Creek Station and removed the male from the train. Trains were delayed for 5 minutes. The male was not in possession of a BART Ticket and was cited for fare evasion. The female placed the male under citizen's arrest for criminal threats. A records/warrant check showed the male had a BART Prohibition Order in effect and was in violation of that order. The male was booked at the Martinez Detention Facility. The male was given a second prohibition order. A Sgt. approved the arrest.
