A victim reported their white 1999 Acura Integra was burglarized while it was parked and locked in the lot, between 0856-1800 hours. The vehicle’s rear passenger window was shattered to gain entry, and its $300.00 Sony stereo was taken. A community service officer processed the vehicle for latent prints and completed a report.
A victim reported their white 2007 Toyota Land Cruiser was burglarized while it was parked and locked in the lot, between 0545-1700 hours. The vehicle’s rear passenger window was shattered to gain entry and its dash board was damaged, but no items were taken. An officer was on routine patrol when he noticed a subject possibly tampering with a bicycle at the bike racks. After further investigation the officer was unable to determine any loss or damage to any of the bicycles in the area. A records check on the subject revealed that he had multiple active probations, one of which included a full search clause. A search of his person revealed some suspected Methamphetamine along with a pipe commonly used to smoke Methamphetamine. The suspect was placed under arrest and subsequently booked for possession of narcotics and possession of drug paraphernalia. The sergeant arrived at the scene to approve the arrest.
A patron on board the Richmond bound train reported that a male suspect was acting erratically. Officers responded and contacted the man. Record checks showed that the man had an outstanding no-bail arrest warrant for probation violation, held by the Contra Costa County Sheriff's Office. The man was arrested on his warrant and booked at Santa Rita Jail.
An officer located a burglarized vehicle at the Union City BART Station at 1020 hours. A red 2009 Honda Fit (6JZW835) was parked in stall #852 and its rear driver's side window was smashed. Loss is unknown at this time. The officer contacted the victim who reported he parked his vehicle at 0630 hours. The officer dusted the vehicle for prints and located several fingerprints. The victim will report his loss when he returns to his vehicle.
A witness reported an auto burglary of a 2009 Red Honda Fit Sport that was parked in stall #852 of the lot. They described a possible suspect that was leaving the area as an Hispanic male, 20's, 5'7, 300 lbs, facial hair, and wearing a horizontal striped hoodie. The vehicle had a broken window, the loss is pending the return of the owner. The area search yielded negative results.
The following vehicles were burglarized while parked and locked in or near stall #614 in lot B: • 2002 orange Saturn VUE 4 door; between 0800-1915 hours; rear passenger window was smashed and LCD Navigation stereo system was taken. A victim reported his was burglarized while it was parked and locked in stall #230 in lot A between 0450-1455 hours. The method of entry was unknown, and a Pioneer CD DVD navigation system, iPad, and four wireless headphones were taken from inside the vehicle. The vehicle was processed for prints with negative results.
A victim reported his 2007 black Honda CRV was burglarized while it was parked and locked in stall #304 lot A between 0640-1230 hours. The right front passenger window was smashed and a Pioneer CD DVD navigation system was taken from inside the vehicle. The vehicle was processed for prints with negative results.
A victim reported his 1995 black Honda Accord was burglarized while it was parked and locked in lot B, stall #696 between 0810-1815 hours. The driver door was compromised, and an iPad 2 and two watches were taken from inside the vehicle. The vehicle was processed for prints with negative results.
An officer was dispatched to the station for a report of an alarm sounding from a car with a broken window that was parked in stall #420. The officer was unable to determine if there was any loss. No reporting party, witnesses or suspects were in the area. The vehicle was processed for evidence and a note left for the owner to contact us upon their return.
A patron reported that their black 2003 Chevy Tahoe was burglarized while parked in stall #130, in lot A, between 1100-2300 hours. An unknown suspect punched the passenger door lock to gain entry and stole the stereo, amplifier and speakers.
Officers responded to a reported of a male juvenile in possession of gun in front of the station. The juvenile did not appear to be nervous and was not threatening anyone with the weapon. Union City Police arrived at the scene, recovered a gun from the juvenile without incident, and then turned the case over to BART Police. The juvenile, who had no prior history of violence, was placed under arrest for possession of a firearm. A sergeant arrived at the scene to approve the arrest and interview the juvenile. TSOC notified.
While on patrol, an officer observed and detained a subject for fare evasion. During the detention, the officer determined that the suspect gave him several false names. At one point the officer had to use physical force (take down to the ground) when the suspect resisted the detention. The officer ultimately placed the subject in handcuffs and under arrest. The officer contacted the California Department of Corrections who then placed a parole hold the subject. A search of the suspect yielded the discovery of narcotics paraphernalia. The subject was arrested and booked into the Santa Rita Jail for his violating his parole, giving a false name to a peace officer, resisting arrest, and possession of narcotics paraphernalia. A sergeant approved the arrest and conducted a use of force investigation.
A construction site supervisor reported the theft of a Honda generator from the Union City BART Station. The reported loss is a large Honda "wheel barrel" generator with a value of $4,500. The generator was chained to a large Conex Box. The theft occurred between 1530 hours on 4/25/14, and 0700 hours on 4/28/14. An unknown suspect cut a security fence separating BART from Amtrak and entered the construction site. The chain securing the generator to the Conex Box was cut and the generator removed. An officer responded to take the grand theft report. The officer check for fingerprints but no evidence was located on scene. The officer contacted Union City PD to determine if they have video cameras in the area.
Officers responded to the station regarding a female subject reportedly urinating while aboard a train. The subject, who was in the company of second (male) subject, was detained shortly after the train’s arrival. During this time, the male subject voluntarily provided his name to the officers and a subsequent warrants check revealed he was wanted on two outstanding misdemeanor BART Police warrants: one warrant charging a violation of a court order – with a bail amount of $5K - and the second charging a single count of disturbing the peace – with a bail amount of $2500.00. The male subject was placed under arrest for the warrants, and a search incident to arrest revealed he was also in possession of narcotics paraphernalia. A sergeant responded to approve the arrest and debrief the subject. Subsequently, the subject was booked into the county jail for the outstanding warrants and for possessing narcotics paraphernalia. NOTE: The female subject was released as no complainant came forward.
A victim reported his green 1994 Chevrolet truck was burglarized while it was parked and locked in stall #466, between 0700-1520 hours. Officers determined entry was made into the vehicle by defeating the locking mechanism of the truck-bed’s shell. Several items were taken from the truck bed, including a mountain bike and sunglasses. An officer investigated the case and completed a report.
A subject detained by an officer for fare evasion was found to have an outstanding $50K misdemeanor petty theft warrant, issued by the San Francisco Police Department. The subject was placed under arrest for the warrant and issued a citation for fare evasion. A sergeant responded to approve the arrest and debrief the subject. Subsequently, the subject was booked into the county jail for the warrant.
A victim reported that they parked and locked their vehicle (a blue 1999 Toyota Camry) in parking stall 481 on 4/6/14, at 2300 hours. The victim then returned today at 0830 hours to find their vehicle had been burglarized by unknown means, and $700 worth of personal property (i.e., gym equipment, Bose headphones, and books) had been stolen. The officer did not process the vehicle for fingerprints.
