A male juvenile had his cellphone snatched from his possession by three other male juveniles. The suspects fled towards the parking lot and responding officers were unable to locate them. The primary suspect was a juvenile male, 16 yrs. wearing a black hoodie and baggie blue jeans.
An adult male was beaten then robbed of his backpack by a group of 5 to 6 male teenagers, all wearing black hoodies. Contents in the backpack included a laptop computer, cash, wallet and credit cards. The offense occurred in the parking lot. Several suspects were stopped but the victim was unable to make an identification.
In a late reported case that occurred earlier this date at 0615 hrs., a female patron reported that she'd been pick-pocketed while entering the fare gates at UCS. Loss was a wallet including personal checks, I.D., and credit cards. No suspect information.
An unidentified man in his late 40's to mid-50's was struck and killed by a Richmond-bound train. The train operator and a patron reported that the man jumped in front of the train as it entered the station.
A group of male juveniles robbed a taxi cab driver of a few dollars. The cab driver followed the group to the platform and confronted them. The suspects began beating the victim and the victim ran onto the trackway to get away from the suspects. When an officer arrived, the suspects dispersed, but the officer managed to capture the primary suspect. The suspect was arrested and booked.
Officers responded to a report of an attempted robbery that just occurred in front of the station. The victim reported that a subject struck him in the face and attempted to take his wallet. The suspect was in the company of 4 to 5 others. All fled on foot.
A male patron was struck by a northbound train as it entered the station. The victim was seen crouching at the edge of the platform prior to the train's arrival. The victim was mobile and coherent, and sustained abrasions to his arms and legs and injury to his head. He was transported to the hospital for treatment. Officers responded to a report of a male hitting a female on the Decoto St. side of the station. Subsequent reports advised of a second party having kicked the victim. One of the suspects was described as a juvenile male wearing a puffy jacket. All parties left the station before officers arrived.
When an officer initiated a traffic stop, the motorist failed to yield. The suspect continued driving until he reached his Union City residence, then quickly walked into his home. The suspect was cited and released.
