A male patron reported by phone that while he was on a Fremont bound train approaching South Hayward, a female suspect punched him in the face and chest and stole his cell phone and wallet. The suspect fled on foot in an unknown direction. The victim, who was not injured, left the station and reported the theft via Hayward PD a short time later. The suspect was described as a Hispanic female in her 50's or 60s, wearing a red shirt and black pants.
A patron reported that their maroon 1992 Honda Accord was stolen from stall #832, between 1325-2125 hours.
A victim reported their Specialized mountain bike was stolen from inside a bike locker at the South Hayward Station, between September 6th and September 13th.
A patron reported that their black 1997 Honda Civic was stolen from the lot near Tennyson Road.
A patron reported that their green 1996 Honda Accord was stolen from the lot near Tennyson Road, between 1530-1930 hours.
A BART contractor reported that three separate equipment storage containers at the Whipple Yard had been burglarized sometime between the hours of 1700 on 8/13 and 0700, today's date. An unknown suspect(s) cut the lock off of the main gate to access the yard and then proceeded to cut the locks to the three containers. A Ford F-650 flatbed truck with a small Bob Cat on the bed was taken. The investigating officer took photos and collected the locks as evidence. The containers were unable to be processed because contractors had already contaminated the scene. At the time of this entry, it appears that there is a few thousand dollars in property loss. The truck and Bob Cat were later located and a stolen/recovery report was taken.
A victim reported that their 1997 Honda Accord was stolen while parked at the station between 1100-1540 hours.
An employee reported that two people were walking around the Hayward Yard. Officers responded and detained both suspects after they were taken to the South Hayward Station by a train that had stopped to pick them up. A record check showed that one of the subjects had a $20K arrest warrant for possession of a controlled substance and was subsequently placed under arrest and booked. The second subject was identified and released.
Sometime between 08:00 and 17:00, an unknown suspect entered a 2016 Lexus NX200T that was parked at the station and ransacked the interior removing sunglasses, a phone charger and first aid supplies. The entry point was unknown. The vehicle was parked in space #195.
Sometime between 13:45 and 17:00, an unknown suspect entered a 2012 Dodge Ram which was parked in the North parking lot and conducted a messy search. The suspect removed a set of keys and fled with the loss. Method of entry is unknown.
A male subject entered the station and told the agent that he wanted to die, before walking to the platform. Trains were held out, but the man left the station shortly thereafter. At about 1948 hours, the man returned and went to the platform again. Trains were held out, and when the man jumped onto the tracks, power was dropped. The man walked southbound on the tracks and officers responded to try and intercept him. The man turned around and walked back toward the station, balancing on the third rail cover boards. The man returned to the platform and then jumped over the wall and fled through the parking lot toward Dixon Street, where officers detained him. The man was found to be in need of emergency psychiatric care and he was transported to John George Hospital for evaluation/treatment. Trains were delayed about 16 minutes as a result of this incident.
The victim reported that she was unable to start her 95' Honda Accord due to the fact that the ignition had been tampered with in an apparent attempt to steal her vehicle. The vehicle was parked in stall #229 between the hours of 0700-1705. The victim declined to have her vehicle processed for evidence.
The victim reported that his 94' Honda Accord had been entered sometime between the hours of 0705-1715 and attempted to steal her car. The vehicle's ignition appeared to have been tampered with as the victim was unable to start his car. The victim declined to have the vehicle processed for evidence.
A victim reported their silver Honda Prelude stolen from the station on 6/22. The vehicle had already been recovered by the Oakland Police Department.
A victim reported the theft of their 1998 Honda Civic. The vehicle was taken between 0545-1040 hours.
A train operator reported striking a person with the train between Hayward and South Hayward Station. Officers and medical aid responded and located a female under the train. The female was conscious and breathing, but not responsive. She was transported for treatment and was in surgery at the time of this entry. She is in critical condition (possibly life threatening injuries). ID technicians responded to process the scene. The trauma response team was notified.
5/17/16. 1644 hours A victim reported their 1998 Honda Civic was stolen while parked at the South Hayward Station, between 0755-1640 hours.
A victim reported their 2000 Honda Civic was stolen from the South Hayward Station, between 0653-1745 hours.
A victim was aboard a Fremont bound train and had his Apple MacBook sitting on his lap. When the doors opened at the South Hayward Station, a suspect grabbed the victim's laptop and fled off the train. The victim pursued but the suspect was able to escape from the station.
A victim reported that a suspect (BM, teens, grey hoodie) grabbed her purse from her possession and fled out of a Fremont bound train at the station. The victim stayed on the train and the suspect fled over the platform wall and ran from the station. Officers did not locate the suspect, but were able to track her phone and recovered it in her purse nearby. Her wallet was missing from the purse. The victim was not injured during the incident. Train/station video will be requested.

A BART Contractor reported the theft of a Hertz rental "dump truck", a white 2015 F-650, which was parked in the lost adjacent to the South Hayward Yard between the hours of 1300 on 5/6/16, and 0630 on 5/9/16.

Officers responded to a report of a male Hispanic asleep on the platform. The man was located and record checks showed that he had an outstanding $20,000 arrest warrant for DUI, held by Fremont PD. The man was arrested on his warrant and was booked at the Hayward Jail.
