An officer detained a subject (Wilson, Jayson, 44, Hayward) for fare evasion at the station. A records check revealed a sex registration violation. The subject was arrested for the sex registration violation. During a search incident to arrest, suspected Methamphetamine, narcotics paraphernalia and a dirk/dagger were recovered. The subject was additionally arrested for the weapon, narcotics and probation violation. The subject was booked at the Santa Rita Jail.
A catalytic converter was taken from a 2002 Honda Accord while it was parked at the station between 0640-1700 hours.

A male suspect detained for fare evasion by an officer was placed under arrest for violating the terms of a court (stay away) order; and then booked into the county jail.
Officers contacted a suspect for fare evasion and conducted a records check. The check revealed a no bail felony warrant charging burglary. The suspect was placed under arrest. During a search incident to arrest, officers located narcotics and narcotics paraphernalia in the suspect’s possession. The suspect was booked into the Santa Rita Jail on the warrant and the additional listed charges. The suspect was also cited for fare evasion.

A victim reported their 1996 Isuzu Rodeo was burglarized while parked at the South Hayward Station, 1040-2000 hours.
A victim reported the theft of their 2009 Specialized "Hardrock" bike from the South Hayward Station, between 1200-1325 hours. The bike was secured with a chain lock to the bike racks.
A female victim reported that a male suspect grabbed her iMac Pro laptop and ran out of the train and out of the station. Three other males ran with the suspect (all described as BMJs, one with a dark blue hoodie). An officer in the area located four males walking nearby and tried to detain them. One of the males fled into the neighborhood, but three were detained. The fourth male later returned to the station and was located on the platform. He was in possession of a laptop computer that was later identified as being the victim's. The victim was unable to identify any of the males as being responsible for committing the theft. All of the males were identified and released to their parents. The one who fled was interviewed before being issued a citation for resisting/delaying an officer and possession of stolen property. He will also be released to a parent. Detectives were notified of the case.
An adult female was walking through the North parking lot when she was approached from behind by three Black males, 19-20 years of age, all wearing black hoodies and blue jeans. The victim was pushed to the ground before being punched her in the mouth. The suspects took the victim’s pink iPhone 6s. All three males fled the area on foot. Medical was called and the victim was treated at the scene for a minor injury to her mouth. The victim was unable to provide the information needed to track her phone. Video is being requested by the investigating officer.
Victim reported the theft of his vehicle, between 0700-1830 hours. Officer completed an auto theft report.
A male victim reported that he was sitting in front of the station waiting for a ride when he decided to count his money. A female suspect (WF, 20s, blonde, thin) walked by and grabbed his $170 in cash from his hand. The female then entered an awaiting vehicle and the vehicle drove out of the area. The male was not injured. Station video will be requested.
A passenger reported that a male suspect (BM, 20s, black jacket, red pants) grabbed their iPhone from their hand and fled out of the station. The victim was not injured and did not have tracking on the phone. The suspect was not located. Video will be requested.
A victim reported their 2016 Acura RDX was burglarized while parked at the South Hayward Station, between 0730-1445 hours.
Officers detained the male suspect while investigating a disturbance. The officers soon learned that the suspect was in violation of his probation, which restricts his contact with another involved party who was present at the station. The suspect was subsequently arrested and booked into the county jail for violating his probation.
A patron reported that their 1999 Nissan Altima was burglarized while it was parked in stall #30, between 0840-1930 hours. An unknown suspect smashed the right rear window to gain entry. The interior was ransacked, but the owner could not identify any loss.
