A female victim reported that a male suspect grabbed her iMac Pro laptop and ran out of the train and out of the station. Three other males ran with the suspect (all described as BMJs, one with a dark blue hoodie). An officer in the area located four males walking nearby and tried to detain them. One of the males fled into the neighborhood, but three were detained. The fourth male later returned to the station and was located on the platform. He was in possession of a laptop computer that was later identified as being the victim's. The victim was unable to identify any of the males as being responsible for committing the theft. All of the males were identified and released to their parents. The one who fled was interviewed before being issued a citation for resisting/delaying an officer and possession of stolen property. He will also be released to a parent. Detectives were notified of the case.
An adult female was walking through the North parking lot when she was approached from behind by three Black males, 19-20 years of age, all wearing black hoodies and blue jeans. The victim was pushed to the ground before being punched her in the mouth. The suspects took the victim’s pink iPhone 6s. All three males fled the area on foot. Medical was called and the victim was treated at the scene for a minor injury to her mouth. The victim was unable to provide the information needed to track her phone. Video is being requested by the investigating officer.
A male victim reported that he was sitting in front of the station waiting for a ride when he decided to count his money. A female suspect (WF, 20s, blonde, thin) walked by and grabbed his $170 in cash from his hand. The female then entered an awaiting vehicle and the vehicle drove out of the area. The male was not injured. Station video will be requested.
A passenger reported that a male suspect (BM, 20s, black jacket, red pants) grabbed their iPhone from their hand and fled out of the station. The victim was not injured and did not have tracking on the phone. The suspect was not located. Video will be requested.
Officers detained the male suspect while investigating a disturbance. The officers soon learned that the suspect was in violation of his probation, which restricts his contact with another involved party who was present at the station. The suspect was subsequently arrested and booked into the county jail for violating his probation.
A patron reported that their 1999 Nissan Altima was burglarized while it was parked in stall #30, between 0840-1930 hours. An unknown suspect smashed the right rear window to gain entry. The interior was ransacked, but the owner could not identify any loss.
A male suspect detained by officers for fare evasion was found to have an outstanding $50K probation violation warrant for his arrest. The suspect was placed under arrest without incident, and then booked into the county jail for the warrant.
An officer was flagged down for a male creating a disturbance in the station. A record check revealed that he had a $5,000 warrant for petty theft. No one wished to make a complaint about the original disturbance, so the male was booked into the Santa Rita Jail for the warrant.
A female suspect detained for fare evasion by officers was found to have an outstanding $44K misdemeanor contempt of court warrant, held by the Santa Clara County Sheriff’s Office, for her arrest. The officers placed the suspect under arrest, and she was then booked into the county jail.
A patron reported a male breaking into cars. BART Officers responded and arrested the suspect for burglary. The victim vehicle was a 2004 Honda Pilot silver in color parked in stall 965. The suspect was transported to Santa Rita Jail.
