In a late reported case, an adult male reported that he boarded a Fremont bound train at Coliseum station and was confronted by a male passenger who brandished what the victim believed to be a handgun and demanded money. The victim, who apparently had no cash in his possession, was forced off of the train at South Hayward station where the suspect made him walk to an ATM at Tennyson and Mission. There the victim withdrew $80 cash. Both parties walked back to South Hayward Station where the suspect apparently boarded an unknown train and fled the scene.
A 43-year-old woman, who had reportedly been drinking and urinating in public earlier at Fremont station, was detained. She was determined to be in need of psychiatric help and was transported to the John George Psychiatric Pavilion.
An officer on routine patrol on-viewed and interrupted an armed robbery in progress in the parking lot. The primary suspect, who was armed with a sawed-off rifle, fled on foot towards Tennyson St. as the officer approached. A second suspect, who is believed to have been a look-out, was apprehended. BART PD and Hayward PD units were unable to locate the primary suspect after an extensive search.
An officer noticed a vehicle parked facing the wrong direction in the station bus zone. The vehicle had collision damage and was occupied by two subjects who were passed out. The collision damage was linked to damage on an unoccupied vehicle parked at the station. The driver was booked at Hayward P.D. for D.U.I. The hit and run is under investigation.
The station agent observed and reported a possible drug transaction between two males. One suspect quickly left the station prior to the arrival of an officer. The officer located and detained the second suspect, who was intoxicated, had fare evaded, and was in possession of cocaine. The suspect was arrested and booked.
A man reported being hit on the head and robbed of his camera while on the stairs leading from the parking lot to the street. The suspects were in a group of 6 or 7 male juveniles who escaped into the neighborhood.
A male juvenile victim was aboard a Fremont bound train at South Hayward Station. While the train doors were open, a male juvenile/young adult suspect took the victim's ipod and told the victim not to say anything or he would be shot. The suspect was last seen walking toward the north end of the station platform, and was GOA/UTL.
An adult female spotted walking on the right-of-way and talking on a cell phone. The subject's bizzare behavior continued as she was spotted lying on the running rails and yelling for people to leave her alone. Power was cut off to the third rail until officers arrived and took her into custody without further incident. The subject was transported to a local hospital and held for psyhiatric evaluation.
An officer observed an adult male suspect fare evade at South Hayward station. The suspect was detained and the officer determined the suspect had a felony warrant for his arrest. The suspect was arrested and booked at Santa Rita Jail. 0609-0549 L21.
A female patron was walking through the north parking lot when she was confronted by a male suspect. The suspect forcefully took the victim's purse and ran into the station. The suspect appeared to run to platform #1, then scaled the platform wall to the adjacent residential neighborhood. There were no injuries, and the suspect was GOA/UTL.
A male victim was dropping off his children to his ex-wife at the South Hayward station, when the ex-wife's boyfriend brandished a handgun at the victim. The suspect left the scene. As officers were taking the report, the suspect returned and was arrested and booked at the Hayward City Jail. 0606-2374 L21.
05-25-06 1548 hrs. A 29-year-old man, who had reportedly been casing in the station parking lot, was found to be in possession of burglary tools and stolen property. Subsequent investigation linked him to an auto burglary in the lot. The suspect was booked at Santa Rita Jail for auto burglary, possession of burglary tools and possession of stolen property.
A juvenile female was walking through the parking lot at South Hayward station when she was grabbed on her private area by an unknown male adult, approximately 30 years old. The suspect fled toward Tennyson Ave. The victim made the report at her school office. An area search proved negative.
With the assistance of Hayward PD, two suspects were detained at South Hayward station for a man with a gun. A gun was found in a carry-on bag belonging to one of the suspects. The reporting party positively ID'd one of the suspects as having the gun. Hayward PD took the case as they had to physically fight one of the suspects. One suspect also had a no-bail warrant.
