An officer was flagged down by the victim of a strongarm robbery that occurred just outside of the Bayfair station. The victim was followed on foot by four male suspects from the area of the 24-hour fitness center on Hesperian and was robbed of his cell phone. Case turned over to San Leandro P.D. 0608-0796. L18.
In the station bus zone, three male juveniles confronted a male victim, shoved a gun in the victim's chest and robbed him of his property. The victim last saw the suspects running through the parking lots. A K-9 officer stopped four possible suspects in a station parking lot, one of whom was in possession of a replica handgun. The detained individuals were determined not to be the suspects in this case. The actual suspects were GOA/UTL.
At San Leandro station, an officer chased two adult male suspects who had just committed an auto burglary. Suspects were located driving away in a van. Officers stopped the van and arrested the suspects for auto burglary and outstanding warrants. 0606-2596 L21.
An officer responding to a fare evasion report located the suspect about a block away from the station. When he was contacted, the suspect shoved the officer in the chest and tried to escape. The officer attempted to apprehend him, wrestling the violently resisting suspect to the ground several times in the street, but was unable to secure him. Citizens finally assisted the officer and the suspect was taken into custody. He was booked on the battery as well as drug possession.
A citizen was robbed of cash by two males, one of whom simulated a weapon. The suspects were able to flee the area prior to the arrival of responding officers.
An off-duty BART police officer observed a subject acting erratically by swinging his bicycle around aimlessly and then slamming into a train. Repeated warnings by the officer failed to deter the subject's behavior and he had to be physically subdued. The subject was transported to a local hospital for observation.
Patrons observed a subject masturbating in the bus zone. The repeat offender was taken into custody by responding officers and booked fon the above charge and violation of a stay-away order.
An officer contacted an adult male sleeping outside a maintenance room on the East side of the station. A routine warrant check revealed the suspect had a felony and a misdemeanor warrant for violent offenses. A search incident to arrest found the suspect with 438 grams of marijuana in his possession.
A male juvenile was assaulted in the parking lot by up to five other juveniles, one armed with a baseball bat. The victim, who sustained minor wounds, was treated at a hospital and released. The suspects fled in an automobile. A license plate was obtained by witnesses.
