Officers were called to intercept a train for a report of a male creating a disturbance on a train. The male was contacted and found to have a $10,000 warrant for indecent exposure. The male was booked into the Santa Rita Jail for the warrant.
A victim reported his 1987 gray Toyota Land Cruiser 4 door was burglarized while it was parked and locked in stall #582 at the station between 0730-1800 hours. The rear wing window was smashed, but there was no loss detected from inside the vehicle. The scene was processed for evidence.
A victim made a phone report that his 1995 black Chevrolet Camaro 2 door was burglarized while it was parked and locked at the station between 0700-1800 hours. The passenger side window was smashed, but nothing was taken from inside the vehicle.
A victim reported his 2001 silver Honda Civic 4 door was burglarized while it was parked and locked in stall #1076 at the station between0745-1800 hours. The front passenger window was smashed, and a $100 Pioneer stereo was taken from inside the vehicle. The scene was processed for evidence.
A patron reported their platinum 2000 Honda Civic was burglarized while parked in the Parrott Street lot between 0825-2020 hours. An unkown suspect smashed the right rear wing window to gain entry. The vehicle interior was ransacked, but there was no loss.
The victim reported that her 2002 Honda Civic had been burglarized between the hours of 1500-2000 while parked in the Southwest lot, stall #93. The suspect smashed the driver's side window with an unknown object and removed a Pioneer detachable face CD player from the vehicle. The investigating officer dusted the vehicle for latent prints, but did not locate any.
The victim reported that his 1971 Volkswagen Bug had been burglarized between the hours of 1300-2000 while parked in the lot located on the North side of the station, under the track way. The suspect cheated the lock of the driver's door and removed the detachable face stereo from the dash. The investigating officer dusted the vehicle for latent prints, but did not locate any. The victim did not know the brand of his car stereo.
A victim reported her 1996 green Honda Civic was burglarized while it was parked and locked in the parking lot D between 0745-1750 hours. The driver side window was smashed, and a Pioneer stereo face plate was taken from inside the vehicle. The scene was processed for evidence.
Two patrons reported that their vehicles were burglarized while parked in the lot near Davis Street, between 0900-1600 hours. An unknown suspect smashed the passenger windows to enter and took stereo equipment.
A victim reported a man tried to take his wallet and cell phone while they were at the bus stop. The victim said the man said “give me your wallet” then reached into his pocket. The suspect fled the station toward Davis Street. There were no injuries reported, and video hotline was notified.
The victim's vehicle, a 1990 Ford Ranger, was burglarized on 1/10/13 while parked in the lot of the station. It is unknown at this time, when the burglary occurred or if there was any loss. The investigating officer will be conducting follow up.
An officer was on patrol of the San Leandro Station and located a white GMC Yukon (6TYE516) in the south lot, stall #795 with its front passenger side window shattered and missing from the door frame. The officer checked the interior of the vehicle and saw the radio was missing and the molding on the dashboard was pulled away from the dash. He dusted the vehicle for latent prints but with negative results. The officer left a note instructing the driver to contact our Department to report their loss.
The station agent called the ISRC to report that a male was pushing a female inside the station. The responding officer detained the male suspect, who is in a dating relationship with the female victim. The investigation revealed that the victim had destroyed the suspect's phone by smashing it while on the platform. An argument ensued and both parties ended up in the paid area of the station. According to a witness, the suspect pushed the victim. The suspect was placed under arrest for domestic battery. The victim did not suffer any injuries and refused to cooperate with the officers in the investigation. Despite this, officers booked the suspect into the Santa Rita Jail for domestic battery after being debriefed by the sergeant.
A woman reported that her 2000 Honda Accord 4-dr. vehicle had been burglarized in stall #566 today between 0800-2224 hrs. The front passenger-door window had been smashed. Two wallets and their contents were stolen. The investigating officer processed the vehicle for evidence and latent prints.
An adult female patron reported to a BART Officer that an unknown male suspect took her I-phone and ran away. The victim said she was walking to her car and was using her I-Phone 5 when the suspect (unknown race, 5’10” to 6’00”, thin build, red cap, dark blue jacket, grey pants) approached her from behind and snatched the phone out of her hand. The suspect ran southbound through the parking lot. The phone could not be tracked and San Leandro Police were notified. 1212-2745 L21.
The Alameda County Sheriff's Office advised the ISRC that one of their deputies had a juvenile in custody for possession of an unreported stolen vehicle from the station. The juvenile reportedly committed a traffic violation near the San Leandro/Hayward city border and was stopped by a patrolling deputy. The juvenile admitted to the deputy of stealing the vehicle, a 1992 Saturn, from the station approximately 45 minutes earlier. The registered owner of the vehicle was notified and responded to the station. A BART officer took a stolen vehicle report from the owner. The juvenile was booked by the Alameda County Deputy for auto theft. The identity of the juvenile will be forwarded to the BART PD Detective Division for possible follow-up regarding any BART related auto thefts.
