Jonathan Martinez (20 years old, Richmond) was arrested for 459 P.C., 496 P.C., 11377 (a) H&S, 11364.1 H&S and 1203.2 (a) P.C. at the Richmond Station. Martinez was booked at the Martinez Detention Facility.
John DOE was detained for being in possession of two knives. DOE was subsequently arrested for refusing to identify himself and public intoxication. He was booked into the Martinez Jail. TSOC notified.
A male (Anthony COUNTEE, 26, Richmond) was contacted for public intoxication. Record checks showed that Countee had an outstanding $10,000 arrest warrant for public intoxication, held by San Bruno PD. Countee was booked at the Martinez Detention Facility for public intoxication, probation violation and his warrant.
An adult female was detained for fare evasion. She refused to cooperate and had to be physically restrained. She was ultimately transported to a local hospital for psychiatric evaluation.
Officers responded to the Richmond Station regarding a subject trying to get into the fenced construction area. An officer located Victor Araujo (32 years old, Oakland) who matched the description given. Araujo was detained and a records check revealed Araujo had a no-bail felony warrant. Araujo ran from the officers, a brief foot pursuit ensued and officers were able to apprehend Araujo. Araujo was arrested on the warrant and resisting arrest.
Yaiszu Morikawa (49 years old, Sacramento) attempted to strike a patron. Officers contacted him and he was arrested for violation of a court order which prohibits his presence on BART property. The victim declined to press charges. Morikawa was transported to the Martinez Detention Facility.
Officers received a report of a man armed with a firearm leaving the BART station. The suspect had reportedly been involved in an altercation. Officers searched the surrounding area and located a suspect matching the description. Officers contacted the suspect, and the contact resulted in an officer involved shooting. A firearm was recovered from the suspect.The incident is being investigated by the Richmond Police Department and the Contra Costa County District Attorneys Office, per standard protocol.
A man had taken another man’s iPhone while on the train. When the victim demanded his phone, the suspect threatened the victim with bodily harm and smashed the phone. The suspect later resisted officers while being taken into custody. The officers received minor injuries but needed no medical treatment. The suspect was placed under arrest for robbery, resisting arrest, and providing false identification to the officers.
An officer contacted an adult male (Lawrence Harvey, 47 years, Richmond) for fare evasion and discovered that he had a valid prohibition order to stay away from all BART property. He was cited for fare evasion and booked into the Martinez Detention Facility for violating the order.
Witnesses reported that a male was in a physical altercation with a female inside the station. Officers responded and detained the male (Deangelo GARRETT, 21, Richmond) for domestic violence. The victim was not injured. Garrett was arrested for domestic violence. He was issued a prohibition order and was booked at the Martinez Detention Facility.
