Officers responded to the Richmond Station regarding a subject trying to get into the fenced construction area. An officer located Victor Araujo (32 years old, Oakland) who matched the description given. Araujo was detained and a records check revealed Araujo had a no-bail felony warrant. Araujo ran from the officers, a brief foot pursuit ensued and officers were able to apprehend Araujo. Araujo was arrested on the warrant and resisting arrest.

Officers received a report of a man armed with a firearm leaving the BART station. The suspect had reportedly been involved in an altercation. Officers searched the surrounding area and located a suspect matching the description. Officers contacted the suspect, and the contact resulted in an officer involved shooting. A firearm was recovered from the suspect.The incident is being investigated by the Richmond Police Department and the Contra Costa County District Attorneys Office, per standard protocol.

A man had taken another man’s iPhone while on the train. When the victim demanded his phone, the suspect threatened the victim with bodily harm and smashed the phone. The suspect later resisted officers while being taken into custody. The officers received minor injuries but needed no medical treatment. The suspect was placed under arrest for robbery, resisting arrest, and providing false identification to the officers.

Richmond Fire Department reported a vehicle on fire on the first floor of the parking structure. Officers responded and located a silver 2014 Toyota 4 Runner on fire. RFD determined that the fire had been deliberately set. CCTV captured the suspect setting the fire and officers recognized him as a chronic offender in the area. The investigation is ongoing and officers will attempt to locate the suspect.

A victim reported a burglary of their 2015 Toyota Corolla while it was parked in the parking structure at the Richmond Station. The burglary occurred between 0830 hours on 9/23/17 and 2210 hours on 9/25/17. Entry was made via a broken right side rear wing window. There was no loss.
