A victim reported the theft of their $1500 (orange and white) Rock Hopper men’s mountain bike while it was cable locked at the station, between 1500-1645 hours. The investigating officer completed a report.
A victim reported the theft of his silver/black Motiv Smoothie 21 speed comfort bike (no serial numbers). The victim parked his bike at the north bike racks and secured the bike to the racks using a cable lock at 0810 hours. The loss was discovered at 1715 hours. Loss was estimated at $150.00. An officer completed a bicycle theft report.
A victim was holding a phone in her hand and was standing at the bus stop on the east side of the station. A male suspect rode up on a black mountain bike, grabbed the victim's phone and rode off with the victim's phone. Loss was a white iPhone 4s (no serial number) and tracking software was not installed. The suspect was described as a Black male, 19-20 years old, goatee, green hoodie and jeans. The victim was not injured in this incident. An officer responded to search the area and completed a theft report. Station video was requested.
A patron reported that he set his bicycle (GMC men’s 18 speed bicycle) down to talk to the station agent. The patron then discovered that his bicycle was then gone. The victim called back later from the Macarthur Station and reported that he saw a subject (Black male, 20-25 years old, black shirt, black pants, black shoes) with his bicycle and requested it back. The subject gave the victim his bicycle without incident. Officers searched the area for the subject with negative results.
A victim reported that they locked their bicycle (a blue Fuji 18 speed bicycle) to the bike racks on 8/27/14, at 0630 hours. The bicycle was secured with both a cable lock and kryptonite lock. The victim returned at 2130 hours to find their bicycle gone. The estimated value of the bike is $500.
A victim reported the theft of their burgundy 1999 Subaru Legacy while it was parked in the northeast parking lot, stall #543, between 1020-1739 hours. An officer responded and completed a report.
Two males were arguing on the platform over the elevator. The suspect struck the victim. The victim defended himself and ran downstairs to contact the station agent. The suspect fled from the station. Officers searched the surrounding area and located the suspect in the shopping center, across from the station. An in-field show-up was conducted and the victim positively identified the suspect. A sergeant approved the arrest. The suspect was issued a prohibition order and was booked at the Martinez Detention Facility.
A victim reported the theft of his silver 1998 Nissan Sentra (4BOS540)from the El Cerrito Plaza Station. The victim parked in stall #75 at 0611 hours and returned at 1600 hours to discover his car was missing. An officer completed an auto theft report.
A victim reported the theft of his grey Fuji men’s mountain bicycle - 21-speed - while it was U-locked at the station between 1900 hours on 7/20/14 and 1720 hours on 7/21/14. The victim valued the bicycle at $300.
An anonymous patron reported a male and female were in a struggle at the El Cerrito Station. Officers responded and contacted the male party. The male stated he was at the station to meet his ex-girlfriend and visit with his infant child. During the contact, the female struck the male in the face and the male reacted by biting her. The officers attempted to locate the female at the station but she was gone on arrival. The male was transported to the hospital for facial injuries. He refused an emergency protection order and did not want to press charges against the female. According to the male, the female lives in Suisun. No independent witnesses were located and station video was requested. The case will be followed up and will be sent to Detectives for prosecutuion.
A victim reported a catalytic converter was stolen from his 2006 gray Toyota Tundra while it was parked in stall #101 between 0830-1800 hours. The vehicle was processed for fingerprints with negative results.
Officers responded to a report of a fare evader who was on board a train. The officers intercepted the train, detained the subject in question, and learned that he had an active BART prohibition order. The subject was arrested and booked into the Martinez Detention Facility for trespassing.
Officers responded to the station on the report of a male suspect having battered the on-duty station agent. Based upon the station agent’s description of the suspect an officer and a sergeant detained him in a nearby shopping center. A short time later, the station agent responded to the detention scene, positively identified the suspect and placed him under citizen’s arrest for battery. The sergeant then approved the arrest and debriefed the suspect. The station agent suffered a minor injury as a result of the battery, but declined medical attention. Subsequently, the suspect was issued a prohibition order and booked into the county jail for battery.
A patron reported that their yellow 1990 Ford Ranger pickup was burglarized while parked in stall #295, in the west lot, between 1630-1820 hours. An unknown suspect smashed the passenger window to gain entry and stole $70 in cash from the interior and the vehicle's battery.
A victim reported he was battered by a male at the 19th Street Station. The suspect fled the station aboard a Richmond Bound train. The victim described the suspect as a Black male, 6'0, wearing a blue sweater jacket and brown sweatpants. Officers intercepted the Richmond train at the El Cerrito Station and located a male that off-boarded from the train that matched the clothing description of the battery suspect. The male was detained pending an in-field identification by the victim. A records/warrant check showed the male had a $2000,000 warrant held by SFPD for battery and assault with a deadly weapon. The male was placed under arrest on the warrant. The victim could not respond to the station to identify the suspect but he wanted to press charges against the male for battery. A complaint for battery is pending. A sergeant approved the arrest and the male was booked at the Martinez Detention Facility.
