Witnesses on the train platform and the train operator confirmed the male was not pushed off the platform but fell into the trackway. Orinda - 1311-0166

The on duty station agent reported an adult male, described as a WM, 6'0, brown hair, scraggly beard, was attempting to break the pad lock to a closed construction site at the station.  Before officers arrived, the suspect entered the construction site and removed tools.  The agent observed the suspect wrap the tools in a shirt and place them in a suitcase he was in possession of.  Orinda PD officers responded and detained the suspect.  BART PD officers arrived a short time later and determined that the suspect had forced entry into the locked construction site.  The suspect was in possession of two large wrenches wrapped in a shirt.  The suspect was clear on a records check and listed as a transient.    The investigating officer attempted to interview the suspect but was unable to because the suspect was possibly under the influence of an unknown substance.  The suspect was issued a prohibition order before being booked into the Martinez Detention Facility on the above listed charge.
