An officer took reports on the following burglarized vehicles that were parked and locked in the west parking lot between 1000-1330 hours: 1. 1997 gold Geo Prizm; stall 609; rear passenger window smashed; Kenwood CD stereo taken; print lifted. 2. 1986 gray Volvo 740; stall #605; rear passenger window smashed; loss unknown. 3. 2007 gray Mazda Miata; stall #739; driver side window smashed; stereo and iPod taken. 4. 2006 black Chevrolet Corvette; stall #385; passenger side window smashed; radio taken. 5. 2003 white Infinity G35; stall #585; passenger side window smashed; two iPods taken; partial palm print lifted from passenger door. 6. 1999 green Dodge truck; stall #517; passenger side window smashed; radio taken.
A victim reported her 2005 black Volkswagen 4 door was burglarized while it was parked and locked in stall #105 between 0710-2000 hours. The rear passenger window was smashed and a $260.00 JVC stereo was taken from inside her vehicle. A latent fingerprint was taken from the scene.
A victim parked his 1995 Toyota Land Cruiser (3WMD856) in the west lot on 5/7/15, at 0645 hours. He returned to his vehicle at 1800 hours and discovered someone had removed his catalytic converter from the vehicle. Loss was estimated at $2,500. The vehicle was not available to process for finger prints. An officer completed a theft report.
A victim reported his 2002 dark gray Acura RSX was burglarized while it was parked and locked in stall #1097 between 0740-1830 hours. The method of entry was unknown and the cover of the steering column was taken from inside the vehicle. The vehicle was processed for prints with negative results.
A patron reported a purple 1995 Nissan truck (5F13627) was burglarized while parked in stall #1175 (east lot) of the Orinda Station. The driver's window was smashed and property was found on the ground next to the truck. The truck was dusted for prints but no prints were located. A note was left with the vehicle. Loss is unknown at this time.
An officer responded to a report of a subject who was creating a disturbance at the station. The subject was reportedly yelling profanities and racial slurs. The officer detained the subject in question and discovered he had an active BART prohibition order. The subject was arrested and booked into the Martinez Detention Facility for trespassing. Sergeant D. Salas approved the arrest.
A victim reported his 1994 silver Toyota Camry 4 door was burglarized while it was parked and locked in stall #1095 in the upper lot between 0745-1845 hours. The method of entry was unknown, and a Pioneer stereo was taken from inside the vehicle. The vehicle was processed for latent prints with negative results.
A victim reported his 2000 white GMC Yukon was burglarized while it was parked and locked in stall #1072 in the upper lot between 0745-1845 hours. The point of entry was unknown and the interior of the vehicle was ransacked. The vehicle was processed for latent prints with negative results.
A victim reported his 2003 blue Toyota Tundra was burglarized while it was parked and locked in stall #1067 in the upper lot between 0730-1830 hours. The rear passenger window was smashed, and a stereo system was taken from inside the vehicle. Latent prints were taken from the vehicle.
A victim reported his 2000 black Dodge Ram truck was burglarized while it was parked and locked in the east lot between 0750-1830 hours. The rear shell window was smashed and a $200.00 DVD player taken from inside the vehicle. Latent prints were processed and lifted from the vehicle.
A victim reported his 2002 beige Toyota Corolla 4 door was burglarized while it was parked and locked in stall #1020 in the east lot between 0705-1715 hours. The point of entry is unknown, and a Pioneer stereo was taken from inside the vehicle. The vehicle was processed for fingerprints but none were found.
A train operator saw a male fall into the trackway as the train was pulling into the Orinda station. The train operator was able to stop the train before the train hit the male. A patron jumped down onto the trackway and pulled the male to a safe location under the lip of the platform. Fire, and paramedics arrived on scene and began treating the males injuries. Officers began an investigation to determine if a criminal act or a medical condition caused the male to fall into the trackway. Witnesses on the train platform and the train operator confirmed the male was not pushed off the platform but fell into the trackway. The male sustained head/facial injuries, abrasions to his knees and was transport to John Muir Hospital. It appears at this time, a medical condition caused the male to fall off the platform. The incident train was delayed approximately 15 minutes. Trains were diverted to the opposite trackway and service was restored at 0733 hours.
An officer responded to a report of theft of a cell phone on a Pittsburg bound train. Upon arrival and further investigation, it was determined the suspect tried to take a cell phone from a patron but the victim struggled and maintained possession of her property. The victim had off boarded at a prior station, but a witness positively identified the suspect as the person who attempted to steal the victim’s phone. The suspect was placed under arrest for attempt robbery. There were no reported injuries. A warrant check on the suspect revealed an outstanding $15,000.00 arrest warrant out of San Francisco for narcotics. A sergeant arrived at the scene to approve the arrest and interview the suspect, but the suspect refused to provide a statement. The suspect was arrested for attempt robbery and the warrant, and was also issued a 30 day BART prohibition order.
A station agent reported that a male subject appeared to be intoxicated and mentally challenged. The male asked a cab driver if he wanted "an experience." The male was last seen walking around the parking lot. Officers arrived on scene and determined the male was under the influence of alcohol and was too intoxicated to care for himself. The male was placed under arrest for public intoxication and a sergeant responded to approve the arrest. The male was booked into the Martinez Detention Center.
