A Blackberry cell phone was snatched from the possession of a patron who was walking down the stairs into the station from street level. The suspect was a male in his late teens, medium build, short hair and wearing a light colored shirt. 0609-1301. L18.
A large crowd of demonstrators en route to San Francisco to participate in an "Immigration rights" protest fare evaded at Berkeley station. The station agent reported the size of the crowd at 300. It is not known how many evaded fare but one individual was seen holding a fare gate open while a large number filtered through to enter without using a ticket.
A train operator observed a suspicious dueffel bag just outside of the platform area adjacent the trackway. Train service was interrupted and the platform cleared as the bag was examined by responding officers. It was determined to be non-hazardous.
A disturbance between two groups of juvenile females resulted in one being stabbed in the hand and slashed just above her left eye with a knife. The victim was treated at a local hospital for her non-life-threatening injuries. The suspect/s fled prior to the arrival of responding officers.
A Hispanic male reported, via translator, that he was being followed at the Berkeley Main station. An officer responded and determined that the subject was paranoid. The subject later admitted to controlled substance use and requested medical assistance. The subject was taken by AMR via restraints to Highland Hospital for medical and psychiatric evaluation. 0606-2305 S-44
Officers from the Special Enforcement Team on-viewed a subject defrauding a ticket vendor via the use of an altered ticket. The suspect was arrested and booked on a number of charges including burglary and possession of stolen property.
A 23-year-old male was arrested for attempted murder after he grabbed another man and attempted to push him in front of a train. Several patrons intervened and subdued the suspect. The suspect was booked at the Berkeley Jail.
April 5, 2006 @1850 pst Plain clothes SET team officers observed a 23 year old male upgrading altered tickets at the Berkeley BART station. They detained him and found him in possession of several altered and new recently upgraded tickets. Subject was booked for burglary, making altered tickets, computer fraud, and possession of burglary tools. 0604-0661 by S46
