A Peet’s Coffee employee from the store located in the station reported a female suspect took $5.00 from a ticket vendor, which belonged to a male patron. The Peet’s employee recognized the suspect (by name) as a regular public nuisance at the station and attempted to get the money back; and was subsequently battered by the suspect. The suspect exited the station to street-level. The battery victim was not injured. Officers conducted an area search for the suspect with negative results. The theft victim did not want to pursue a complaint, but the Peet’s employee did want to pursue battery complaint against the suspect. The officers put together a six-pack photo line-up and the battery victim positively identified the suspect. Charges will be sought against the suspect, who has more than 100 documented contacts on file, most of which are for public nuisance violations in Zone 4.
Officers contacted a suspect who was asleep on the floor on the concourse level. The male suspect became very agitated and spit numerous times on the floor. The officers attempted to detain the male who was not cooperative. At one point one officer place her hand on the suspect's chest as he tried to walk past her. The suspect violently hit her hand away. He was arrested for battery on a peace officer. He was booked at San Francisco County Jail for the battery, expectorating and two small warrants from another jurisdiction.
A female subject ran into the station and reported that a male subject tried rob her of her purse and also tried to stab her. This occurred topside, on New Montgomery and Market streets. The suspect was described as a black male, 38-45 years of age, black jacket and carrying a black bag. The knife was described as silver with a 4-5 inch blade. A BART Sergeant and Officers responded along with SFPD. A search was conducted with negative results. SFPD took the case.
An unidentified patron reported a male acting erratically on a train and threatening patrons with his cane. No victims or complainants came forward, but record checks revealed the male suspect had a current stay-away order from all BART stations. The male was arrested on the court order violation and was booked at San Francisco County Jail.
BART Police received a call that a suspect punched an adult female passenger while on board a Dublin bound train at the station and then off-boarded. The suspect was described as an unknown white male adult 35-40 years, 5’9”, 160, brown hair, blue eyes, wearing a yellow jacket, blue jeans and was carrying a black bag. The female victim said the suspect got up to leave the train and punched her in the shoulder before leaving for an unknown reason. The victim was not injured. Officers searched for the suspect but were unable to locate him. The victim stayed aboard the train and was contacted by an officer at the West Oakland Station.
Patrons on a San Francisco bound train at the station reported that two suspects took a victim’s iPad while on the train, and several patrons had one of suspect apprehended on the platform. San Francisco Police arrived and placed one of the suspect in handcuffs. The victim off-boarded the train at the San Francisco Airport Station, and confirmed that his iPad had been taken. The suspect was placed under arrest for grand theft. Investigation is on going. 1112-0042 L12.
A station agent reported that a man spat on him while they were near the agent’s booth. The agent said the man then left the station toward Sutter Street. The man reportedly has had prior contacts with BART Police for unruly conduct inside the San Francisco stations. Officers searched the immediate area for the suspect with negative results. 1111-3451 L12.
Officers conducted a welfare check on a male suspect who was lodging on the concourse level of the station. Upon a records check, the suspect had two outstanding arrest warrants out of SFPD for theft and public nuisance offenses. The suspect was subsequently arrested on the warrants. The suspect was also in possession of a crack pipe. The suspect was booked on the warrants and possession of drug paraphernalia. 1111-0190 L10.
Officers were dispatched to a call of a fight that was occurring on the platform at the station between two adult white males. BART Officers responded and found a subject that had a swollen lip at the scene. He eventually admitted that he had been arguing with a friend and the friend punched him in the mouth one time. They are friends and had attended the S.F. Giants game together and neither party wanted to make a complaint on the other and each went on their separate ways. The trains were kept delayed for seven minutes as a result of people reportedly fighting on the platform.
A patron/victim reported being “bumped” by someone as he prepared to exit a south bound train at Montgomery station and then noticed his smart phone was missing. No suspect description reported or direction of flight.
A station agent called to report a habitual female panhandler who was wearing baggy pants which were causing her to expose herself. Officers made contact with the female and determined that she had a $20,000 San Francisco warrant for panhandling offenses and two BART infraction warrants. The exposure was determined to be inadvertent and the officers were not able to locate a complainant regarding the panhandling, so the female was booked at San Francisco County Jail for the warrants only.
Officers responded to the station on a report of a male suspect who threatened to fight the station agent. Apparently, the agent was trying to close the station, as train service had ended, and told the suspect such. The suspect threatened to fight the agent and then proceeded to the platform. Officers contacted the suspect on the platform and determined he was intoxicated. The suspect was arrested without incident for public intoxication and booked into SF City jail.
The station agent called to report an adult male possibly under the influence or drugs or alcohol. The agent reported that the male had been climbing on the grill at the entrance of the station and eventually passed out. Upon contact with officers, the male began kicking at the officers and had to be restrained until the ambulance arrived. Officers determined that the male was a danger to himself and others, so he was transported to St. Francis Hospital for psychiatric evaluation.
7/1/11 – 2051 Anonymous victims’ reported that a 47 year old white male subject wearing a police hat had brandished a knife at them at the MacDonald’s near 2nd & Market and followed them to the station. The victims were adamant that they did not want to give their names or make a report but wanted the suspect stopped. When officers arrived it was learned that the suspect had already left via the Sansome/Sutter St. exit. SFPD was notified. About 45 minutes later, officers at Powell Street Station noticed a subject matching the description of the earlier brandishing suspect and contacted him. A routine warrant check revealed that the subject had a warrant for possession of a concealed dirk or dagger and brandishing a weapon, in addition to a miscellaneous traffic warrant. Both warrants were out of San Francisco. The suspect was arrested for the warrant and booked at San Francisco County Jail.
While on a patrol check of the station, BART officers conducted a welfare check on a female sitting on the floor in front of the ticket machines. The officer checked the female for warrants and discovered two misdemeanor warrants totaling over 20,000 dollars. The warrants were confirmed and she was booked at San Francisco County Jail.
A man reported that his i-phone was snatched out of his hand on the platform. The male suspect escaped towards the Sansome and Sutter Streets exit of the station. (suspect description: B-M, late teens to early 20’s, red baseball cap, gray T-shirt or sweatshirt, baggy blue or black jeans, black back pack)
Officers responded to a report of a female panhandling in the station with a young boy. Officers determined the boy should be in school and notified Child Protective Services. CPS informed the officers that the woman is a habitual panhandler and asked the officers to take custody of the boy, which they did. The boy was turned over to CPS.
A patron exiting the station was confronted by two suspects. One suspect grabbed the patrons laptop computer and the second suspect hit the patron in the face. Both suspects fled in opposite directions. Responding officers did an area check and were unable to locate any suspects. SFPD was provided with a BOLO at the time the crime was reported. 1104-2728 L23 (S55)
Citizens reported a disturbance aboard a train at Montgomery Station. Several parties were arguing about a possible theft of a cell phone on the train. While officers were responding to the call, reports were received that there might be weapons involved. When officers arrived on scene, they discovered that up to sixteen people were involved in the dispute on one train car. After conducting their investigation, officers learned that there was no merit to the report of weapons. All property was returned to the rightful owners and all parties declined to press charges. The train was held approximately 17 minutes while the case was investigated.
A male suspect engaged a female victim in conversation and then attempted to take her purse by force. The victim resisted the suspect's efforts and was successful in retaining control of her purse, but the straps were broken by the force of the attempt. The suspect fled on foot after making the attempt. Officers showed the victim a photo line-up and the victim was able to identify a suspect from the pictures. The suspect who was identified has also been identified as being responsible for another robbery in the area (1011-1254). Officers searched the area and trains leaving the area, but were not able to locate the suspect tonight.
A woman was sitting on a train holding an e-book reader when a suspect came up from behind the victim, grabbed the device and fled on foot from the train with the loss. The suspect was described as a Black Male, 20's, 5'10" tall, wearing a blue and green hoodie. The suspect was not located.
Officers responded to the station to investigate a report of people chasing a suspect who had just stolen something. On arrival the officers located the victim who reported that they had been sitting in an aisle seat on a Daly City bound train when a suspect approached them from behind and grabbed their iPhone from their hand and fled with the loss. The suspect fled from the station and was not located. The suspect was described as a Black Male, 20 years old, 5'10" tall, thin build, wearing dark clothing.
An adult female on the train had her iPhone snatched from her hand by an unknown suspect as the train arrived at the Montgomery station. The suspect fled on foot with the loss and was not located.
On 10/04/10 at 0916 hours BART Police Officers responded to the Montgomery Street Station in San Francisco for a report of an unattended black suitcase left on the city streets near the Montgomery and Market BART entrance. A check for the suitcase met with negative results.
Officers on routine patrol detained a suspect for lodging at the Montgomery Street Station in San Francisco. The suspect had an outstanding ten thousand dollar warrant for theft and was arrested and booked at the San Francisco County Jail.
