A patron boarded a Dublin bound train at Powell and sat in the seats by the train doors holding an iPhone. While the train was approaching the Montgomery station, a suspect attempted to take the phone from the victim's control by force. The victim resisted the suspect's efforts, but the suspect was able to take the phone and flee on foot from the train. Officers were unable to locate the suspect who was described as a black male, 20 years old, wearing a black hat and a black jacket.
A male was walking through the station when a suspect described as a black male, 18-19 years old, 5'7"-5'8", wearing a black baseball cap and black jacket approached him and took an iPhone from his hand. The suspect fled out of the station through the Sansome/Sutter Street entrance and was not located by responding officers.
Officers responded to a report of a man being chased into the station by another male screaming and holding a knife. According to the victim, the suspect walked by him and for no apparent reason told him to "Watch himself", then threatened to kill him. Officers were unable to locate the suspect, described as a black male, thin, in his 50's armed with a long knife with a yellow handle.
A sergeant detained a 47-year-old male pickpocket suspect aboard a train. The female victim declined to press charges after the sergeant recovered her loss, an I-phone. The suspect was arrested on a $5,000 battery warrant out of San Francisco and booked at the San Francisco jail.
A female patron reported that she had her iPhone and wallet snatched from her possession while at the Montgomery St. Station. The offense occurred on a stairwell leading into the station from the street level. The suspects were described as three black males and two black females, 20-25 years of age. All left the area on foot.
The flower vendor at the Montgomery St. flower shop adjacent to the agent's booth suffered the loss of a laptop computer when two adult males wandered into the store pretending to want to purchase flowers. While one distracted the vendor, the other grabbed the laptop and fled topside to the street level with the other suspect behind him. Neither were located after an area search.
An adult female was on the platform at the station when an adult male suspect approached her, forcibly took her cell-phone and threatened her with physical harm if she resisted or attempted to get the phone back. The suspect fled from the station on foot with the loss and the victim was not injured. An area search did not locate the suspect or the loss.
Three male teens attacked an adult male patron at the Sutter St. entrance and attempted to rob him. The incident occurred as the victim was attempting to use the escalator but was blocked by two of the suspects. The victim was struck when the suspects attempted to rifle the former's pocket for a wallet, but he did not carry one. There was no loss.
San Francisco Police reported an armed male suspect had just robbed a bank, and entered the Mongtomery Street station. BART officers assisted in the search, holding trains outside the station. The suspect was arrested by San Francisco Police a few minutes later after exiting the Powell Street station. 0904-0864 L12.
Trains were held out of the station after the station agent reported an adult male "trying to kill himself". It is unknown at this time just how the subject was attempting to do so. Responding officers were able to locate the subject and took him into custody without incident. The subject was then transported to a local hospital for a psychological evaluation.
A patron on a Milbrae-bound train had her iPhone snatched from her possession by a male in his mid to late teens. The suspect committed the theft as the train arrived at Montgomery St. Station. The suspect and two female companions, also in their teens, fled the train and station. A search of the area by responding officers failed to locate the suspect and his companions.
An adult male patron was seated aboard a Pittsburg bound train with his lap top on the seat next to him. When the train doors opened at Montgomery Street Station, an adult male suspect grabbed the lap top and walked off the train. When the victim confronted the suspect on the platform, the suspect punched the victim's face, dropped the lap top and fled prior to the arrival of responding officers.
A man was followed into an elevator by three male suspects while inside the Montgomery Street station. One of the suspects threatened the victim with a pair of scissors, and demanded money. A station agent witnessed the activity inside the elevator via a camera, and telephoned the police. The suspects then escorted the victim to an ATM machine, and took $500.00, a cell phone, and a laptop from the victim. The police arrived, and detained two of the suspects who were in possession of the victim's property. The suspects were positively identified by the victim, and were arrested and booked into San Francisco jail for robbery.
A subject identifying himself as a psychiatric trauma nurse reported that a suicidal adult male, carrying a "Mac 10" type automatic weapon, was aboard a train heading northbound from Civic Center. The train was intercepted at the Montgomery station. Trains that the subject could have possibly been on were searched with negative results. Both Powell St. and Montgomery stations, including street level, were also searched with negative results.
A female patron was the victim of a purse snatch when two males in their twenties approached her on the platform and grabbed a bag containing her medication. The suspects fled up the stairs to the concourse level and disappeared.
Montgomery St. station was closed to pedestrians and revenue service for an hour after an anonymous citizen turned a suspicious package over to the station agent. The zone sergeant and other officers responded, examined the contents which they found suspicious enough to call for an explosives detection K9. The K9 failed to alert on the object which was later found to be a possible battery case.
A 17 year old male patron was talking on his cell phone when he was attacked from behind. An unknown male adult suspect sucker punched the victim in the back of the head and stole the victim's phone. The suspect then stabbed the victim a couple of times in the upper torso, fled from the scene, and was not located. The victim was treated at the scene for his non-life threatening injuries and transported to a local hospital for further treatment. Detectives responded to investigate, and the chief and commander were notified.
A patron confined to a wheelchair reported to officers that his cellphone was stolen. The patron said he was boarding the Montgomery St. station elevator when an adult male suspect grabbed the victim's cellphone and ran in an unknown direction. Suspect was not located in an area search. 0807-1270. L21.
A sergeant observed a subject that was believed to have an outstanding warrant. A warrants check showed that subject had a $55,000 warrant for a previous indecent exposure case on BART while in San Francisco. The subject was arrested and booked for the warrant without incident.
An adult female was held for psychiatric evaluation after she reportedly climbed down onto the trackway from the platform, positioned herself on the tracks, then curled up into a ball as a train ran over/above her. Fire and rescue personnel found her uninjured beneath the train and removed her without incident. She was transported to a local hospital for a medical exam and subsequent psychiatric hold.
Trains were held and searched after a citizen reported that a subject threatened to shoot him near Market and Montomery Streets. The suspect, who claimed to have a gun, allegedly proceeded to the platform level of the station after making the threat. Trains were searched at Powell St. station without success.
