San Francisco police officers chased a robbery suspect into the Powell St. station, and followed the suspect as he ran through the subway toward Montgomery St. station. The suspect was apprehended at Montgomery St. station. The robbery occurred in San Francisco jurisdiction. A roll call for San Francisco officers was conducted before train service was restored. Officers on patrol on-viewed a strong-arm robbery in progress as the suspect was attempting to flee into the station from Market Street. The suspect grabbed a woman's purse then dragged her down some twenty stairs as the victim attempted to hold onto it. The suspect was taken into custody and booked for the robbery in addition to a no-bail parole violation warrant.
hrs. An adult male was assaulted and battered by another adult male passenger while on board a train. Responding officers searched stations/trains for the suspect without success. Victim required no medical.
