A passenger reported that a male suspect (BM, 18 years, black jacket, black striped pants) grabbed their laptop computer from their hand and fled out of the station. The victim was not injured. The suspect was not located. Video will be requested.
While on patrol, officers observed and detained a subject for fare evasion. A wants check revealed that the subject had a no bail $50k warrant charging robbery issued from the Palo Alto Police Department. The subject was arrested and booked into the North County Jail for his warrant.
Patrons on board the Dublin bound train reported that a black male suspect was walking through the train with no shirt on, acting erratically. Officers intercepted the train and located the man. Record checks showed that he had two outstanding $5,000 arrest warrants for narcotics violations, held by the San Mateo County Sheriff's Office. The man was arrested for his warrants and was booked at Santa Rita Jail.
2-11-17, 1444 hours A male fare evaded. The subsequent investigation by BART Officers resulted in the suspect being arrested for a 25K warrant for indecent exposure out of San Jose State PD. Suspect was booked at the Glynn Dyer Jail.
An officer attempted to detain a female suspect for fare evasion, but she refused to cooperate by walking away from the officer. The officer then used physical force to restrain the suspect, during which she kicked and spat upon the officer. The on-duty watch commander responded as well and assisted in handcuffing the suspect, along with the assistance of a Good Samaritan. Assisting officers then arrived, followed by two sergeants. Firefighters and paramedics responded in order to tend to the suspect, but she refused medical assistance; the officer did not require medical attention. Subsequently, the suspect was issued a prohibition order and booked into the county jail for battering the officer and resisting arrest.
Officers intercepted a train that was held at the Lake Merritt Station for a report of a male attempting to stab two victims. Officers located the suspect and detained him. After making suicidal statements, the suspect was placed on an emergency psychological detention, with criminal charges pending. A prohibition order was issued to the suspect.
A male suspect detained for fare evasion by officers was found to have an outstanding $30K burglary warrant for his arrest. The suspect was placed under arrest for the warrant and then booked into the county jail.
Two patrons reported that their vehicles were burglarized while parked in lot A, between 1300-1720 hours. A blue 2011 Toyota Corolla was parked in stall #51, and a silver 2008 Toyota Camry was parked in stall #49. An unknown suspect smashed the left rear window of both vehicles to gain entry. The interiors were ransacked, but the owners could not identify any loss.
An adult male suspect was detained for fare evasion. A records check revealed two felony no-bail warrants, one held by the California Department of Corrections for a parole violation, and the other held by Solano County SO for robbery. The suspect was placed under arrest for the warrants and booked into the Glenn Dyer Jail.
A victim reported the theft of their Surly single speed from inside a bike locker at the Lake Merritt Station. The victim lost his wallet that contained the bike locker key card between 2/1 and 2/2/17. No damage to bike locker.
The female victim reported that while aboard a crowded Richmond bound train, she sat in a seat adjacent to the male suspect who was asleep at the time. When the suspect awoke, however, he told the victim that she could not sit next to him while pushing her away; she was not injured. Fearing for her safety, the victim moved and reported the battery. Officers responded and eventually placed the suspect under arrest, per the victim’s citizen’s arrest, for battery. The suspect was subsequently issued a prohibition order and booked into the county jail.
A male suspect ran from an officer who initially detained him for fare evasion. An assisting officer chased after the suspect on-foot and took him into custody in a nearby residential area. A warrants check determined the suspect’s identification and an outstanding drug-related probation violation warrant for his arrest. The suspect was then booked into the county jail for resisting arrest, providing false identification to police and the outstanding warrant.
A victim reported that he parked and locked his vehicle in lot A at 1030 hours on 1/11 and when he returned at 0040 hours on 1/12, the vehicle was still locked and not damaged, but his paperwork, the face plate to his car stereo and a guitar from the trunk were gone. It is possible a suspect used a shaved key to enter the vehicle and remove the items. The vehicle was not processed due to rain.
A male appeared to be in mental distress when the Officers came upon the scene. The male had to be held down in order to prevent him from going back on the track. A BART Sgt conducted the use of force investigation.
Officers responded to the station on a report of a very intoxicated male on a train. The officers located the reporting party who pointed out the suspect. The officers observed that the male was heavily intoxicated, and placed him under arrest. A records check revealed that the suspect was on probation out of BART PD for public intoxication. The suspect was booked into the Santa Rita Jail on the above listed charges.
A female victim reported that while aboard a train, a black male (wearing a black beanie, black hoodie and blue sweatpants) snatched her iPhone 7 from her grasp and fled from the train. An officer and a sergeant responded, but they were unable to locate the suspect. The officer was unable to track the phone.
While attempting to detain a resistant female suspect for reportedly battering patrons aboard a train, officers used physical force to place her in handcuffs. The officers soon determined the suspect was in need of psychiatric help, and she was subsequently placed on a psychiatric hold at a local hospital. A sergeant responded to perform the use of force investigation. No patrons came forward wishing to pursue a complaint(s) against the suspect, and no one was injured during the incident.
A victim reported the theft of her Specialized Dolce 12 speed women's road bike from the Lake Merritt Station, between 1000-2200 hours. The bike was secured to a bike rack in the paid area with a chain and the front wheel was locked to the bike rack with a U-Lock.
A male suspect detained for fare evasion by officers was found to have an outstanding “no bail” felony theft warrant, issued by the Berkeley Police Department, for his arrest. The suspect was placed under arrest for the warrant without incident, and then booked into the county jail.
A female victim reported that a male suspect grabbed her iPhone 6 from her hand and ran out of the train. The suspect was not located and the phone could not be tracked. The victim was not injured. Train/station video will be requested.
An officer contacted an adult male for fare evasion and the male ran from the officer. He ran out of the station and was taken into custody after he got caught on a barbed wire fence nearby. The male was issued a citation for fare evasion and spitting in the station and booked into the Glenn Dyer Jail for resisting arrest. No one was injured as a result of the incident.
Patrons on board the Dublin train reported that a male was creating a disturbance, and was armed with a knife. Officers responded and detained the man, who was found to have a folding knife, with the blade locked open, concealed in his pants pocket. No complainants came forward for any crimes on the train. Witnesses reported that the man did not brandish the knife at anyone. Officers determined that the man was intoxicated in public. He was arrested and booked for public intoxication and possession of a dirk/dagger, and was booked at Glenn Dyer Jail.
