Witnesses reported that a male suspect had struck a female passenger without provocation, on a Daly City bound train. Other passengers detained the man until officers arrived. The man was found to be on probation for battery. He was arrested for battery on a transit passenger and probation violation. He was issued a prohibition order and was transported to John George Pavilion for psychiatric evaluation, with a criminal hold. The victim was not injured.
An officer stopped a male (Jesse Duenas, 54 years, Oakland) for fare evading through the emergency gate to enter the Lake Merritt Station. A records check showed Duenas has a 50K warrant for fraud issued by Yolo County and 5K warrant for possession of burglary tolls issued by BART. Duenas was cited for fare evasion and was booked on the warrants.

A victim reported her necklace was stolen while aboard a Daly City bound train that was stopped at Fruitvale. The suspect (Alan Salneron, 19 years, Oakland) stayed on the train and officers intercepted the train at Lake Merritt. Salneron was located on the train and after a short foot pursuit, was taken into custody. The victim positively identified Salneron and her necklace was recovered. Salneron was booked into the Glenn Dyer Jail.
An officer noticed a male walking through the station with a wooden stick in his backpack. The officer contacted the male, who said that he keeps the stick for protection. The stick was determined to be a billy club, so the male (Henry Coots, 37 years old, Frankfort, Kentucky) was arrested for the weapons possession charge and booked into the Santa Rita Jail.
Officers responded to a male (Garrett Rawlings, 26 years old, San Jose) passed out on a train. Officers contacted Rawlings and discovered that hes had a $50,000 warrant. Rawlings was transported and booked into the Santa Rita Jail.
Officers on-viewed a male subject fare evade at the Lake Merritt BART Station. Upon contact, the male, later identified as Joshua Melden (27 years old, San Francisco), falsely identified himself and resisted arrest. Officers also determined that the male was unable to care for himself due to alcohol intoxication. Melden was booked into Santa Rita County Jail.
An officer contacted an adult male for fare evasion and discovered that he had a no bail warrant for battery. The male (Eugene Griffin, 28 years old, Oakland) was issued a citation for fare evasion and booked into the Glenn Dyer Jail for the warrant.
A victim reported that they locked their bicycle at the Lake Merritt Station on 8/18/17 at 1630 hours. The bicycle was secured with cable lock. The victim returned on 8/21/17 at 0755 hours to find their bicycle gone.
Officers were monitoring the fare gates for fare evaders at the Lake Merritt Station and stopped a male (Alexander Taylor, 33 years old, Berkeley) for fare evading through the fare gates. A warrant check revealed Taylor had two warrants totaling $75K. Taylor was cited for fare evasion and was booked on the warrants at Glenn Dyer Jail.

The officers made contact with the suspect in question, and a wants check revealed that he had an outstanding felony no bail warrant for his arrest for narcotics issued out of SFPD. The subject was arrested for the warrant, resisting/delaying a peace officer and providing false identity to a peace officer. The subject was booked at the Santa Rita jail.
An officer responded to the station agent’s booth to meet with a female victim who reported a male subject who had off-boarded from a train had reached under her skirt to grab her buttocks. The female described the person as being a Black male adult, 6’, medium build, with a short buzz cut, wearing a light blue t-shirt and dark jeans. An officer detained a male suspect for reportedly stealing a bicycle part. A witness positively identified the suspect as the responsible, and he was placed under arrest for theft. A criminal history check of the suspect also revealed he was on active parole for robbery conviction. The suspect was eventually booked into the county jail for theft and violating the terms of his parole.
A male suspect physically resisted officers’ efforts to detain him for creating a disturbance. Before being restrained in handcuffs, the suspect battered one officer and threatened to shoot the (3) officers; he was found not to be in possession of a weapon. A sergeant responded to approve the arrest and perform the use of force investigation. The suspect was then issued a prohibition order and booked into the county jail for battering the officer, making criminal threats and for violating the terms of his criminal threats-related probation. One officer sustained a minor injury, but did not require further medical attention.
