A bus driver taking a break in his bus overheard a verbal commotion in the bus zone between a male and a female. When the driver tried to intercede on behalf of the female, the male brandished a handgun tucked in his waistband and threatened to shoot the driver. The suspect was taken into custody in the plaza area and later booked at juvenile hall.
A system service worker intervened in an argument between two patrons at Fruitvale station. One of the patrons, an adult female, punched the worker in the face. Police officers responded and took the woman into custody. She was booked at Glenn Dyer Jail for battery. 0703-2546. L21.
Two adult suspects attempted to take an electronic game from a juvenile male. An adult couple intervened on behalf of the juvenile and followed the suspects as they were leaving the station. One of the suspects then brandished a handgun and both suspects fled on bicycles. Officers searched the station and surrounding neighborhood with negative results. 0703-1057. L21.
Officers responded to the Fruitvale Station area for an armed robbery that occurred in the lot just south of the station. Officers detained two possible male juvenile suspects a couple of blocks away. Although they were not identified as the robbers, one of them was found to be in the possession of a loaded revolver. The juvenile suspect was booked into Juvenile Hall. The robbery case was turned over to Oakland Police.
A female patron was walking in the parking structure when she was confronted by two juvenile suspects. They grabbed her purse and attempted to steal it from her. The victim was able to fight off her attackers and keep her purse. The suspects fled and were not located. The victim was not injured.
An adult male subject was contacted for being on the trackway at the Fruitvale station. The subject had an outstanding warrant for drug possession and was arrested. He was also found to be in possession of several pieces of rock cocaine as well as powdered cocaine. Booked on the warrant and drug charges.
A subject was on-viewed evading fare by officers on patrol. When confronted the subject resisted arrest. After taken into custody, the subject was booked for resisting and for an outstanding warrant out of Alameda County for burglary.
A female patron walking to her car parked in the Derby parking lot was the victim of a purse snatch committed by two juvenile males. Responding officers were unable to locate the suspects who fled on foot towards Fruitvale Ave. One suspect was described as wearing a black and white camoflauge jacket, the other wearing all dark clothing.
A subject reported to be in possession of a stolen fare voucher was arrested and booked after a foot chase. The subject attempted to flee when it was determined that he was wanted out of Texas for a no-bail probation violation warrant (sexual assault on a child). Texas authorities will extradite.
An officer on patrol on-viewed and detained an adult male acting suspiciously in the parking structure. The subject was subsequently arrested and booked on an outstanding no-bail felony narcotics violation warrant issued by the California Department of Corrections.
A BART PD K9 was used to assist in the search for a burglar reportedly armed with a rifle and was breaking into cars on E.12th St. Oakland police set up a perimeter adjacent to the Fruitvale station and the K9 searched a creek area near 38th Ave without success. The rifle, which turned out to be a pellet rifle stolen in one of the burglaries, was recovered.
An officer patrolling the parking structure, observed an adult female crawling out of the broken driver window of a pickup truck. The officer detained the suspect, and found her in possession of burglary tools and drug paraphernalia. A second burglarized vehicle was located nearby. Once in custody for the burglaries, the suspect said she was suicidal. The suspect was committed at a local hospital for evaluation, with a subsequent criminal hold.
Officers contacted a man who was yelling at patrons at Fruitvale station. The suspect also shoved an elderly male. Officers determined the suspect had a warrant for a narcotics violation and he was taken into custody. Suspect was booked at Glenn Dyer Jail. 0612-0747 L21.
An alert officer observed an adult male burglarizing a Jeep Cherokee, parked in the Fruitvale Station lot. Officers placed the suspect in custody, then found a second burglarized vehicle in the lot. The suspect was also in possession of the in-dash stereo from the second vehicle, and was subsequently booked at the North County Jail.
Officers responded to a report from a Fruitvale Village security guard of a subject being beaten in the Fruitvale Village Plaza. The victim was beaten to the point of collapse by a juvenile male who was later taken into custody by OPD a few blocks away.
While on platform #1, an officer asked an adult male to stop riding his skateboard. The suspect approached the officer, yelling and preparing to fight. The officer wrestled the violently resistive suspect to the ground. It took two officers to get the suspect into custody, and he was subsequently arrested and booked.
A routine traffic stop resulted in the arrest of an adult male for an outstanding felony no-bail burglary warrant in addition to a $30,000 warrant charging spousal battery, brandishing a deadly weapon, false imprisonment and terrorist threats.
