A patron reported their green 1993 Chevy Blazer was burglarized while parked in stall #606, between 1500-2210 hours. An unknown suspect smashed the passenger window to enter and stole a skateboard and stereo equipment.
The on-duty station agent reported to the ISRC that she saw the suspect, a BM, 20's, wearing a black 49ers jacket, red shirt, a black backpack and headphones, holding a long barreled handgun. The agent said the suspect saw the gun in the suspect's hand as he stood in the paid area of the station. She said the suspect appeared to waiting for the right moment to conceal the gun. OPD and BART PD officers arrived at the station and detained the suspect on platform #2. A BART PD Sergeant located the gun in the suspect's backpack. The gun turned out be a pellet gun which appeared to have been altered to look like a real gun. A warrant check revealed the suspect had a no bail warrant out of Alameda County for a Welfare and Institutions Code violation. The suspect was also on active parole for Robbery. The suspect was also in possession of an illegal knife. The suspect declined to give a statement. The suspect was booked into the Glenn Dyer Jail on the above listed charges, including a parole violation. TSOC was notified.
An adult female victim reported to a BART Officer that a suspect snatched her I-Phone 4 from her hand on a Richmond bound train. The victim chased the suspect (BM, 18-20, 5’6”, 120, wearing a black hoodie and blue jeans) from the station toward E. 12th St. Officers searched the area however the suspect was not located. Video retrieval was requested for possible evidence. 1211-3925 L21.
A warrant check on a person detained for fare evasion by officers revealed an outstanding no-bail arrest warrant out of San Francisco for probation violation. The person was cited for fare evasion and arrested on the warrant. 1211-3850 L12.
A male suspect snatched an iPhone from the hand of a female victim on the train and then ran into the station. The suspect was described as an unknown race male in his teens, about 5’4” tall, with a dark complexion, wearing a black hooded sweatshirt with the hood up and dark jeans. The victim chased the suspect off the train and lost sight of him running through the Fruitvale Village. The victim was not injured. The phone did not have tracking. The victim is not able to identify the suspect.
A officer responded to the station on a report of a person making fraudulent BART tickets. A person who was identified as the suspect was seen by the officer taking his bicycle up the escalator. After the officer detained the subject for taking his bike on the escalator, a warrant check revealed an outstanding $30,000 arrest warrant for violating a court order. The suspect was also on probation with a full search clause. The suspect was placed under arrest on the warrant, and a search of his person resulted in the recovery of suspected heroin, a crack pipe, hypodermic needles, ticket strips, scissors, and glue. The suspect was also placed under arrest for possession of a controlled substance, possession of unlawful paraphernalia, possession of a crack pipe and hypodermic needles, and possession of altered BART tickets. A sergeant arrived at the scene and debriefed the suspect, who was Mirandized, but refused to give a statement.
BART dispatchers viewed several subjects rummaging inside a parked green vehicle on the top level of the parking structure. Upon their arrival, officers detained three juvenile males. One of the juveniles was positively identified by dispatch as one of the people who was inside the vehicle. The juvenile was placed under arrest for auto burglary, and gave a written confession to the crime. A sergeant arrived at the scene and approved the arrest.
An officer discovered that three vehicles were burglarized in the south parking lot, near 35th Ave., today. The passenger-side window on a’73 Volkswagen Beetle had been smashed, there was broken glass within the vehicle, and it appeared to have been ransacked. The driver’s side door window of a ’95 Hyundai had been broken, there was glass within the vehicle, and it appeared to have been ransacked. The driver’s side door window of an ’05 BMW 540 had also been broken. The officer left business cards in the victim vehicles requesting that the owners contact him. The owner of the BMW telephoned the officer from home and reported that the car stereo had been taken. That theft had occurred between 0830-1600 hrs. The BMW owner declined to have his vehicle processed for latent prints. The owners of the other two vehicles have not yet contacted the officer. Those vehicles were not processed for latent prints due to their being wet from the constant rain.
A male suspect snatched a female victim’s iPhone 4 while she was standing on the platform. The suspect, described as a male, wearing a black hooded sweatshirt and black pants, fled on foot to through the Fruitvale Village. Responding officers were unable to locate him in the area. The victim was not injured and she cannot identify the suspect.
A male suspect snatched a female victim's iPhone 5 while she was seated on the Fremont bound train. The suspect, described as a black male in his 20's, about 5'11" tall, with a thin build, wearing a black hooded sweatshirt and black cargo pants, fled on foot to 35th Avenue. Responding officers were unable to locate him in the area. The victim was not injured and she can not identify the suspect.
An officer heard and saw a subject attempting to sell BART tickets without a permit at the Fruitvale Station. The officer contacted the male as he was talking to him, the male dropped a large number of BART tickets on the ground. The officer saw that several of the tickets were altered. The male was placed under arrest for possession of altered/forged BART tickets. A search incident to arrest, revealed the subject was in possession of scissors, glue sticks, ammunition and additional altered tickets (40-50). A detective is interviewing the male. The male will be booked into Glenn Dyer Jail for possession of altered/forged tickets, Possession of burglary tools, felon in possession of ammunition and altering/forging tickets.
An officer arrested a male juvenile for robbing two female juveniles. The suspect robbed the girls of money and BART tickets. According to one of the victims, the suspect had been armed with a gun. No weapon was recovered. The suspect pulled one of the victims into the bus zone for the purpose of robbing her, and he made comments leading the victims to believe that he is involved in human trafficking/prostitution. The suspect was interviewed by a detective and made incriminating statements. The suspect was booked into juvenile hall for two counts of robbery and for sexual battery. A sergeant approved the arrest.
Victim reported his iPhone 4S snatched from his hand while on a Fremont bound train. The suspect ran from the platform and out of the station. An attempt to locate the phone and suspect was negative. Value of the stolen phone is $400. No injuries to the victim.
An officer was watching the fare gates for fare evaders at the Fruitvale BART Station. An adult male fare evaded out of the station and was contacted by the officer. A records/warrant check revealed the male had a 10,000 warrant for a narcotics violation out of Berkeley. The male was cited for fare evasion and placed under arrest on the warrant. A sergeant responded to the scene and approved the report.
An officer contacted two adult male suspects for panhandling. One of the males was found to have a valid stay away order to stay away from all BART Stations. No one was willing to make a complaint for the panhandling, so the male was booked into the Glenn Dyer Jail for the court order violation.
A patron called to report that a suspect snatched her iPhone from her hands just as the doors of the Dublin train she was on were closing. The victim had her eyes closed and could not provide a description of the suspect. The victim reported the incident when she got to a phone. The victim is unsure of the time the theft occurred, but believes it was approximately 1100 hours.
A store owner reported that there were people living under the aerial trackway, on BART property, near his store. An officer responded and made contact with two males, who appeared to have been living on the property. One of the males was found to have a no bail warrant for his arrest. The male was debriefed regarding BART related crimes before being booked into the Glenn Dyer Jail for the warrant. Officers are working with BART Real Estate to secure the property.
Victim reported his red 1992 Nissan Sentra, 6COT377 CA. broken into via a lock cheat. Upon entering the vehicle the victim found a piece of metal jammed in her “Club Lock”. She inventoried the vehicle and found a boom box missing from the trunk. Minor damage was found in the front door lock. Officer Christ dusted the vehicle for prints with negative results. Officers contacted an adult male for smoking near the businesses in violation of an Oakland municipal code. A records check revealed that the male is on parole and had a search clause. A search of the male revealed what appeared to be a shaved key in his possession. The suspect's parole officer was contacted and the parole officer placed a parole hold on the suspect. The suspect was interviewed and debriefed by the zone sergeant prior to being booked into the Glenn Dyer Jail for Possession of a Burglary Tool and the parole hold. The male was reprimanded for the municipal code violation.
An adult male victim parked his black 1994 Acura Integra (Cal lic. 5PFK527) in stall #240 in the south lot of the Fruitvale BART Station at 0530 hours. When he returned at 1255 hours, he discovered that his Acura was missing. An officer responded and is investigating this case.
An adult female victim reported the theft of her gold 1995 Honda Accord from stall #839 of the Fruitvale BART Station. The victim parked her vehicle at 1400 hours and returned at 1700 hours to discover her car was missing. An officer is investigating the case and video was requested.
