Officers detained a juvenile for fare evasion and determined that the suspect was wanted on a no-bail warrant for a Welfare and Institutions Code violation. The suspect was cited for fare evasion and booked into juvenile hall.
The victim reported that around 0100-0130 this morning, he was offered a ride by 4 subjects who were in the taxi stand area of the station in a red Nissan 4 door sedan. The victim described the subjects as a Black female and 3 Black males. The victim refused a ride and walked away toward the Fruitvale Village. Suddenly, the victim was knocked to the ground from behind by a male suspect, further described as 6'02", and wearing unknown clothing. The victim told the suspect to "take anything he wanted." The suspect took the victim's iPhone 6 and a wallet containing the victim's ID, credit cards, and $100 cash. The victim sustained a minor scratch to his chest and back. The victim is not able to ID the suspect.
Officers responded to the station regarding the report of a male suspect displaying a handgun while on the Fremont platform. On their arrival officers located and detained the suspect, at handgun point. A search of the suspect, however, did not turn up a firearm and he was subsequently released. A sergeant responded to perform the use of force investigation.
A victim reported the burglary of their 1991 Nissan Sentra while it was parked in stall #318 between 0600 and 1000 hours. The vehicle had no signs of forced entry, but entry was made into the locked trunk of the vehicle where $2400 worth of tools were taken. The investigating officer processed the vehicle for fingerprints and completed a report.
A victim reported that their green 1994 Acura Integra was stolen while parked in the first level of the station’s structure, stall #352, between 0700 and 2325 hours. An officer responded and completed a report.
Officers were dispatched to a report of an intoxicated male on the platform. Officers contacted the male and determined that he was too intoxicated to care for himself. The male was booked into the Glenn Dyer Jail for public intoxication,
A victim reported that a male (BM, 30s, 5'4", black t-shirt, blue jeans) grabbed her phone from her hand while she was on the platform. The male fled the area and was not located. The phone was tracked for a short time, but was turned off before it could be located. The victim was not injured. Station video will be requested.
An officer witnessed a male smoking a cigarette in a prohibited area as he attempted to sell BART tickets to patrons. The officer detained the male and a records check showed he had a court order prohibiting him from being on BART property. The male attempted to flee and was taken into custody and was booked.
Officers detained a male suspect for fare evasion and discovered an outstanding $5K misdemeanor vandalism warrant, held by Oakland Police, for his arrest. The officers issued the suspect a citation for the infraction, placed him under arrest for the warrant and booked him into the county jail.
A victim reported that while aboard a Fremont bound train arriving at the station, a black male suspect snatched their iPhone 6s from their grasp and fled from the train. A witness followed the suspect to the area of 26th Ave. and International Blvd., Oakland, where BART and Oakland Police officers were unable to locate him. Officers were also unable to track the cell phone. The victim, who was not injured during the theft, further described the suspect as: early 20’s; 6’ tall; wearing a white t-shirt and shoulder length braids. The investigating officers requested station and train video.
A female victim reported that while aboard a Daly City bound train arriving at the station, a male suspect snatched her company’s $1K Apple Mac Book Pro lap top from her grasp and fled from the train. The victim also off-boarded the train and reported the theft to the station agent. Officers unsuccessfully searched for the suspect, and were unable to track the lap top. The victim, who was not injured during the theft, further described the suspect as: A black male; early 20’s; thin build; wearing a black shirt with a yellow/red pattern on the back. The investigating officers requested station and train video.
A female victim reported that a male suspect (BM, teens or 20's, 6', thin, black hoodie, black jeans) grabbed her while she was in the bus zone. The suspect put her in a headlock and tried to take her purse and a necklace. He was unsuccessful in getting any of her property and fled on foot toward 35th Avenue. Responding officers were not able to locate the suspect. The victim had some small scratches, but refused medical attention. Station video will be requested.
Officers responded to the Fruitvale Station for a report of a battery upon the station agent. Officers located the suspect and he was placed under arrest. The agent was not injured but made a criminal complaint against the suspect. The male was booked at Santa Rita Jail and was issued a prohibition order.
A male victim reported that while seated aboard a Dublin-bound train arriving at the station, a black male snatched his gray iPhone 6S from his shirt pocket and fled. The victim, who was not injured, was uncertain whether the suspect remained aboard or had fled from the train after the theft; nor could he provide any further description of the suspect. An officer responded, but was unable to track the phone. The officer completed a report and requested train video.
Officers responded to the station on a report of a group of juveniles who possibly matched the description of suspects who had been involved in recent robberies in the area. Before the officers arrived, the group of juveniles approached a female victim who was texting on her phone and one of the suspects grabbed the phone and fled with the loss. The suspects fled out of the station on foot and were not located. The loss was an Apple iPhone 6s, gold color with a pink case. Officers attempted to track the phone, but were unsuccessful. CCTV footage was requested.
A patron parked a 2001 Ford Explorer in the parking structure on 7/26/16 between 07:30 and 18:15. When the owner returned to the vehicle, he discovered that some unknown suspect had entered the vehicle by punching the door lock and had attempted to start the vehicle by punching the ignition lock. The interior of the vehicle was also ransacked. The suspect was unable to start the vehicle and fled the scene. Video evidence was requested.
A victim reported that they off-boarded from a train when they were approached by three young Black male juveniles. The victim stated they were punched in the face and IPhone taken. The victim declined medical. Officers were unable to locate the suspects.
A male victim reported that while riding his bicycle at the station, an unknown black male suspect pushed him to the ground and rode away on the bicycle. The victim chased after the suspect, caught up to him and knocked him to the ground in order to retrieve the bicycle. The two then briefly struggled with one another, during which the victim’s cell phone fell to the ground and was quickly picked up by the suspect who then used it to strike the victim about the head. The victim managed to safely recover the phone, but was then confronted again by the suspect who brandished what appeared to be a knife. The suspect eventually fled south bound on San Leandro Street, but was not located by officers performing an area search for him. The suspect is further described as: 22-25 years of age; 5’10” tall; wearing a black hat, white cardigan sweater and blue jeans. The victim sustained a minor injury as a result of the struggle, but refused immediate medical attention. An officer requested station video.
A witness reported seeing a male grab a laptop computer from another male as the train was at the Fruitvale Station. The victim struggled with, and then chased the suspect out of the station. An officer located the suspect as he got into a vehicle with two occupants. The vehicle began to drive away and the officer made an investigative stop on the vehicle. The male suspect was determined to be a juvenile. A laptop computer was seen on the seat near him in the car. The suspect admitted to taking the laptop from the victim while on the train. The victim was able to identify the laptop as his, so it was photographed and returned to him. Train and station video will be requested. The vehicle's female occupants were FI'd and released. The suspect was interviewed by a detective, issued a prohibition order and booked into the Alameda County Juvenile Hall for robbery.
