An adult male victim reported to an officer that his black unknown brand 7 speed bike was stolen from Fremont Station. The victim locked his bike with a cable lock at the racks. Time element was 0930 to 1910 hours.
A man reported that his hybrid Schwinn 21-speed bicycle had been stolen from the west bicycle rack between 1130 hrs. on 09/22/12, and 0001 hrs. on 09/23/12. The cable and combination lock with which the bicycle had been secured was also taken.
The victim reported the theft of his men's, 7 speed, Schwinn Mtn. bike, red and blk, from the station back on 8/2/12 between 0700-1800 hours. The bike was secured with a cable and combination lock. The bike was valued at $300. The victim was reporting the theft for insurance purposes.
A woman reported that she was robbed and her friend was battered in the southwest parking lot. One male and two female teenagers had robbed her of a wallet containing $200, attempted to take her friend’s vehicle, and had struck her friend. A witness chased the suspects off. The suspects were last seen on foot heading toward Walnut Ave. The second victim sustained a red and swollen nose, a bruised shin, and pain in her head and chest. Officers responded to the scene. An unsuccessful area search was conducted for the suspects. An offficer processed the victim vehicle for evidence, photographed it, and lifted several latent prints from it. Fremont PD telephoned the ISRC/BART PD dispatch at 0203 hrs. to advise that a woman was at the Fremont BART Station reporting that her former boyfriend had left on foot with their 2-year-old daughter. The man had vandalized the woman's car before leaving. He was last seen walking from the station, towards Walnut Ave. The investigating patrol officer arrived on scene at 0221 hrs. The woman told him that she had been unaware that BART was closed and had intended to drop off the suspect at Fremont station. She said that the suspect does not have a permanent address, but stays with family or friends in Oakland and Berkeley. She subsequently told the officer that the suspect had punched her and slammed her head against the steering wheel of her car. The suspect then picked up the child and walked away with her. The woman advised that she does not live with the suspect. Although the suspect is the child's father, he has not had custody of the child and has never been alone with his daughter before. The suspect was under the influence of alcohol, according to the reporting party. Fremont PD and BART PD officers conducted searches of the area for the suspect and child. The suspect supposedly did not have access to a vehicle, did not have a significant amount of money with him, and does not have relatives or friends in the Fremont area. ACSO, CHP, Union City PD, and Oakland PD were notified by police dispatchers. A BOLO was also sent to Bay Area law-enforcement agencies. The on-call detective was called at 0243 hrs. and responded to the station, and to a hospital, where the victim was examined for a large bump on her forehead. The C-plt. sergeant also responded to the station and the hospital. The acting-police chief and the operations deputy chief were notified by telephone. The acting-police chief responded to the hospital. At 0713 hrs, Fremont PD officers searched Fremont station and located the suspect and the child. This followed a report from an AC Transit bus driver that the suspect and child were there preparing to board a bus. The child had not been injured. The detective and BART police personnel responded to the station to conduct further investigative follow up. The suspect is in BART police custody. The criminal charges against the suspect are presently being determined and are pending the result of the detective's interview of the suspect, his investigative follow up, and the A-plt. watch commander's approval.
The victim reported the theft of his red 21 sp, Specialized, Full Force, hybrid bicycle, from the bike racks located near the agent's booth. The bike was secured with a cable lock on 8/11/12 at 1600 hrs. Upon his return on 8/12/12 at 1000hrs, the bike and cable lock were was missing. The victim could not provide a serial number.
A female victim reported that her 1999 Dodge Durango sustained a broken driver's side window while parked in the Fremont BART Station. The time element is from 2000 hours on 8/14/12 until 0100 hours on 8/15/12. Loss was a woman's purse with contents, valued at $500.00. Vehicle was not available for processing to locate evidence. An Officer is investigating and video has been requested.
An officer contacted an adult male suspect for fare evasion. A records check revealed that the male had 13 small traffic and public nuisance warrants for his arrest, totaling over $11,000. The male was booked into the Santa Rita Jail for the warrants and cited for the fare evasion charge.
Officers on a theft detail observed a male subject cut a cable lock and remove a bicycle from the bicycle racks at the Fremont Station. Officers detained the male and learned that he possessed burglary tools. A records check showed the male was on probation for theft and robbery. The male was placed under arrest for grand theft of a bicycle, possession of burglary tools and probation violation. Detectives were notified and responded to interview the male. Officers are in the process of planning a probation search of the subject's residence.
A patron reported that his black backpack was taken while on a train, about 45 minutes prior. Victim added that the backpack was unattended for a brief period and was taken by an unknown suspect. Victim reported bag contained a sweater, laptop, and medication. Victim was not able to provide location of train during the time of the theft. Officer investigating case.
A victim reported her silver 1990 4 door Toyota Camry, 4EKV288 CA. stolen from stall #1564 between 1111 and 2318 hours. Oakland Police recovered the vehicle at 0023 hours. It had been smashed into a tree and burnt. No suspects in custody.
A woman reported that her Mercury Mountaineer had been burglarized today in the north lot, stall #35, between 1130-1930 hrs. The rear driver’s side window had been broken. A gym bag had been opened and the interior of the vehicle had been ransacked, but there was no apparent property loss. The vehicle was examined for evidence, but the owner declined to have it processed for latent prints.
A woman advised the station agent that her 2003 Escape DBL had been burglarized in the lot today. The victim left the station prior to the investigating officer’s arrival. The officer subsequently reached the victim by telephone. The burglary had occurred between 1345-2230 hrs. The rear-passenger door window had been broken. There was no loss of property from the vehicle. The vehicle was not processed for evidence because the victim had already driven it home and touched the printable surfaces.
A victim reported his Next brand, La Jolla model beach cruiser bicycle, valued at $100 and his black cable lock valued at $15 were taken between 0815 and 1830 hours while locked in the bicycle racks on the west side of the station.
On officer responded to the station to investigate a report of a male tampering with a bicycle lock. The suspect was scared off by the reporting party. At 1845 hours a victim reported his blue and white K2 road bicycle, valued at $200, and the Bell cable lock were missing. This was the same bicycle being tampered with earlier in the day. It is unknown when the bicycle was originally locked.
A victim reported the theft of their bike, a men's Magna, red and silver in color, from the bike racks on the west side of the station. The bike was stolen between the hours of 0845 on 6/14/12 and 0845 on 6/15/12. The bike was secured with a wire cable and lock which was also taken.
