An officer contacted an adult male for smoking in the station and discovered that he had a $50,000 warrant for trespassing. The male was cited for smoking before being booked into the San Francisco County Jail for the warrant.
A loud noise was heard coming from wayside between the Montgomery and Embarcadero station. BART Central advised it was an explosion from an electrical box in between the tunnels. Normal service was restored after a 20 minute delay in service. Incident train was taken to Montgomery for inspection and off-loaded. There was no fire and residual smoke was reported for a short time at Embarcadero. The ventilation system was activated. SF Fire was advised.
An officer contacted an adult male for blocking free movement. The male had been contacted for the same offense earlier in the morning and had prior contacts for the same offense. The suspect became irate, approached the officer and had to be physically restrained. He received a small cut to his face during the struggle, but refused medical attention. He later made statements that led to him being sent for psychiatric evaluation. A criminal hold was placed on him, to be booked for the listed charges and two small traffic warrants once he is treated/released.
Officers responded to the Embarcadero Station for a violation of a court order prohibiting a male from being on BART property. Officers confirmed the court order was valid and placed the suspect under arrest. He was booked at the San Francisco County Jail.
An adult male was detained by officers for reportedly attempting to sell narcotics aboard a train. A records/warrants check of the subject determined he was on active, and searchable, narcotics-related probation. Pursuant the terms of his probation, officers searched the subject and found that he was in possession of individually packaged Marijuana bags; total weight equaling less than one ounce. Based upon the totality of the circumstances, the subject was placed under arrest for possessing the narcotic for sales and for violating the terms of his probation. A sergeant approved the arrest. In an interview with officers, the subject admitted selling some of the narcotic while aboard a train, so the additional crime of narcotics transportation was added to his eventual booking. Subsequently, the subject was issued a prohibition order before being booked into the county jail.
A male victim reported that while he was sitting on a bench on the platform, a male suspect (BM, 20's, thin, red knit cap and white windbreaker) sat next to him and asked to see his glasses. The suspect then asked the victim, "you know what this is, right" as he put his hand into his jacket and simulated a weapon. The victim was fearful that he might be harmed, so he handed over his glasses and cell phone. The suspect them fled the area and was not located. The phone was enabled with tracking, but was listed as "off-line." The victim was not injured. Station video will be requested.
A record check on a person detained for unruly behavior revealed outstanding outstanding arrest warrants out of San Francisco totaling $27,000 for theft. The suspect was placed under arrest for the warrants. A sergeant approved the arrest.
A warrant check on a person detained for blocking free movement in the station revealed two outstanding $75,000 arrest warrants out of San Francisco for narcotics. The subjectwas placed under arrest for the warrants.
An officer detained a male subject for public intoxication, and determined he was too intoxicated to care for himself due to his level of (alcohol) intoxication. The officer then placed the subject under arrest, and a sergeant responded to approve the arrest. Subsequently, the subject was booked into the county jail for public intoxication.
An officer contacted a subject who was blocking free movement while lying on the stairwell at the Market and Main Street entrance to the station. During the contact the subject littered by throwing food items onto the floor and then resisted the officer by attempting to walk away. The officer managed to detain the subject by using physical force. During this time the officer also determined the subject was too intoxicated to care for himself and placed him under arrest for public intoxication, in addition to: blocking free movement, resisting arrest, littering and for an outstanding $385 alcohol infraction warrant, held by the San Francisco Police Department. A sergeant responded in order to approve the arrest, debrief the subject and perform the use of force investigation. The subject was then booked into the county jail. The officer and the subject were not injured during the incident.
A victim reported that he was pickpocketed for his wallet. He described a suspect (BM, 30-40, bald, dark baseball cap, dark coat over a green dress shirt) who he thinks took his wallet from his pocket and fled out of the station. Station video will be requested by the investigating officer.
Officers responded to a report of a fight inside the station between a male and female. Further investigation upon detention revealed two witnesses saw the male strike the female in the face. The female, who was the mother of the male’s child and lived with him, sustained bruises to the face but declined medical attention. The male was placed under arrest for domestic violence and was issued a 30 day BART prohibition order. A sergeant arrived at the scene to approve the arrest.
A victim reported that a Black juvenile male subject, who was with a group of other Black male juveniles, snatched his Iphone 6 from his hands and ran out of the station. Dispatch attempted to track the Iphone with negative results. The victim stated he would not be able to identify the suspect. Officers searched the area for the suspects with negative results.
The on-duty station agent reported that another agent had been punched several times by a male suspect. The suspect was described as a black male in his late 20's, wearing a green army jacket, black pants and white shoes. Officers responded and detained a male matching the suspect description. The victim identified the suspect and he was arrested for battery. Officers determined that the man qualified for emergency psychiatric detention. He was cited for battery on a transit worker, issued a prohibition order and was transported to San Francisco General Hospital for evaluation and treatment. The agent was treated at the scene for minor injuries.
A victim reported that she on a Daly City bound train approaching the Embarcadero Station when an unknown subject (slim Black male subject, 18-20 years old, wearing a black jacket and dark jeans) snatched her Iphone 4 out of her hand and ran out the train. Officers responded but were unable to locate the suspect. Station video will be requested.
A records check on a person detained for blocking access in the free area revealed an outstanding $20,000 arrest warrant out of San Francisco for failure to appear in court. The subject was placed under arrest for the warrant. A sergeant arrived at the scene to approve the arrest.
An officer detained a female subject for fare evasion. During the detention the subject attempted to walk away from the officer, who then physically restrained her. The subject, however, resisted the officer and a brief struggle ensued. The officer managed to place the subject in handcuffs without further incident, and placed her under arrest for resisting arrest. A sergeant responded to approve the arrest, debrief the subject and perform the use of force investigation. The officer and the subject were not injured during the struggle, but it was determined the subject was in need of a psychiatric evaluation. The subject was transported to San Francisco General Hospital for the psychiatric evaluation.
Officers responded to a report of a subject causing a disturbance on the train. The officers contacted the subject who provided a false name to them. The subject was issued a citation for fare evasion and had multiple infraction warrants. The subject was arrested and booked into the SF County Jail for providing false ID to an officer and for his warrants. There was no complainant to the disturbing the peace call.
An officer was dispatched to a report of two male subjects fighting over a bicycle on a Daly City bound train. An officer was on scene and located two male subjects on the platform. Additional officers arrived a short time later to assist. The officers detained the aggressor, who turned out to be the subject who attempted to rob the victim of his bicycle. The suspect, who was handcuffed, repeatedly attempted to walk away from the officers so physical force was used to affect the detention. The suspect appeared intoxicated and refused to answer any of the officers’ questions. The victim reported that he was on the platform when the suspect tried to take his bicycle and get onto a train. The victim refused and the suspect physically assaulted him. The victim suffered from a minor injury to his fingers. The suspect was transported and booked into the SF County Jail for robbery and additionally issued a prohibition order. A sergeant responded to approve the arrest and conducted a use of force investigation.
A victim reported her access card to station bike area was stolen from her backpack while in San Francisco, and was used to steal three bicycles from the lockers. Surveillance video from the Bike Hub was retrieved and showed two suspects entering the caged area and stealing three bicycles on three separate occasions. San Francisco PD was notified and a detective responded for the follow up investigation, which is on-going at this time. 1411- 0369 L12
While on patrol, officers observed and detained a subject whom they recognized as having a stay away order that needed to be served. A wants check revealed that the subject had a misdemeanor $10k warrant charging altering media fare issued from the San Francisco Police Department. The subject was also found to be in possession of additional altered media fare. The subject was arrested and is to be booked into the SF County Jail for his warrant and for being in possession of altered media fare.
A female victim reported two Black male teens took her white iPhone 4 from her right rear pants’ pocket as she sat on a mid-platform bench. Shortly after taking the phone, the suspects fled via the Drumm/Market Street entrance. Officers responded, performed a search of the area, but were unable to locate the suspects. The victim was not injured during the theft. Station video was requested.
A record check on a person detained for fare evasion revealed an outstanding $10,000 arrest warrant out of San Francisco for possession of a switchblade. The person was cited for fare evasion and placed under arrest for the warrant. The arrest was approved by a sergeant.
