Sick Patron

Dublin/Pleasanton - 1306-1170

A female who attended the Alameda County Fair with her caretaker boarded a shuttle bus to return to the BART station.  While boarding the bus, the woman experienceed shortness of breath.  The shuttle driver transported the woman and her caretaker to the BART station and noticed that the woman had become unresponsive.  Upon arrival at the station, the woman was reported to be having trouble breathing.  Code 3 medical aid was requested.  The woman was transported by ambulance to Valley Care Hospital for treatment.  An officer took the caretaker to the hospital.  Medical staff was unable to revive the woman and she was pronounced dead at the hospital at about 1630 hours.  There does not appear to be any District involvement in this case.

The victim reported the theft of his gray Granite Peak Road Master Bike which occurred between the hours of 0545 on 5/10/13 and 0840, today's date.  The victim secured his bike to the racks inside the station with a cable and lock.  The victim could not provide a serial number for the bike.

A patron reported that their black Cannondale F500 24-speed mountain bike was stolen between 1130-1740 hours.  The victim secured the bike to the racks on the south side of the entrance using a cable lock.  The victim valued the bike at $600.

A patron called to report that her vehicle had been burglarized while parked on the 5th level of the parking structure sometime between 0900 hours on 5/2 and 0900 hours on 5/3.  The driver's wing window was smashed and the glove box and center console opened.  A wallet containing $800 and credit cards was taken.  The vehicle was processed for evidence by the investigating officer.

An officer was called to conduct a welfare check on a male who was sleeping and refusing to off-board an out of service train.  The officer contacted the male and located a small amount of heroin in a plastic baggie.  The suspect also had a crack pipe and a small amount of marijuana on his person.  The suspect was booked into the Santa Rita Jail for possession of narcotics, possession of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia.

An officer witnessed a male and female with a small child in a dispute in the bus zone on the Dublin side of the station.  The female struck the male several times.  The officer detained both parties, with the assistance of Dublin PD.  Witnesses confirmed that the female was the aggressor and that the male did not respond to the battery.  The investigation determined that the couple had a child in common.  Although the male refused to pursue prosecution, the female was arrested for domestic battery and booked at Santa Rita Jail.  The child was turned over to the custody of the female's grandparents.

A patron reported his 2002 Pontiac Trans Am, 2dr, black, was burglarized while parked in stall #2698 of the Dublin/Pleasanton station between 4/20/13 at 1330  and 4/21/13 at 1123. The point of entry was not determined. The victim reported the loss as several gift cards with unknown value.

The station agent reported a male suspect at the station following female patrons and making them uncomfortable.  The suspect was described as a white male in his 30's, with short hair, wearing a black baseball cap and black trench coat.  Responding officers located the man in front of a hotel near the station.  Although no victims came forward to press criminal charges, record checks showed the man had an outstanding no-bail arrest warrant for forgery held by the Alameda Police Department.  The man was arrested on his warrant and booked at Santa Rita Jail.

Officers responded to the station for a report of a person attempting to steal a bicycle in front of the station. Alameda County deputies were first on the scene, and detained a person they witnessed cutting a chain on a bicycle. Upon detention, the deputies determined the subject was under the influence of narcotics and placed him under arrest. A BART officer arrived, and took a statement from the suspect. The suspect said the bike belonged to his sister but did not have a key to the lock. The deputies, who were familiar with suspect, wanted to arrest and book the suspect for being under the influence. A complaint will be sought through the District Attorney’s office for attempt bicycle theft. Video requested.

Patrons reported that they dropped their iPhone on a train at Dublin/Pleasanton Station.  They believed another man on the train picked up the phone and kept it.  Both the reporting parties and the man they believed had the phone boarded a train and officers intercepted the train at Castro Valley Station.  Officers determined that the reporting parties never actually saw the man pick up their phone and that the phone may have been lost elsewhere.  The adult male detained for possibly having the phone was found to have an outstanding no-bail arrest warrant for theft, held by the Alameda County Sheriff's Department.  The man was arrested on his outstanding warrant and was booked at Santa Rita Jail.

A patron reported their GT Avalanche 18-speed mountain bike was stolen between 0900-2050 hours.  The victim secured their bike to a handrail at the south end of the bus zone using a cable lock.  When the victim returned, both the lock and bike were missing.

Officers conducted a welfare check on a man who was passed out on a Daly City train.  The suspect was determined to be intoxicated and unable to care for his safety.  During a search incident to his arrest for public intoxication, the officers found cocaine in the suspect’s wallet.  The suspect was also placed under arrest for cocaine possession.  A sergeant approved the arrest and debriefed the suspect.  The suspect was booked into Santa Rita Jail.

03/09/13  0109 hrs.  Officers conducted a welfare check on a man who, according to the train operator, had been asleep on an out-of-service train and was refusing to off-board.  The man was found to have a $5,000 BART misdemeanor warrant for violation of a court order.  The suspect was also determined to be in violation of a court order that he keep away from all BART stations.  The suspect was arrested on the warrant and for violation of  a court order.  He was debriefed by a sergeant, then booked into Santa Rita Jail.
