Pleasanton PD requested the assistance of a K9 to conduct an explosive sweep of the Home Depot store in Pleasanton. A male suspect had made a verbal threat to a store employee. The store and surrounding businesses were evacuated. A BART K9 conducted a sweep of the business, with negative results and the business was re-opened.
Two female BART employees reported a male exposed himself to them on the platform of the East Dublin Station. Officers detained the male and the victims placed him under citizen's arrest for indecent exposure. The male was booked at the Santa Rita Jail and was given a prohibition order.
A victim reported that they locked their Banachi road bicycle at the station today at 0730 hours. The bicycle was secured with a cable lock. The victim returned at 1730 hours to find their bicycle gone. The estimated value of the bike is $150.
A victim reported that they locked their Black road bicycle at the station on 10/1/15 at 2200 hours. The bicycle was secured with cable lock. The victim returned the next day at 1300 hours to find their bicycle gone. The estimated value of the bike is $200.
A male accidentally shot himself in the leg with a gun he recently purchased, while he was standing near the taxi stand on the Pleasanton side of the station. The male claimed he passed the firearm off to a friend of his, who left the station with the weapon. No evidence was located at the scene and the firearm was not recovered. The male was transported to Eden Medical Center with non-life threatening injuries. The case will be referred to the District Attorney for charging. TSOC notified.
A victim reported the theft of their yellow GMC brand men’s road bike, valued at $300.00, while it was cable locked at the station between 0815 and 1815 hours. An officer responded and completed a report.
A station agent called to ask for an officer to do a welfare check on an adult male at the station. An officer arrived and determined that the male was too intoxicated to care for himself. The male was booked into the Santa Rita Jail for public intoxication.
While on patrol, an officer observed and detained a subject for smoking. A wants check revealed that the subject had a misdemeanor $30k warrant charging burglary and theft issued from the SFPD. The subject was cited for the smoking violation and arrested and booked into the Santa Rita Jail for his warrant.
An officer located two vehicles (1998 Subaru Forester and a 1995 Jeep) that appeared to have been burglarized. The loss is unknown at this time. Both vehicles were processed for fingerprints.

A victim reported that they locked their Novara road bicycle at the station today at 0840 hours. The bicycle was secured with cable lock. The victim returned at 1600 hours to find their bicycle gone.
A victim reported that they locked their black hybrid unknown brand/model bicycle at the station, between 1000-1815 hours. The bicycle was secured with U-Lock but possibly secured through the wheel and not the frame. The estimated value of the bike is $400.00. An officer completed a report.
A victim reported that they locked their purple mountain bicycle at the station on 9/12/15 at 1000 hours. The bicycle was secured with a cable lock. The victim returned today at 1400 hours to find their bicycle gone. The estimated value of the bike is $100.
An employee of a small coffee kiosk called to report an aggressive panhandler near her store. An officer contacted the male and determined that he had a condition of his probation to stay away from all BART stations. The victim did not wish to pursue a complaint, so the male was booked into the Santa Rita Jail for violating the conditions of his probation.
An officer was dispatched to conduct a welfare check on a male who was reportedly sleeping on the floor of an out of service train. The officer made contact and determined that the male was too intoxicated to care for himself, so he was booked into the Santa Rita Jail for public intoxication.
A victim reported the theft of their Swift Trail men’s bike while it was cable locked to the south bike racks, between 1745 hours on 8/15/15 and 1340 hours on 8/17/15. An officer responded and completed a report.
The owner of the Cafe Express store reported that a suspect pried open the metal gate over the window and gained entry to the store sometime between 1630 hours on 8/15 and 0800 hours today. Once the suspect made entry, he/she took $200 in cash from the cash register. There is no video in the store, but station video is being requested. The area was processed for evidence as well.
A system service worker reported a male urinating on the platform. A records check revealed that the male had a valid stay away order to stay away from all BART stations. The male was placed under citizen's arrest for the urinating violation and booked into the Santa Rita Jail for the court order violation.
The driver of a black 1990’s Jeep Grand Cherokee experienced a medical emergency while traveling on westbound Interstate 580, which in turn caused the vehicle to collide with the center median above the station. After striking the median, the vehicle fell through an opening between the east and west bound lanes of the interstate and landed in the station’s bus zone. No pedestrians and/or patrons were injured, but the vehicle’s driver and a passenger were seriously injured. BART Police and Highway Patrol officers responded, as did medical personnel. Paramedics eventually transported the injured to a nearby hospital, and Highway patrol officers took over the investigation as the collision originated in their jurisdiction. With the exception of interstate fencing and related debris landing in the bus zone, there was no damage to BART property and train service was not interrupted.
A victim reported that their 2007 gold-colored Honda Odyssey was burglarized while parked on the third level of the station’s parking structure, stall 423, between 0740 and 1350 hours. The suspect(s) entered the vehicle via a driver’s side door cheat, and a small amount of loose change was taken from the center console. The investigating officer processed the vehicle for fingerprints and completed a report.
