Two Officers were conducting a welfare check on a separate call for service when the suspect interfered with their investigation. The officers quickly determined the suspect was too intoxicated to care for himself and was placed under arrest. The suspect was booked into the Martinez Detention Facility for public intoxication.

An officer contacted a male subject whom he believed was intoxicated. The officer determined the subject was under the influence of alcohol and unable to care for himself. The subject was transported and booked into Contra Costa County jail in Martinez.
Witnesses reported that a vehicle driven by a male had struck a parked car in the parking structure. Officers responded and found the driver unresponsive. Paramedics treated the man, but ultimately declared him deceased. It appears that the man's death was from natural causes, and there is no indication of foul play.
