In a late reported case that actually occurred on 11/30/09, a patron called to report that her new $1400 Luis Vuitton purse was stolen as she slept on a train between Embarcadero and El Cerrito Del Norte Stations. The victim boarded a Richmond-bound train at approximately 1642 hrs. and when she awoke at approximately 1715 hrs. the purse, which was among other bags situated next to her, was gone. No suspect information.
A male suspected of an attempted robbery was detained by officers. Prior to finding out the crime had no merit, a warrant check on the suspect revealed an outstanding $25,000 arrest warrant for theft out of Union City. The suspect was arrested on the warrant and booked at the Martinez Jail. 0911-0965 L12.
A 13 year old male was approached in the bus zone by three male juvenile suspects who knocked him to the ground. The suspects then went into his pockets, removing an Ipod before fleeing the area. Responding officers located and detained two of the suspects nearby. The victim was able to identify them and the Ipod was recovered in a bush near where they were detained. The two suspects were booked at Martinez Juvenile Hall for robbery.
An adult male was robbed at knife-point while awaiting a bus in the bus zone. The suspect, a male in his 20's approached him, demanding money while also threatening to kill him with the knife. The suspect fled and a search of the area failed to locate him. Loss was $160 in cash.
Officers called to the bus zone for a report of narcotics and gambling activity contacted an adult male suspect who was determined to have a no bail warrant for battery. The male was arrested for the warrant and booked at the Martinez Detention Facility for the warrant.
Officers responded to a 911 report by the victim of a battery committed by her boyfriend. The altercation stemmed from an argument over their child. The boyfriend struck the victim in the face and shoved the victim before he fled the scene.
A patrol sergeant on-viewed two adult males involved in a physical altercation in the bus zone area. The parties were separated and it was later determined that one of the involved had an outstanding felony no-bail parole violation warrant out of the Department of Corrections. That subject was booked on the warrant and the other FI'd and released with no further action taken.
An adult male who claimed that he was "Losing his mind" was held for psychiatric evaluation and placed on a police hold when it was later determined that the subject also had an outstanding no-bail felony auto theft warrant as well as a spousal battery warrant.
Two male juveniles were involved in a physical altercation at the station agent's booth. One juvenile punched the other in the face, causing minor injuries. The police detained the aggressor, who was cited for battery and released to his parents. 0909-2429. L12.
An altercation between adult boyfriend and girlfriend led to the female being struck over the head with a hard object, possibly a rock. The boyfriend fled the scene and a search of a possible residence in San Leandro for the boyfriend proved negative. The victim was transported to a local hospital for treatment of a head wound, non life-threatening.
Officers searched the bus stop area for an armed robbery suspect when the victim reported seeing him there. Officers located the suspect and took him into custody without incident. A field line-up yielded a positive identification by the victim. The case was turned over to the Richmond Police after it was determined that the robbery occurred in their jurisdiction.
A sergeant contacted an adult male for littering. The subject gave a false name and fled when the sergeant determined he was lying and tried to handcuff him. After a foot chase and search, the subject was located and arrested. It was later determined that the subject had an outstanding no-bail battery warrant.
A patron reported that an adult male who was acting strangely on-board a train also appeared to have a gun in his pocket. The train was searched at the station, but no persons matching the suspect's description were located.
An anonymous patron called to report a person in the bus zone who had a warrant for his arrest. Officers made contact with the adult male suspect. The suspect gave a false name and then ran into the neighborhood, jumping over fences. Officers were able to locate the suspect in a nearby yard and took him into custody without incident. The suspect was booked at the Martinez Detention Facility on a no bail warrant for domestic violence.
The station agent at El Cerrito Del Norte Station reported at a male subject slapped a cell phone out of her hand then punched a patron who was standing nearby. It wasn't clear at the time of this report as to what prompted the altercation. The suspect left the area and was not located by responding officers.
At Fremont station, a 29-year-old female reported that her $200 iphone had been snatched out of her hand, an hour earlier, by a 20-year-old male suspect aboard a Fremont-bound train at El Cerrito del Norte station. The suspect fled from the train with the property and the victim proceeded to her destination.
A female reported that a male had thrown an unknown liquid on her while at the station. Officers contacted the male suspect, who was on parole. The suspect was arrested on a citizen's arrest for the battery and a parole hold was placed by the suspect's parole officer. The suspect was booked at the Martinez Detention Facility.
Three trains were run through the station while a BPD K-9 officer searched the station for a shooting suspect, from an El Cerrito PD case. The suspect was not located and train service was restored.
Power to the rails was shut down after a woman was reported to be wandering on the trackway. The station agent attempted talking her back onto the platform but the subject refused, eventually winding up on a Fremont train which allowed her to board. The train and subject, who was reportedly highly agitated, was intercepted at El Cerrito Plaza Station where she was taken into custody and transported to a local hospital for a psychiatric evaluation.
An adult male was arrested and booked for an attempted automobile burglary and possession of burglar tools after a witness saw him break a window of a truck. The suspect, who was taken into custody by El Cerrito P.D., was positively identified by the witness.
